Work Text:
“What’s that, Kev?” Sean starts, keen eyes catching sight of Kevin traipsing past his office on the way to the kitchen, hair fluffy from a long sleep and mid-yawn. He spins his chair to face the door as Kevin backtracks, leaning in the doorway and rubbing his eyes with a quiet hm? in response to Sean. “What you’re wearing. What’s it?”
“It’s a onesie.”
“...What you’ve got there is a fursuit, Kev.”
“No, Sean, it’s a onesie.”
“A what now?”
“A onesie.”
“In English?”
Kevin sighs in mild exasperation, flailing his arms up in the air. “Onesie. One. Sie. It’s just- you know how cold I get, and the heating’s broken, and I-”
Sean smiles, interrupting Kevin mid whine with a laugh. “You don’t have to explain why you have it, it just- ah it’s grand. You’re happy.” He giggles as Kevin’s arms fold, still leaning against the doorframe, pout appearing on his lips. “It looks cosy.” He grins up as Kevin’s frame softens, hand running through his hair.
“Coffee?” Kevin offers through a yawn, knowing Sean’s answer before he even asks, and turns to resume his journey to the kitchen.
“Kevi- Kev-” Sean blinks and jumps out his chair, crossing the room in a few quick paces and poking his head out into the hall where a confused Kevin waits. “Does that have a tail? ” He sees Kevin deflate slightly, blush spreading across his pale skin as he grabs round and pulls a long, striped fluffy tail around his thigh. “Oh, that’s precious, Kev,” Sean laughs, genuinely enamoured by his boyfriend and his new purchase. “What is it? A lemur?”
“...Red panda,” Kevin admits, fiddling with the fur under his hands and curling his toes. He lifts his eyes and Sean is beaming at him, and he can’t help a small smile twitching at his lips. “Is soft, look,” he starts, holding his arm out to Sean. “It’s really soft.” His smile widens as Sean strokes at the soft black fleece gently, eyebrows lifting in slight surprise.
“Oh it is though- wait,” Sean grins, turning Kevin’s arm. “Paws?” he questions, holding the dangling mitt attached to the end of Kevin’s sleeve. “Are you sure this isn’t-”
“It’s not! It just has a tail. And those,” Kevin replies, shifting from foot to foot, knowing Sean’s already seen the ones covering his feet. “And a hood.”
“A hood?”
Kevin sighs, pulls his arm back from Sean and stands back before flipping the hood up over his head, large white furred ears and a small face completing the whole effect. “I- I like red pandas…” he tails off, whining slightly but following Sean’s instruction to turn, showing off the full onesie. Blush heats his face as he returns back to face Sean, peering out from under the hood, the impromptu modelling session too much for having just woken up.
“God you’re precious, Kevi,” Sean smiles, leaning up for a kiss, happy to pull back and see a bashful smile across Kevin’s face. “Now, I don’t know anything about red pandas,” he grins, booping the nose on the hood, “but I hope they can make coffee.”
