Work Text:
Denki couldn't think straight, and that was his whole problem. If his thoughts weren't so damn gay, he wouldn't be here, in the common room, panicking, and trying his hardest not to stare at the boy he knew was sitting on the couch across from him.
Things are hard enough with his own life. He is truly a bi disaster. He does not need this drama on top. Who is he to judge his bro's relationships when he himself can't even figure himself out?
Besides, Kirishima is fine. Everything's fine. His bro is totally not wearing his more feisty bro's shirt. Nope. And he 100% wasn't glancing over at him right then.
Flipping flippers, he thought as his curiosity got the better of him and his eyes slid to where Kiri was sitting on the couch wearing what he was nearly certain was Bakugou's shirt. It had to be the angry Pomeranian's shirt. Who else did he know that owned and black shirt with a white skull?
If it was Bakugou's shirt and Kirishima was wearing it, then Bakugou must have given it to him to wear. But that would mean-
He felt his last braincell fry as he tried to force away the very gay thoughts. Everything is fine.
Or at least it was until Midoriya walked into the common room. See before, Denki might have been able to push his suspicion aside, maybe. It was something he could brush off and forget by the next day, or store in the back of his mind to ask Kirishima later. But, once Midoriya walked into the room and completely froze, he knew there was no chance he was forgetting about the shirt.
"Uh, Kirishima-kun? Is that... Is that Kacchan's?" The freckled boy who in Denki's mind resembled a broccoli (though he'd never say it out loud, he wouldn't want to hurt his bro's feelings) barely managed to stutter out.
Kirishima looked at him oddly for a few seconds, his head tilting to the side slightly. Denki could hardly wait for his answer, though he was sure it was Bakubro's shirt. It wasn't Kirishima who answered the question, rather the 'Kacchan' who's shirt was in question.
"Of course it's my shirt you piece of shit, who the fuck else has a shirt like that," Bakugou plopped himself down roughly on the couch beside Denki, repeating the words he had thought not moments before, just with more swears.
His best bro's eyes widened and he looked down at his shirt as if suddenly realizing he was even wearing it. If he didn't know Kirishima better than he knew how to navigate his own disaster of a room, he wouldn't have caught the small smile that quirked at his lips after his initial confusion faded.
He rubbed at the back of his neck and his usual beaming sharp toothed smile returned. "Oops, forgot I was wearing it."
Midoriya's eyes only widened. "You forgot you were wearing Kacchan's favorite shirt?"
"Uh... yeah?" Kirishima said at the same time Bakugou screamed, "Shut the fuck up Deku!"
Denki's brain buzzed with the new information. Ha, buzzed. He shook his head. This wasn't the time for jokes, not that there was ever not a time for jokes but this was serious! His best friend was in trouble... maybe, or not. He didn't really know.
Point is, Bakugou didn't deny it was his favorite shirt. Blasty doesn't let people touch his stuff, ever. Why in the name of cockroaches would he lend his spiky haired bro wear his shirt, never mind his favorite shirt.
Kirishima beamed at Midoriya. "It's really no big deal. I just forgot to bring an extra shirt to my work out this morning and Bakubro luckily had a spare."
Midoriya still looked suspicious of the two. His eye's darted to Bakugou who gave him the middle finger and grunted roughly, lips upturning into a snarl. Denki's eyes shifted to where Bakugou's hand was curled into a fist, little sparks going off in his closed palms. They weren't the normal sparks he got when he was acting like a pissy four year-old. These looked like he was trying to hide them, or at least contain them.
Denki raised an eyebrow. Well that's interesting.
Before he could make any comment on it, Mina had lunged into a deep debate about which teachers were probably dating, causing the whole class to uproar into a heated argument. He side eyed Kirishima. This conversation isn't over yet.
-:-
It wasn't until after most of their class had finished breakfast and started heading off to do their own things that Denki was able to catch a moment alone with Kirishima.
"See ya later man!" he called after Bakugou who lazily waved his hand back at him over his shoulder. Denki ran up to his bro and jumped onto his back, a shit eating grin stretching across his face. Kiri, not even fazed, quickly grabbed his ankles and hook them around his waist so he wouldn't fall. So considerate. "What's up dude?"
"Y'know, the usual. Trying to mend my poor broken heart that was rejected again, making a plan for how Todoroki will steal his dad's credit card again and such." He answered.
Kirishima shook his head and chuckled. "Right, the usual. Where to?"
He grinned and pointed to the couch shouting with no shame, "To the couch of relaxation my trusty steed!"
He's pretty sure he rolled his eyes at that but he carried on anyways, taking him to his chosen destination. They plopped down on the couch and Denki sighed, sprawling himself across as many cushions as he could leaving Kirishima only a small space for himself.
"So... you and Blasty got something going on that I don't know 'bout, hmm?" He asked once comfortable, bring his hands to rest behind his head.
"What? No!"
And Denki might have believed him if it weren't for the way his bro's eyes widened and his voice got higher by several octaves. He couldn't help it. He burst into laughter. How could his voice even reach such an ungodly pitch? Maybe he should be worried for Bakugou. His ear drums should be ruined by now if this is how Kirishima reacts every time Mr Explodo is mentioned.
He wheezed and slapped his hand down next to him, which was where Kirishima's knee happened to be. The red head shoved him away. "Don't slap me man! And stop laughing!"
"What?" He asked, cocking his head to the side and batting his lushes lashes (he didn't know how girls managed to reject him with such perfect eyes, in his opinion). "You rather Blasty be the one to slap you?"
"I-" For once Kirishima seemed at a loss for words but the deepening red shade stretching across his face gave him away. He watched in utter glee as his bro adverted his gaze, looking like his mind had gone somewhere completely different from the chaos unraveling in the common room. Denki cringed. Maybe he should snap him out of it before he has to deal with whatever might happen next if he doesn't.
