“Hmmm….” Lena was doing the crossword puzzle on the couch, her feet in Kara’s lap as the blonde read a book. “I have a problem, Kiera. Only you can solve this last word clue…” Lena’s tongue wetted her dry lower lip as Kara looked up, peering cautiously over her book.
“I don’t— What do you need, Miss Luthor? Sure I can help.” Kara put the book on her side table. She was probably thinking this was going to lead to the bed room, with the way she perked up, Lena mused. She giggled as she leaned forward, and as soon as Kara reached over as well to kiss her, Lena pulled back just enough.
“Nine letter word.” She whispered. “Saves National City, resident hero.”
“I love you.” Kara murmured, still not quite caught up. “Wait, huh?”
““I love you'' is only eight letters, and it’s three words. Tsk, Ms Danvers. Surely you know this one. You take quotes from her all the time.” Air quotes around the noun. Kara finally pulled back, falling back onto the pillows and sighing.
“Bully.” Kara whined. “Just wanted a kiss and instead you want to talk about my alter ego.”
“I’m not sure alterations have anything to do with that ego of yours, Supergirl.” Lena teased her wife, pulling herself up from her side of the couch, using her feet in Kara’s lap as her leverage to keep Kara still.
“Love you.” She murmured. “You’re on the newspaper crossword. Feels good, yeah?”
“I know something that feels better.”
