“Dan, What’s that sound?”
Dan looked up with a confused expression. “What sound?”
“I hear it… almost everyday.”
Dan turned off the television and glanced at Tommy.
“I still hear it.”
“I’ll check the lab.” Dan stood up from the couch and went to the Testing Chamber but then he saw no experiment in place. “Trayaurus?”
“Let me check you. Maybe it’s your hearing going all weird.” He walked back and went in front of Tommy. He reached to the side of the android’s face.
“Wait-“ Tommy interrupted.
Dan pulled his hand back.
“It’s here…”
Dan was confused for a second before Tommy pulled him closer and placed the side of his head on his chest. His face warmed into realization. “Ohhh, my heartbeat. You’re hearing my heartbeat.”
Tommy hummed and wrapped his arms around him as if to keep him still on his place which Dan reciprocated.
By then, Dan found out hearing his heartbeat is one of Tommy’s favorite thing to do.
Sure, there are moments that Tommy hesitated to ask. Moments on movie nights, on the couch, Tommy would simply lay his head on his shoulder, slowly maneuver his ear closer to his chest but Dan simply adjust his posture to let him hear his heartbeat. The movie in front of them completely forgotten, Tommy managed to fall asleep while hearing the rhythm under his chest.
Dan would never be more thankful for
Trayaurus making such an incredible invention.