"You...?" he waved his hand urging him to come up with a good excuse. "...Like Bakugou?"
That got his attention and faster than he could think chicken (or maybe it's supposed to be duck?), a pillow was shoved into his face. Damn, he'd actually manged to convince Mina to let him use her foundation and eyeliner today. Goodbye glorious makeup. It wasn't meant to be.
When Kirishima had stopped trying to smother him and break his poor heart by smudging his make up, the other boy had leaned back on the couch and crossed his arms. "I don't like Bakugou."
He rubbed at below his eye, frowning at the black substance that smudged onto his fingers as he answered his friend. "Right, right. That's why you seem so delighted to be wearing his shirt. His favorite shirt at that. How'd you manage that, hmm?"
"Dude! It's not like that! I was just working out and my shirt was all gross and torn from some sparring and Bakubro gave me his spare, that's all!" Hands flailing about in a desperate attempt to explain himself, Kiri's face only flushed more.
"And you weren't having a total gay panic back there when you realized it was his favorite shirt?" He raised an eyebrow.
"No, man. It was just-"
"Really? Don't think I didn't catch you sniffing it!"
"Kay, maybe it is like that but not for him!"
Kirishima's eyes widened the moment he processed what he'd just admitted to. Denki blinked at him. Well... he didn't expect that. It may have been believable that his bro actually like the angry Pomeranian boom boom boy but he expected a little more denial. To admit it after such little teasing... damn. He must be in deep. Denki has more work than he originally thought. After all, it'd be rude of him to leave his best bud to drown.
"Well shit man," he said.
Kirishima snorted and shook his head. "I basically confess to you that I'm gay for my best friend and that's your reaction?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Horrible wingman."
"Hey!" He protested. "Let's not get too rash here. And what do you mean Kacchan's your best friend? He's your gay outlet, I'm the best bro!"
Kirishima's brow furrowed. He glanced down the hallway where the rest of there classmates had left down earlier. Denki watched a dozen emotions flicker across his eyes, non of them the happy ones he normally associated with Kirishima. His sharp teeth gnawed on his lip and Denki felt like he was biting at his heart.
Gods, why'd his bud have to look so... heartbroken. It didn't fit him, at all. More than ever before, he wanted to sucker punch Bakugou in the face. How dare he make Kiri look so sad and ruined. He probably would have marched all the way up the stairs (his nemesis) and given Bakugou the talking too he deserved if he didn't catch himself with all the memories he had of Kirishima's bright smile, always in his presence.
Looking at Kirishima, he knew that this disheartened expression on his face was only a blip. It'd go away the moment Kacchan walked into the room, replaced with a smile so gleeful it couldn't be faked.
Though he didn't understand them, Kirishima had reasons for liking Bakugou, and that was enough to keep Denki from losing his shit like some sort of yellow gremlin.
"How long?" The words tumbled out of his mouth, breaking the silence.
"Huh?" Kirishima met his gaze again, momentary confusing flickering across his features. "Oh. Um, a few months? I don't really know. Probably since the sports festival."
He whistled. "Damn. This just a crush or...?"
The red head shook his head, eyes trailing to wear his hands were fidgeting with the hem of his Crimson Riot tee. "I... I think it might be more. Crush just seems too, I don't know man, childish? I've liked guys before but this... I'm don't- ugh."
Denki watched in awe of Kirishima's flustered state. He lightly punched his shoulder in a playful manner. "Maybe it's just because he's the hottest crush you've had. Heck, I'd tap that if I could get past the fact we can't both be tops."
He snorted. "Bro, we both know you're a bottom."
"How dare you accuse me like that!" he mock gasped and press a hand over his heart.
"Pfft, like you would't totally follow Shinsou and Jirou around like a sick puppy."
"Hey! I don't- That's not- This is about you and you're hot crush!" He whined and threw the pillow that previously suffocated him at Kirishima.
This time he responded by looking off down the hall again. Denki wondered what he was thinking as he watched his face pull itself into a small pout, eyes softening. If that's what he looked like when he was simping then he never wanted to simp again (just has to figure out how to not do that now).
Kirishima sighed and closed his eyes. "I don't think it's just that he's hot dude. He's so manly and diligent and passionate and just ugh. He's aggressive but he's got this caring edge to it, which is about the manliest thing I've ever seen. And, gods, he's determined and tries his best at everything. His laugh too, have you heard it? It's like... I don't know, what an earthquake would sound like if it could laugh."
He really tried to contain the laughter. He really did. But what the heck was he supposed to do when Kirishima spewed out that stuff?
"An earthquake?" He choked on air as he struggled to pull himself together and keep a straight face. "Oh man, you are in so deep, dude."
"Shush, this is why Mina knew and you didn't."
"You told Mina and not me!?" He screeched, truly offended this time.
"I haven't told anyone but you bro, don't worry." He patted his shoulder in reassurance.
He sighed and leaned against him. "Thank gods, I thought I was going to have to find a new best bro."
"I thought we clarified Bakubro's my best bro," Kirishima argued.
"Nah, he's your future boyfriend, therefore I get best bro privileges."
His face fell again. Denki internally groaned. Why can't he keep his friend happy and smiling? How does Bakugou do it? Maybe he should try scowling more and threatening to kill people. Throw a couple bombs in some peoples faces.
Wow, Kirishima really does have the worst taste in men.
"He's not my future boyfriend, we're just friends," Kirishima said. "Even if he was into guys, it's not like he'd actually like me. He's Bakugou and I'm me. There's only platonic feelings on his side."
Oh if only Denki could slap the sense into this oblivious boy. He'd of thought after spending the past two years together, he'd have figured out that Kirishima was always dense as a brick, a very hard brick, when it came to other peoples feelings towards him. Always cutting himself short. And they say Denki's the idiotic one, pfft.
"Do you think sharing clothes isn't gay enough for you?" he demanded. 'Course, their were a dozen other reasons why Bakugou was definitely crushing on Kirishima at least a little bit, but that was the first reason that came to mind and wouldn't plunge him into an hour long rant.
