So its 3:48am and Mikey may have forgotten to fall alseep. But it wasnt his fault exactly, he just got caught up in this new show that he would definitely talk about with one of his brothers later.
He had just finished the first season and it was so good and Mikey was so tempted to start the second season he really was, but the better judgement won over, saying how he should sleep while he still has the time to.
And he was about to do that, until his stomach grumbled, well a snack wouldn't hurt right?
So with that Mikey snuck his way over to the kitchen, planning on getting a snack when someone in his view made him freeze, and he couldn't exactly hide either because they were staring directly at eachother, clearly unexpected to see the other.
"Hey Leo."
It's not exactly a shock to see his older brother awake at such an odd hour, they all had their sleeping problems but Leo got it the worst. But still the presence of his brother caught Mikey off gaurd.
"Hey Miguel," Leo spoke warily "What are you doing up?"
Hunger forgetten Mikey took a deep breath "Well I got caught up in this new show and I just finished season 1 and it was so good have you heard of it? Its called-"
And Mikey may have rambled about the show for a bit, looking through the fridge and cabinets looking for a snack, but no luck.
"And then she just teleports out before she could tell her! And man it was so infuriating because she was so close," Mikey claps his hands together to emphasize his point "So close to resolving her issues with Daphine but noooo the portal just HAD to appear!"
"Damn thats crazy." Leo says, taking another sip of his tea
"I know right! I mean-!"
"Shhh!" Leo interrupted, widening his eyes for a moment while looking at the kitchen entrance for any people awake other than him and his younger brother
"People are still sleeping."
"Oh sorry." Mikey whispered, slightly sliding his head in his shell in embarrassment.
It didn't last long though before the turtle wipped back around to put his face in a cabinet. "Do we have any snacks? I can't find anything."
"Nah I think Raph ate the last of then earlier." Leo answered, finishing up his tea before putting his cup in the sink.
"Aw man.." suddenly a thought came to the hungry turtle "Can we go to 7-11?"
Leo quirked a non existent eyebrow at his brother "at 4 in the morning? Are they even open at this time?"
"I know some that are open 24/7, shouldn't be that hard to find one right?"
Leo mulls it over for a moment, then sighs and looks at Mikey "Fine. Go put on a hoodie or something and I'll meet you back here in 5 minutes"
A newfound energy washed over the turtle "Ok cool! Be right back." And with that both turtles went to their respective rooms to get ready to go topside.

Leo and Mikey walked on the sidewalks of the city, possibly if they were with their other brothers or if the streets were more crowded then they would be roof hopping, blending into the shadows and all that.
But tonight was peaceful, not that many pedestrians or cars passed by, so the turtles were able to walk in the warm night air. Mikey was a few steps ahead of Leo, enjoying the scenery around him. You think a turtle would get bored of it after going topside with your brothers all the time but when your attention is more on your brothers, leaping from roof to roof, pulling all kinds of shenanigans, you dont really have the time to enjoy the sights and sounds the city has to offer.
And plus all the cool sights and colors gave him new inspo for his paintings.
Leo, the fast walker he is, catches up to Mikey, who seemed preoccupied on looking at the buildings and sky, tugging at his hoodie strings or simply twitching his fingers in the air.
Their destination isnt far off and they've been to it quite a few times before, but that was either with the other two brothers or during the day.
But now the two brothers could just enjoy their time, with the occasional ramble on Mikey's new favorite show.
Once the brothers got inside their destination they noticed the cashier was knocked out, easier for them though, less hiding required up until they have to pay.
"Alright I have 14 bucks so get a few stuff and I'll do the same."
"Oo can we get slushies?!" The box turtle asked, eyes lighting up at the possibility.
"Ok fine but we can only get one if we wanna get enough snacks."
"Ok sure."
And with that the two turtles diverged, hunting for their beloved snacks.
It didn't take long for them to meet back with hands full of snacks.
Doesnt take long for them to get a slushie either.
What DID take a longer time was them deciding whether or not to pay
"Wouldn't we be stealing tho?"
"I mean technically yea but there's a whole chain of 7-11s Mikey they'll be fine."
"What if they have alarms go off."
"Mikey I have never seen alarms in a 7-11 I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Nuh uh man I'm not risking it. And plus what if the worker gets fired?? We would have caused someone to lost their job!"
Leo groaned "Ughh fine we'll pay if it bothers you so much."
And so they did pay, after moment of ringing up the cash register the cashier looked to the turtles brothers, who were looking anywhere but the cashier.
