Chapter Text
Nobody really liked Mineta that much. To be honest, nobody knows why or how he’s still in the hero course. Maybe because of their favorite teacher, Mr. Aizawa, not seeing any of the stuff he does, or maybe because nobody wanted to report what he did. It’d look bad on their records should they fail to get him kicked out, and his family had more than enough influence to ruin the careers of anyone who spoke up. So nobody did.
Tsu didn’t tell anyone what happened at the USJ for a while, until Midoriya asked about it today. He just walked up to her at lunch, and brought her to a secluded area in the hall saying the bare minimum. As soon as they stopped, Tsu spoke up.
“Is this about you being a gay mess, ribbit?” Midoriya’s face flushed with red at the declaration, stammering out denials at incredible speeds. “I’m joking, calm down. What’s up Midoriya, ribbit?”
“I-If it’s alright with you, I wanted to ask about what happened at the USJ, with Mineta. I was thinking about it, and what he did was really messed up.”
Tsu cocked her head to the side. “Which part are you talking about?”
Midoriya started to twist his thumbs around each other. He hung his head for a bit, before raising it again. There was a fiery determination in his eyes. “He took advantage of the terror of the situation and groped you. I saw it out of the corner of my eye, but didn’t think too hard about it until recently. You winced when he touched you, before slapping him under the water. Sorry if this part is prying too far, but he’s tried it again and you’re quick to knock him away. You don’t really wear tight clothing and if something brushes up against your chest you wince slightly. You also don’t really like front on hugs, but you’re fine if someone side hugs you. Is… is everything alright?”
Tsu’s eyes were wide. She didn’t think she was being that obvious about it. Then again, Midoriya is pretty insightful. Her thoughts were interrupted with Midoriya’s stuttering. “I- sorry, oh god I went too far, I’m sorry, you don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, I’m sorry-“
“Midoriya, it’s fine. Ribbit.” She put her hand on the boy’s shoulder. “Just… promise to not to tell anyone about what I’m gonna tell you.”
He had a confused look on his face, and Tsu took that as a promise. “The reason I’m sensitive about my chest is because I’ve been on estrogen this past year and a half, ribbit.”
Midoriya’s face widened in surprise, his mouth slightly open. “Wait- are you- are you saying-“
“I’m a trans girl, yes. Ribbit.” She had been wanting to come out to someone, and she had planned on coming out to Ochako later that day, so she was fine with this development. Midoriya looked down for a bit, then looked up with small tears in his eyes.
“You- you’re like me?”
____________
After talking with Midoriya (who was apparently transmasc, which Tsu had no clue about), she had a growing curiosity about why Midoriya brought this up all of a sudden. Her questions were answered by none other than Mineta (or ‘grape bastard who was waiting to get popped’, as Bakugou had started calling him) walking into the common area at around one in the morning. Tsu was lying on a couch, talking with Midoriya. They went silent when they heard the footsteps, and his behind the couches as Mineta walked into the kitchen area. A few minutes later, Kaminari walked in too, and their voices could barely be heard.
“What did you wanna talk about, Mineta? Is this another dumbass plan to get into the girls’ room?” Kaminari sounded exasperated at the oddly short grape boy, who responded in a loud whisper.
“Is it true? That Kirishima is gay?”
“Mineta, for the last time, why do you care so much?”
“Because I’m scared! What if he tries to do something in the locker rooms to me?!”
“Wha- Mineta, what the fuck?”
“What? I’m sorry I’m not comfortable around a fa-“
“Woah woah woah, what the fuck dude?!” Kaminari whisper shouted, interrupting the boy’s careless use of slurs.
“What, don’t tell me you’re one too?” Mineta scoffed. Tsu and Midoriya peeked over the couch, and saw Kaminari walking away from Mineta angrily. “Look Denki, I’m just afraid of those fags assaulting me in the changing rooms! What’s wrong with fearing for my innocence?!”
“Shut the fuck up, Mineta! You don’t get to call me that, you prick!” Kaminari was all but shouting. All four of them heard a door open and footfall going down the stairs, and they saw Jirou standing there in her pajamas.
“Wha-“ she was cut off by a long yawn, and rubbed her eyes after it. “What the fuck are you two arguing about now?” The bags under her eyes spoke volumes of how annoyed she was to be woken up.
“Sorry Kyo, Mineta was-“ Kaminari started, before being cut off by Mineta.
“Your boyfriend over here is defending Kirishima for being gay!” Mineta looked scandalized. Jirou and Kaminari just looked at Mineta, shocked, before Jirou walked up and slapped Mineta.
“First off, you rat bastard, he’s not my boyfriend. Second, he was doing the right thing. Third, I’m also gay you troglodyte.” Mineta looked for words, before slightly composing himself.
“It’s different for you, you’re a lesbian!” Jirou, even through the dark, looked downright pissed off, as she stormed up the stairs with Kaminari following. Mineta muttered and followed suit a minute or two later.
Tsu turned to Midoriya, who was looking pensively at the ground. After a bit of silence, she pulled him into a hug, ignoring the pain in her chest as he cried lightly into her shoulder.
____________
Midoriya was going back to Tsu’s room with her when he heard a light sob come from Jirou’s room. They looked down the hall, and saw the door slightly creaked open. Tsu patted his shoulder and said “I’m gonna go to sleep, ribbit. I think you should comfort them.”
Midoriya nodded and tip-toed over to Jirou’s room, hearing a few more sobs and mumbled words of comfort. As he knocked, he heard both stop suddenly, and light footsteps as Jirou opened the door and stuck her head out, looking unamused at the interruption. “What.”
“I, uh… was downstairs for what Mineta said, and I just wanted to say… you’re not alone. Neither you nor Kaminari. I’m bi, and…” he swallowed. “...and transmasc, what he said hurt me too-“ he was cut off by Jirou pulling him into a big hug and dragging him into the room, where Kaminari lay on the bed sprawled out, eyes red and strained. He looked up to Midoriya, looking tired.
“You too, huh?” Kaminari sat up, legs crossed as he rubbed his eyes. “It’s dumb, I thought I wouldn’t let what Mineta said get to me anymore, then I just had to let Kyo convince me to wear a skirt. And then boom, I’m a girl! Except I can’t be, because my parents are so against the existence of gay or trans people, they’d disown me if I came out. And, it’s just- sorry, I’m rambling…” Kaminari stretched their limbs, slumping against the wall. “So… needless to say, I’m sick of that fucker.”
Midoriya looked at them wide eyed. “You- you’re also…?” He nonsensically mutters as he drops down in the nearest chair out of shock.
“Yeah, found out about a week ago when Kyo convinced me to wear a skirt, and I just kinda… exploded with euphoria.”
“I’m so glad I’m not alone.” Midoriya muttered, walking up and hugging Kaminari. “What do you want me to call you?”
“I don’t know honestly… I like the nickname Kami, but I’m not sure of a legal name…”
“I’ll use Kami then. That's alright with you?”
“Yeah, thanks.” Kami sniffled, and rubbed the tears out of her eyes. She looked up to Midoriya with determination in her eyes. “Let’s get that bastard kicked out of UA.”