Kirishima fiddled with the hem of said borrowed shirt. "That's just homies helping each other out."
Oh so the homies card's being pulled out. Two can play at that game. He smirked.
"Will you believe me if I can give you six things you and Bakugou do that homies don't?"
"Why six?"
"Whaddya meant why six? Why not six?" He complained. "Just agree to it. I want to prove that you and Blasty are meant for each other!"
Kirishima rolled his eyes but stuck his hand out for Denki to shake. Grinning, he took his bro's hand and shook. Red eye's boar into his own. "You're not going to win this, you know? He just wants to be friends."
Denki gave a shit-eating grin. "We'll see 'bout that."
And that's how the most torturous month of his life started.

Homies don'ts
1. Sharing clothes
-:-
It had been a week and he had nothing. Bull crap. Nadda. Zilch. Whatever other words mean nothing. He wan't going to give up on his bros but he really really wanted to at this point.
Honestly, he thought that finding reasons why Bakugou liked Kirishima was extremely hard. Every time he thought he had something, Kirishima would just deny it and shrug his shoulders, claiming 'Bakugou's just like that, dude'. Denki wanted to pull his hair out and scream because fuck, they so obviously like each other and he can't even prove it!
So yeah, he's dead. Let the gods take his soul knowing he died doing the best he could.
He groaning, he slammed his head into the table. Across the room Sero shouted at him, "Kaminari! Don't damage your brain, dude!"
Bakugou, stirring rice in a pan at the common areas kitchen stove, snorted. "Like he has any left to damage."
"You try having a quirk that fries your brain cells every time you use it, Blasty!" He pouted.
"I'd use it better than your weak ass!" He retorts, a smirk growing on his lips. "You couldn't handle my quirk anyway."
Denki can't help the chuckle that erupts from in him. He watches as his friends take up conversation among their groups while he sits in his misery. Why did he thing he could take on a task like finally getting together Kiribaku (Mina came up with it) when he can't even figure out his own love life.
Because you thought it'd be easy.
This. This is why he doesn't tune in with his logical side. It's always attacking him. The utter betrayal.
Besides his evil conscience, he smacks his head on the table for a third time in the past six minutes. He idly wonders if he can smack himself to death so he won't have to deal with the now apparent impossible task.
Kirishima is too self-deprecating for his own good, denying and making up excuses for every positive action towards him, and Bakugou, on top of all his probable emotional baggage and aggressiveness, is too stubborn to admit anything. Even the angry males hints and clues that he does drop are the subtlest of the subtle. The combination of clueless and discrete creates a never ending cycle of chaos that Denki can't begin to unravel.
However, unraveling that mess is now his new miserable purpose in life.
Sero, Mina, save him! Please! Let him be whisked away in the arms of Shinsou or Jirou, he doesn't care which as long as he's away form the thunderstorm he's been caught in.
His prayers must have been heard, for Mina sat down next to him, a reassuring hand, with freshly painted nails of the colour yellow, resting on his own. Her black eyes settled on him, worry crossing her features. "Kami, tell me why in the world you are sitting with your hands crossed like that." She gasped. "Have you finally taken our advice to pursue religion and douse yourself in holy water at whatever horrid thought crosses your mind?"
"No," he sighed, "I will forever belong to the spirits of the memes."
"And we all pay the punishment for it," Tsu commented, making her way over to the couch and plopping herself down next to Shoji.
He gasped and pressed a hand to his chest. And to think he once thought they were friends, shameful.
"No but really," Mina interrupted his thoughts. "What's your problem?"
Just as he was opening his mouth, Kirishima decided to finally make his entrance, bee lining straight for the boy stirring rice, only stopping to wave at some of their other classmates and mutter some greetings and compliments.
He moved to stand next to Bakugou, peering over at what he was cooking. Denki watched their lips move as words were exchanged, too quiet for anyone else to hear. Bakugou brought his hand up to slap Kirishima on the back of his head when he tried taking a piece of the food he was preparing.
Denki sighed, head falling into his arms on the table. He jabbed his thumb in their direction. "That. That's my problem."
Mina followed his gaze, her mouth forming a silent O. "I see." She paused, eyebrows (done to perfection, he must say) arching. "Scratch that. What am I supposed to be realizing."
With some hesitation, he whispered, "They are so are in love with each other."
"Are you jealous?!"
"No!" He slammed his hand over her mouth, shooting glances around him to see if anyone had heard. He sighed, everyone is too caught up in eating and relaxing after a long day of training to pay attention to Mina's usual loud volume. "Be quiet. You have to promise not to tell anyone what I'm about to say. Got it?"
She nodded fiercely and cautiously, he drew his hand away.
"Look. I'm trying to get them together. Or at least prove that the other likes them and so far the only thing I've managed is too piss off Bakugou for snooping around in his room."
The true realization dawned on her and she looked unable to contain her smile. She shook Denki's shoulders. "This is perfect!" She whisper shouted. "You came to just the right girl. I will gladly help you!"
"Trust me, you don't want to get involved," he warned but she wouldn't listen."
"How bad could it be?"
Extremely? So much so he was debating running away to America in hopes of escaping them? So bad that after a week he'd failed to come up with even one more Homies Don't's? So dreadfully horrible that-
Wait.
What's this Denki sees?
HOLY SHIT!
"Mina! Mina! Look!" He shook his friend, pointing desperately across the table to where Kirishima and Bakugou had moved to. "I found another Homies Don't!"
"A what?"
"Just look!"
Kirishima was eating Bakugou's food. The food Blasty guarded so dearly with his life. The same rice and chicken he'd been preparing for the past ten minutes, hogging the kitchen. Not only that but they were. Sharing. It. Like civilized human beings! Like homies but so so very gay!