"Why... are you guys green?"
Before leo could give a more proper answer Mikey blurted out "We do drugs"
Leo slowly turned his head to his younger brother, teeth gritting "What the fuck Miguel."
Well whatever Mikey just started he has to commit to.
"Psh c'mon man you know we're all in a dream so it doesn't matter anyways!"
Now the cashier was growing confused "What-"
"Listen man you should get at least 8 hours of sleep every day, maybe switch shifts with someone else if the night shift bothers you?"
"Wh-"
"WELL pleasure doing business with you, you should wake up soon tho k byeeee!" And with that the box turtle grabbed their bag of snacks and pushed his brother out of the store, leaving a perplexed cashier to probably pass out.
Starting to laugh Leo spoke up once they reached the corner, "Mikey the hell was that!"
Mikey wheezed "I don't know! That was the first thing that came to me and i went with it!"
Leo snickered, trying not to make a lot of noise "please that was dumb but so funny-" the slider stopped moving and crouched over, wheezing uncontrollably
Mikey started laughing harder too, leaning on his brother's shell to stable himself. The situation wasn't that funny in all reality, but the lack of sleep was certainly making the turtles think otherwise.
"Ok- wheeze alright-" The eldest of the two wheezed once more before composing himself, "Lets get home before the sun rises."
Leo waited a moment for his brother to calm down, handing him the slushie to hold while he was given the bag of treats.
Then the two began walking back to their sewer home in comfortable silence, occasionally interrupted by whatever thought came to their minds.
"Dude, spoons are just tiny bowls on sticks."
Leo stopped midway chewing of a twix bar, "What?"
"Speaking in French is just talking in cursive."
"Dude wh-"
"Why do our noses run but our feet smell?"
"...No I'm not doing this today." Leo smiled, but his eyes were fed up. "Mikey its... 4:36 in the morning, and I only slept like 20 minutes. You haven't gotten any sleep right?"
"Nope."
"Exactly. I'm not dealing with this tonight I will go deranged. Also how do you have more energy then me?!"
The box turtle just shrugged "I don' know. You guys always said I had the most energy out of the four of us."
"Yea yea you're right." Leo waved his aimlessly, letting the conversation die down into a small comfortable silence.
"Shit Raph and Don are gonna be so mad at me."
Mikey looked up confused at his older brother, "Why?"
"Cuz I we're supposed to be sleeping, you especially since you're brain is still developing n stuff."
Mikey frowned, "You know you're only a year older than me right? Your brain is still developing too."
Leo nodded, seeming like he actually forgot about that for a minute. "Well yea, but they're gonna get mad at me for taking us both out on something so small like snacks when we could be sleeping, Raph especially man he's gonna get into that motherly voice and be like-" Leo speaks in an overly exaggerated mother's tone "Leo you gotta be the responsible 2nd older brother bla bla bla"
Mikey giggles at the bad impression
"Well they wont know if we don't tell em."
"They'll know once they see the lack of sleep in you during the day or how you'll probably sleep in late."
"Ah you underestimate the power of my energy Leon." Mikey wiggles a finger at the slider
"Don't worry man they won't notice, my extra energy always kicks in when I stay up too late."
Leo looks a bit skeptical, only replying with an "mhm"
"Listen if I get caught I won't say anything about you, just about the show I watched and thats it!"
Leo rolled his eyes, still a little skeptical about it but decides to cut the conversation where its at, no point in bickering about it more
"Alright fine. Hey pass the slushie."
Mikey hands the slushie to Leo, which turns out to be way lighter than excepted, and when Leo takes a sip he knows it's almost about to run out soon, its fine anyways he didn't want it that much, Mikey was the one who asked for it.
As soon as a small yellow line appeared on the horizon the turtles made their way home, sneaking into the sewers and into their rooms, "Thanks for the trip tonight" Mikey whispered, eyes drooping as sleep finally got to him. Leo softly patted his brothers head, "No problem bro"
Mikey leaned into the touch for a moment before stepping backing and heading to his cutains "Night Leo."
"G'night Mikey."
As soon as Mikey stepped into his room he desperately just wanted to crash on the floor, but he knew from experience that wasnt comfortable so he hid his snacks under a box he hopefully won't forget, and practically fell into his hammock with his hoodie on, he cringed at the creaks the hammock made, but soon enough the soft swaying put him out, happy to have been able to spend some time with his favorite brother.