The blonde was listening as Kirishima ranted about his day, an odd look of interest so unlike Bakugou resting on his face. He, almost like it was motor memory, would take a few bites then hand the chopsticks to Kirishima who took them without even registering it, taking a few bites before passing them back. All the while they sat so close their shoulders were bumping from time to time.
Denki had to stifle a delighted scream. Finally! Something so clearly gay and not at all homie-like.
Sure, it wasn't something that would convince Kirishima completely but, c'mon! Bakugou, who despises sharing unless it's sharing bruises, was letting him eat his food! Food he would never share with anyone, only ever letting Kirishima taste it every now and then! With chopsticks! They were sharing chopsticks!
"How is he not dying from the spice?!" Mina whisper yells in his ear.
He tilted his head to the side. She's right. Kirishima hates spice, unlike Bakugou who puts it on everything, to an excess. Normally he'd be sputtering and yelling for milk or water by n-
He didn't!?
He wouldn't. Bakugou wouldn't just not put spice in something unless he WAS MAKING IT FOR KIRISHIMA! That's why there was so much of the food. He intended to share it in the first place. He was basically spelling out his confession in his own Bakugou-like way and Kirishima was so oblivious!
He turned to Mina. "Please tell me I'm not the only one reading 'Gay' in bright rainbow blinking lights above their heads?"
"You're not."
He nearly yelped as the sound of Hagakure's voice startled him. With a twinge of guilt, he realized he hadn't noticed the invisible girls presence in the seat next to him, despite her wearing all her clothes.
The two girls broke into a fit a laughter and he sunk back into his thoughts, with mild embarrassment. He watched a ghost of a smile work it's way up Bakugou's lips as the red head next to him laughed. He couldn't wait to tell Kirishima.

Homies Don'ts
1. Sharing Clothes
2. Sharing food

Of fucking course Kirishima didn't believe him.
"That's just something friends do," he'd said, rubbing at the back of his neck. "It's not special."
Denki had wanted to pull his hair out. He still wants to pull his hair out. Didn't his bro know Blasty well enough to understand that 'it's just what friends do' doesn't apply to him? Bakugou's 'just friends' was telling them to fuck off and make their own food. Bakugou's 'I'm in love with you but don't know how to say it' was making food specifically for someone, in the way he doesn't like it, and sharing it!
Nevertheless, he would prove to Kirishima that his feelings are returned. The new Homies Don't had re-inspired him and reminded him why he was doing this. For the love of two people! For the love of all humanity!
Still, things felt difficult. There were dozens of things Denki caught himself noticing about Bakugou and Kirishima now that he was paying attention to them. They'd go to the gym together every morning and spar for the first few early hours of the day. Kirishima was always the first to jump in and calm the angry blond down, and he didn't seem to show much resist as soon as the red head was involved. Bakugou would accompany him to and from classes, always walking closer than most people did.
Some days, Bakugou would make dinner for the two of them, or just for Kirishima and every time, after hearing Kirishima's laugh, seeing his smile and the joy he takes in eating Bakugou's proclaimed heavenly food, Blasty would give a small smile of his own and seem so much calmer that evening.
Bakugou's liking for Kirishima wasn't the only thing blatantly obvious for him now but Kirishima's feelings too.
He noticed the way his gaze lingers when Bakugou comes back from an intense session of training, covered in sweat and a line of grime and dirt on the lower half of his face, outlining where his mask had covered. Often, Denki had gleefully trotted over to Kirishima's side, if he wasn't already at it, and snicker a lewd remark in his ear to which he'd earn the hilarious sight of a flustered Red Riot.
Beyond the loving stares Kirishima gives whenever Bakugou is cooking, working out, shouting, studying or really anything the blonde does, Denki also had found himself catching the little sticky-notes Kirishima leaves all over the place. How he didn't notice the neon pieces of paper so bright they could blind a person (actually they're probably why Bakugou is always squinting at everyone and everything) before baffles even him.
When he says they're everywhere, he's not exaggerating. They are in the fridge on tubaware containers ("Diner was awesome! Thanks Bakubro!" "You need nutrition for your intern with Miruko today!"). They are hidden on the sleeves of Bakugou's jackets ("Even the manliest of people get cold!"). Heck, they are even on the underside of the table in the common room ("You flipped the table again huh? If you broke it I have cash under my mattress" "No one needs to 'DIE' man OK?").
The best part is when Blasty makes replies in neat writing, looking worthy of the queens attention when compared to Kirishima's chicken scrawl. They vary from almost calm, 'I know, Shitty Hair.' to hectic responses like 'Deku needs to DIE!'.
Denki wants to scream sometimes because, dammit! How do they not know they aren't just homies! They're gay! For each other!
He just needs four more reasons and then, all this agony can be over and his bro's can date.
-:-
"Kaminari~" Mina yelled in delight, falling into the seat on the couch next to him. She rested her chin on his shoulder and nudged him.
He turned his head to look at his wild friend. "Yes, Mina darling?"
She scrunched up her nose at the nickname but continued anyways. "You'll never believe what I saw." She grinned widely and held her phone out to him. "Bakugou. Blushing."
He gaped at the photo on Mina's screen, his mind blanking. There, on the phone was a photo that captured the perfect moment. Kirishima was sitting across from Bakugou, smiling like an idiot, showing off his sharp teeth. The shocking part was the small smile on Bakugou's face, the slight quirk of his lips. His face was a deep shade of red, the angle of the photo clearly catching his flustered state.
Denki stared at Mina. "How did you get this?"
She smirked. "Oh it wasn't much trouble really. Just at the right place at the right time. You'd be surprised how much they don't notice when they're too entranced with each other."
"Oh believe me, I know." He handed Mina back the phone after sending it to himself quickly. He stood up from his seat. "This helps a lot, thanks! I have to go show him now! He can't ignore this clear evidence that Bakubro likes him!"
"What evidence that I like who?"
Oh fudge puppies.
He turned around to face the one and only Bakugou. Awkwardly, he shifted on his feet and waved. "Uh, hey Kacchan. How are you? The suns really shinning today, huh?"
"Don't avoid the question."
He nervously laughed and pushed Mina in front of him. "Ah, look at the time. I gotta go but I'm sure Mina will be more than willing to tell you! Bye!"
With more speed than he had used in the past week, he dashed off down the hallway he knew led to Kirishima's dorm was. Part of him felt guilty for leaving Mina back there but what's the worst that can happen? She's a better liar than him anyways. If any of them have a chance of not being blown up by the blonde, it's probably her. He is always complaining about how Denki is too annoying for him. What does that even mean? He obviously loves him, who wouldn't?
Rounding the corner, he reached Kirishima's dorm room and knocked. His foot bounced on the floor impatiently. When the door opened, the red head to one look at the sly expression he wore and sighed. He gestured for him to come in. "Just tell me what the new thing is."
He happily entered, taking seat at his bed. He lay with his arms spread across the covers leaving Kirishima no choice but to sit at his desk. "Basically the homies don't that I found, well Mina found, is this whole thing that she took a photo of." He started to explain. "So, I was sitting on the couch in the common room minding my own business and thinking about that new restaurant that opened up by my mom's house. Have you tried it? It's really good. My mom loves the stuff. She took me there a few-"
"Kaminari," Kirishima cut in. "Summarize, please?"
"Oh, right. I should just let you take a look at the photo," he said whilst opening up his phone and handing it over to him so he could see the pic. He watched as his spiky bro's face took from a blank expression to one that looked fond and admiring. Yep. He's so whipped. Oh gods, he hopes he doesn't look like that around Jirou and Shinsou.
His bro looked up from the phone. "What's so special about this?"
"Bakubro's blushing! Blushing, Kiri!" He waved his hands around frantically. "That's not a thing he does!"
"People blush for all sorts of reasons!" he argued. "When they've been working out, which we had been doing a half hour before this was taken or when they're mad- which is fitting for him- or when they're embarrassed but not-"
"Or when they're flustered!" Denki jutted in. He threw a pillow at his rock buddy. "Just admit that he likes you! You two are meant to be together! Poprocks man!"
"Pop what?"
He waved his hand in a dismissing manner. "Mina's ship name for you guys but that's not the point!"
Kirishima sighed, setting Denki's phone down. Running a hand down his face, he said, "Listen, Kaminari, I appreciate your help and all but it's just not worth it. Katsuki doesn't like me and it'd be unmanly of me to let you continue this hopeless chase to prove he does. I'm sorry man but-"
"Hold up! Backtrack." Denki held up his hands. He can't of heard that right. "What did you just say?"
"It'd be unmanly-"
"No! The name." He had to of heard wrong. He'd never of thought he'd hear that name from anyone but teachers. There is no way Bakugou would let anyone but his mother call him-
"The name...? Oh. Katsuki."
Fuck the homies don'ts! That alone is enough! How is the red head in front of him so incredibly oblivious! If Bakugou had written 'I love Shitty Hair' in neon yellow on his forehead it would not be more clear than this. Poor Blasty. Denki can only imagine how hard he is trying to prove to him that he likes him. He supposes it's his own fault for liking possibly the most clueless person in their school. Wow and he thinks playing wing man is hard, playing the actual love interest sounds like way too much effort. Maybe he should hold off on trying to win over his crushes hearts.
His ran his hands through his hair. "You're telling me Bakugou, Mr All-of-you-extras-are-undeserving-of-calling-me-even-my-family-name himself, lets you call him by his given name...?"
"Uh, yeah?"
"And you didn't think to tell me!?" He stood and started pacing the dorm room, ignoring Kirishima's concerned gaze. "This is huge! He just lets you call him Katsuki! This changes everything!"
Kirishima shifted awkwardly in the desk chair. "I wouldn't say that man."
"No, shush." He put a hand over his mouth. "You and your dense oblivious brain have no say in this matter." He took a deep breath. This was definitely something he hadn't expected. "You do know what calling someone by their first name means, never mind that someone being Blasty, right? It shows how close you are with them! Listen to your man Chargebolt, I'm right when I say he likes you."
Kirishima pulled his hand of his mouth. "It shows how close we are a friends. I don't want to run that Kaminari so just drop it."
He stared at him for several moments. He didn't like that given up look in his friends eyes. It wasn't fair. Kirishima, for all the manliness he has, is too insecure and under confident in himself. If anyone deserves to have a boyfriend, It's him and yet he can't seem to accept it. He understands that fear in losing a friend over a crush, he's felt that, but he knows this is more than just a crush for Kirishima. He also knows what a special bond him and Bakugou have which is exactly why he has to prove to him they work together. It would be a waste to watch the two of them sit in their own silence and never get what they should have with each other.
Sighing, he walked to the door now sensing that this conversation was over. He glanced back at Kirishima. "Fine. I'll drop it for now but as your best bro and wingman, it's my duty to make you happy. Bakugou makes you happy and I know I come off as a bit of an idiot but I know you make him happy too. I'm not going to give up getting you two together... See you at dinner."
He closed the door and left. Kirishima may have lost confidence in himself but what else is Denki for but to lift his bro up in his time of need?

Denki was pleasantly surprised when he discovered the fifth Homies Don't. It was a week later and he was sitting on the couches next to Kirishima who, bless the mans pure heart, wasn't mad at Denki for their earlier disagreement. It was after training and they were both sore from all the workouts Aizawa-sensei made them do. Denki's bones were screaming to just die already. He doesn't know how he's going to break it to them that they still have to help him build those shelves for Jirou's dorm later.
"Oh man. I could really use a hot tub right now," he complained. Beside him Kirishima nodded.
"At least your quirk doesn't depend on hardening your body. I get so sore after training." He wiggled around his shoulders as if to untighten some of his muscles. "When we weren't in the dorm rooms at least I could have had my Ma do massages for me."
"Your Ma's a masseuse, right?"
"Yeah. It's really useful. Mom says I'm spoiled to have her." He laughed.
Into the common room came Bakugou all by himself. He spotted the two of them and walked over, hands in his pockets and slouching like usual. Denki wonders how he thinks he can be a hero when his back will be ruined when he's older. He sat down next to Kirishima, seemingly ignoring the bright smile the red head gave him. "What are you extras talking about, huh?"
"Our bodies have given up on us!" Denki exclaimed, flopping dramatically on his back. "They betrayed us, bestowed on us this agonizing pain that simply won't go away!"
Blasty stared at him liked he'd just fallen from the sky, blinking in confusion. Kirishima nudged his shoulder. "He means we're just super sore from all that training Aizawa made us do. I was talking about how it was nice when my Ma would give me massages to help."
That was when something strange happened. Denki watched the encounter very closely, looking for tell tales that Bakugou like him when the blonde shrugged his shoulders and said, "I know how to do massages."
It's really unfair that Bakugou can somehow do everything. Ugh, he'd be such a ladies man if he swung that way. Girls dig a guy that can take care of himself and her. Well, he supposes other guys dig that too but that's not the point! He was blatantly asking Kirishima if he wanted to have a massage! Okay, not blatantly but as blatant as one can get with Bakugou.
"Move over Ei," Blasty said when Kirishima still hadn't gotten what he meant. Denki tried not to awe at the nickname. He shoved the red head off the couch so he sat on the floor in front of Bakugou. Kirishima blinked a little dazed. He looked to Denki. He mouthed 'I don't know, man' to him when his eyes seemed to ask what the heck was going on. Bakugou grabbed his shoulder and lent down so his mouth was closer to his ear. "Where does it feel tightest?'
"Uh... o-on my shoulders." Kirishima's face was as red as his hair. Denki wanted to laugh and probably would have if he didn't know it would only further embarrass his bro. The poor guy look like he might combust. Not that it's unreasonable. Denki would probably be in a very similar if not worse state if Shinsou was the one giving him a massage. That boys hands were a work of art, he can only imagine what Bakugou's hands are like, given his quirk and all.
He watched Blasty dig his thumbs into certain muscles on Kirishima's back, kneading and loosening them. The most amusing part to him was that Kiri was already shirtless, like usual. He isn't sure whether Bakugou would be mad or glad that the guy he has a crush on typically has his abs on display (perfect abs in Denki's opinion, Gods, he wishes he had abs like his bro). Probably both.
Hiding his face in his sleeve, he snickered at the image of a flustered Bakugou having to put up with shirtless Kirishima all day. He watched with a small smile as Blasty worked on Kirishima's shoulder. A sigh of relief released from the red heads lips as the muscles unwound and then it finally seemed like the explosive blonde realized how intimate his actions were. His hands hesitated for a moment before going back to massaging.
Denki stood up. Yeah no, he's going to leave. As much as he wants to see his friends get together he rather not fell like he's third wheeling there. He should probably also attend to his own muscles. Maybe a hot shower would do the trick.
Creeping out of the common room, he dashed off to his dorm. If there was one thing he could gather from that experience, it was that their was no way those two weren't obsessed with each other. He's got to tell Mina... and maybe he should check on them later.
-:-
When he came back down into the common room, Kirishima and Bakugou were still there in a slightly different position. Bakugou was wrapped in his best bro's arms while Kirishima had his head tucked in the crane of the blondes neck. They were softly whispering to each other under their breath, completely ignoring the show that they'd probably set up on the TV. Denki had smiled and took a picture of them. He left quickly before he could be spotted and ruin the moment. They really did fit together, literally. All the more reason to get them together.

One more. Just one more and then Kirishima will have to believe him! And even if he doesn't, Denki will force him to confess to Blasty or he'll do it for him. He'd prefer if Kirishima just confesses. He doesn't really want to take an explosion to the face, thank you very much. In truth, he hadn't expected to find the last Homies Don't so fast. He guesses that's the perks of recruiting more people to his cause.
Mina and him had hunted out their most trustworthy (not really) classmates to help with their cause. This included, Uraraka, Tsuyu, Hagakure, Shoji and Sero. Okay, so maybe they just picked the students who are probably the best at getting information but that doesn't matter. Denki just hopes Kirishima doesn't kick his ass for telling his crush to so many people. Scratch that. He hopes Bakugou doesn't kick his ass for telling Kirishima's crush to them. He prays he can convince him that it's for the good of their soon to be perfect relationship.
Denki tossed his pencil up in the air and caught it for the fifth time that morning. Aizawa is an awesome teacher but it gets extremely boring waiting for him in the mornings before class starts. In front of him, Ojirou looked like he might fall asleep. Mood.
"What's got you using up all your brain cells?" Jirou asked as she took her seat. He really likes the boots she's wearing today. They're pretty sick.
He shrugged his shoulders and grinned. "Just preparing for my death."
She snorted, a small laugh bursting from her lips. He liked her laugh. "Is that so?"
"Yes ma'am." He saluted and she shook her head muttering a 'whatever you say' under her breath. He felt someone tapped his shoulder and turned around to see a floating uniform. Grinning, he greeted the girl standing there. "Hey Hagakure, can I help you? Don't tell me you got your license suspended again for driving all the guys here crazy?"
The invisible girl giggled, her glove coming up to cover what must be her mouth. Jirou snickered to herself and poked him with her pencil. "You're such a flirt."
He flashed her his award winning smile. "Don't worry. My heart belongs to you dearest Jirou." And Shinsou with his purple eyes. Wait, does he have a thing for purple? No. This is not what he should be focusing on.
"Actually," Hagakure said, "I came to show you something I found for your project."
Project. The code word for the Homies Don'ts. He sat up straight. "Really?!"
She nodded. "Come see me after class and I'll show you."
"Sweet, thanks. You're the best!" He called as Hagakure went to her seat just in time for Aizawa to walk into the class. He tried to ignore the way Jirou eyed him suspiciously. He sank a little in his seat. If there's one thing you don't want it's a strong girl like her to be wary of you. Luckily for him, it doesn't seem like he'll have to go very long on her 'sus list'. He almost had the last Homies Don't. He just has to make it through the next six hours of classes. He's got this... maybe.
-:-
"So what did you find?" He asked Hagakure almost immediately after class. It was harder than usual to pay attention in class. He had been thinking about what she might have to say the entire time. If it was good enough then this would be the end of the Homies Don'ts. His two best bro's would finally get together and his suffering would be over. Maybe that's a tad too dramatic but what the heck! Life isn't fun without a bit of drama!
"Well this morning I saw Kirishima leave Bakugou's room. I think he thought the hallway was empty because, uh, I'm not the easiest to see." Her gloves wound together showing that she was fiddling with her fingers.
His eye's widened. "Did they...?"
"No." Figures. It doesn't seem like them. "I don't think so. I was going to see Shoji when I saw Kirishima. I asked him and he said his room's right next to Bakugou's. He heard them playing video games until two in the morning so I doubt they did much else."
He nodded his head. "So they had a little sleepover. That's so going on the Homies Don'ts list."
"Uh, no offense but isn't having sleepovers normal?"
"Yes but this is Bakugou we're dealing with," he pointed out. "If he lets someone sleep over, and especially in such a small dorm room where him and Kiri probably cuddled and slept in the same bed, dorks, it counts. I'll have to ask Kirishima the details if it's really going to count. Do you know where he is?"
She pointed in the direction of the sparring areas. "Last time I checked he was going to train."
"Okay, thanks! This helps a lot!" He called over his shoulder as he already started running to the sparring area. Everything was falling into place. If Kirishima answered correctly then this would be it! This was perfect! Poprocks might finally sail!
Skidding around the corner, he pulled up to where the training rooms are. He rushed for the door and just about ripped it open when he paused. Through the small glass window in the door he could see Bakugou and Kirishima inside. They were sparring like usual but this time Denki noticed they were laughing, both of them. Blasty was smiling, even as Kirishima came at him with a particularly hard tackle, managing to knock them both onto the ground. His bro quickly pinned him claiming victory. Through the door he could hear their laughing, watching their smiles widen. Bakugou's laugh didn't sound malicious, it sounded... happy.
He smiled to himself. He doesn't care what Kirishima says, about both it only being a crush and Bakugou not liking him. They're both so clearly in love.
Just as he was about to walk away he saw something he truly didn't expect. He heard the laughing stop. Kirishima had leaned forward and so had Bakugou. He watched with narrowed eyes. What was- ah! This is not happening!
"What in the name of All Might and all his adopted children is going on in here! Tell me you did not just kiss!" He yelled as he stormed through the door.
Kirishima scrambled off of the blonde who'd yelped in surprise. Suddenly he regretted making that entrance when he saw a very flustered and angry Bakugou Katsuki storming towards him. He squeaked and ran for the door but Bakugou was faster, skirting around him so he blocked his exit. He glared at him, raising his crackling hands. "Oi! You fucking asshole. Where do you think you're going, huh?"
"Katsuki, relax," Kirishima butted in, resting a hand on Denki's shaking shoulder. This is it. This is how he dies. Tell his mother that he loves her. Kirishima frowned at him. "Kaminari, do you mind if we go have a conversation over there where Katsuki won't kill you."
He nodded, words not really working at the moment. His bro guided him over to the other side of the room leaving Bakugou to stand alone in his anger at the door. Denki couldn't ignore the feeling of his angry glare burning in to his back. He gulped. Thanks gods for Kiri or he's sure he'd be dead.
Kirishima turned to him when they were far enough away to have a conversation without being heard. He eyed the red head for a moment. "I hope you know making out isn't what homies do 'cause if not-"
"Yes, I know that kissing Katsuki isn't a friends thing. Hear me out, okay?" Kirishima sighed and ran his fingers through his spiky hair. "I- I lied to you and before you say anything, I know it's not manly. Katsuki and I are dating but we wanted to keep it under the wraps, that's why I wanted you to get off my back about the whole Homies Don'ts thing. The first time I told you off, after the whole blushing photo, that was serious. I didn't think he liked me but then I thought about what you said about first names and I asked him why he wanted me to call him Katsuki and well... he called me a dumbass and kissed me and uh, now we're dating but you can't tell anyone. Neither of us are exactly ready to have the class know."
Honestly, he wanted to pull his hair out. They've been dating for nearly a whole week and didn't think to tell him, the one who's been trying to get them together for weeks! The utter betrayal. He's been writing a list of things homies don't do and he should have added lying to each other.
He looked up at Kirishima and saw him waiting patiently for an answer, worry clear on his face. He sighed. This isn't about him. He said, "I'm happy for you guys. I guess you didn't really need the whole Homies Don'ts thing anyways."
"No! 'S not like that!" He protested, waving around his hands. "Without the list I don't think I would have realized that Katsuki liked me back. I know it sucks that I didn't tell you and you put in all that effort and still probably would have tried to find two more Homies Don'ts but know that we really appreciate what you did. Even Katsuki's grateful."
"Actually I came here to tell you I had six now but-" he raised a finger to silence Kirishima before he could ask any questions- "I'm just glad you two figured out how in love both of you are."
"I wouldn't say love..."
"I would." He grinned and bumped his fist into his shoulder. "And clearly I'm never wrong."
"Never wrong? How'd you do on that math test?"
"Never wrong when it comes to love!"
"Mhm. By the way, how's that whole Jirou Shinsou dilemma going?"
"That's just me being confused not wrong!"
Kirishima laughed and shook his head. Denki let a small part of him pride himself on a good job done. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw Blasty McSplode staring at his bro. Of course. That boy is whipped. Ha, who's he kidding, all three of them are whipped. He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder. "When are you and Blasty going to tell everyone."
"Give it a few weeks." He swung an arm around his shoulder. "But never mind that, lets go see if we can convince Katsuki to not kill you and instead make us some ramen."
Denki happily agreed. He was glad his friends had sorted their stuff out. Now he just has to wait a few weeks to tell Mina and Sero.

It was not a few weeks as Kirishima had said. It was a few days. Truthfully, Denki doesn't think they meant to be found out. Bakugou just apparently can't contain himself.
They were goofing around in the common rooms as they waited for Bakugou and Sato to finish up cooking dinner. He was chatting idly with Midoriya and Kirishima when the two chefs had started dishing everyone. Kirishima was waving his hands around to help tell his story about why his hair was down that day.
"... but when I went to the store they said I'd have to wait at least a week for more gel and now I have to deal with this floppy mess for the rest of the week," he complained.
Deku tilted his head. "I thought you didn't mind having your hair down?"
"I don't mind but I prefer it up. It's going to be a hassle to do training. Guarantee I'll forget elastics to put it in a ponytail. Then I can't see - oh thanks Kat- and it's a struggle to actually get stuff done and... why is everyone staring?"
Midway through his explanation Bakugou had set down Kirishima's food in front of him. The part that had caught everyone's attention was as he set the bowl down he'd kissed the top of Kirishima's head. The blonde froze on his way back to the kitchen as if he'd just realized what he'd done. Denki swears he heard a quiet 'fuck' come form him. Everyone may be used to the first names but they were not used to that, the whole physical affection thing.
He couldn't help it as he broke out laughing. Bakugou glared at him and horror dawned on Kirishima's face when he too came to his senses. Denki laughed so hard he felt of his chair. His hand flailed around the air as he tried to grip onto the table to help him up. "Hahaha! Oh this - ha! - this is hilarious. So much for hiding it for a few weeks, hey?"
A yelp left his lips when Bakugou slapped him on the back of the head. He didn't really care, this was gold. The table erupted with a flurry of questions from their classmates, many of which asked if the pair were dating. He almost felt bad for Bakugou who was fuming in the corner, face bright red. Out of anger or embarrassment, Denki was sure it was both.
"Everyone calm down! Can we at least explain?" Kirishima asked at the same time his boyfriend yelled, "Shut the fuck up you assholes!"
Sure enough, everyone listened. Kirishima sighed and was about to speak when Bakugou cut him off. "Shitty Hair and I are dating, if you have a problem with it go die."
There were some murmurs around the tabled while Kirishima face palmed himself. Denki was having a blast. Sadly, he had to contain his fits of laughter to some degree otherwise he's certain Bakugou would have blown up his face already.
"What my boyfriend means is that we're dating and we were really nervous about telling you all so we planned to hide it for the first little bit," Kirishima said. "Which clearly failed so uh, we'd appreciate it if you guys respected that we're in a relationship."
There was chorus of agreement that rung through the room. Midoriya raised his hand shyly. "I hope you don't mind me asking but why does Kaminari seem to already be aware of this?"
"He helped us get together."
"Fucking asshole caught us once."
Midoriya frowned. "So which is it?"
"Both," the couple said in unison.
Denki smiled as the rest of the class dived into asking them a bunch of questions. Bakugou looked like he wanted to die. He did a good job getting them together, if he does say so himself. They deserved each other and he's glad he had the chance to help them realize it. Also, it's funny watching Blasty squirm.
"Hey." He looked beside him to see Jirou standing there shifting on the balls of her feet. He grinned at her. She smiled back, sheepishly. "So you helped them get together?"
He nodded giving her finger guns. Why'd he do the finger guns? "You bet ya! I've got a knack for proving people are meant to be together."
"Oh good because I was wondering if maybe... this is kind of weird but," she lowered her voice to a whisper and Denki felt his heart pick up. He knows he shouldn't be getting his hopes up so high but he couldn't help it. Here his crush is, talking about getting his help with something romantic! Is this it?
Jirou met his gaze. "... maybe you could help me get together with Yaomomo?"
Someone to his left spit out their drink.
He felt a slight pain twist in his chest. With... Yaomomo... He fidgeted with his hand at his side. It's not the worst thing that could have happened. He kind of figured she'd reject him in the end anyways, at least he knows there's a good reason. Now he won't make a fool of himself and ask her out but... well it still hurts a bit.
His gaze slid to the person who spat out their drink and saw Shinsou sitting there looking like he was trying to pretend to not have just done that. Was he eaves dropping? He shook his head. That's not where his mind should be right now. He turned his attention back to Jirou. He forced a smile. "Sure. I... I'd love too."
"Really!?" Her eyes lit up and she pulled him into a hug. "Thank you Kaminari. It means a lot."
He closed his eyes, soaking up the hug. Part of him was sad but another part of him was happy he could help her somehow. It just isn't meant to be and that's okay. He'll help her with this because he wants to see her happy with Yaomomo. It's the least he can do. He pulled out of the hug. "You're welcome. Come by my room later tomorrow and we can discuss something, okay?"
She nodded before running off to join the others in questioning the newly established couple. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. This'll be interesting.
He heard someone walk up to him and glanced to his left to see Shinsou standing next to him. The purple haired boy smirked, amusement playing on his features. As much as Denki likes him he's not sure how to feel about his other crush being there at the moment.
"You looked like a kicked puppy," he said. He scoffed and started to walk away. "This is exactly why I don't go for girls."
Denki's face heated up. So he was eavesdropping and he dared to say he look like a - wait. DID HE JUST SAY HE DOESN'T GO FOR GIRLS?!
His eyes followed Shinsou out of the room as he stood there completely bewildered. Oh fuck. This can't end well.
