The God and Her Angel

Summary:

3rd Life was shut down after a painful glitch was detected in those on their red life.
Lizzie was the first to arrive on the scene.

Notes:

Good afternoon! Let me feed more of the Smallishbeans fans with a fic! (Because tbh we need some more, please)

Tw for multiple eyes, biblically accurate angels in a human form, coral growing on body, phantom traits on a human, and I think that's it

Also, this is from an AU concept made up from the 3rd Life Server, but mainly from @/Ghastly-Ghostie on Tumblr!

Work Text:

When Lizzie had gotten the message that 3rd Life was being shut down due to a glitch to those on their third life, she rushed to the hub. She knew she wouldn’t be able to see Joel for a few days due to the Watchers quarantining them so the glitch doesn’t spread to other servers, but she didn’t care. She loved him, and if anything bad happened to him, she’d raze hell and her wrath upon whoever caused it.

Finally, it came the day when she could finally see Joel. She showed up at the facility where the 3rd Lifers were staying and signed in. She took a seat in the lobby while waiting for Joel. “Um… are you Mrs. LDShadowlady?” She looks up to see a young man in a white lab coat and black-rimmed glasses. “Yes, why? Is something wrong?” He hesitates, “Not exactly. You just need to see for yourself.” Blood red flares into her normally blue eyes as she stands, “What. Happened.” The intern gulps and mutters “I don’t get paid enough for this…,” then takes a deep breath. “It seems like your husband was one of the ones affected by the glitch on the server. I believe he would like to be the one to tell you what happened, however.” She stands up, a threatening aura radiating off of her. "Take me to him." The intern shudders under her gaze, "Right this way."

She follows the younger man behind the closed doors and found the 3rd Lifers, some of them looking much more different than she remembered them. Jimmy had coral growing from his shoulders and back, gills on his neck, webbing on his fingers, and fins on his arms. Bdubs had his spine showing, phantom-like butterfly wings, and a skeletal tail. Scar was seemingly phasing in and out of existence, shards of gems and rocks growing out of his skin, and with a giant wolf the color of the void laying on top of him on the floor.

But the one she was looking for was Joel. He was standing near the door and when Lizzie first caught a glimpse of him, she gasped, the red glow in her eyes dimming. He had five stark white angel wings growing from his back. He was dressed similarly to his Jeremyism outfit, a white toga with green and gold accents and a golden belt. He had eyes covering his arms, legs, face, even one on each of his wings. His original eyes were covered with a cloth, almost as though to hide them. "Lizzie?" He raises his head in the direction where he believes she is standing. "Oh Joel... what happened?" She rushes over, cupping his face in her hands, being careful to avoid any new eyes.

"Why are your eyes covered?" She goes to remove the cloth but he flinches away. "Don't. I've accidentally put Watchers under my spell, I don't want you to fall under too." She ignores his warnings and removes the cloth, showing his white-gold eyes and gold streaks running down his cheeks like tears. He squeezes his original eyes shut, "What did I tell you! If you look into them, you'll be under my control." Lizzie lightly chuckles, "Well, if you can put a god under your spell, you must be very powerful." He opens his eyes, looking confused. "I must have forgotten to mention... I just so happen to be the blood god! Surprise!" "Since when?!" "Since about Kingdomcraft and League of Villains... took one too many quests from Herobrine, I'd say. But you never exactly answered my question on what happened to you?"

He took a deep breath. "The glitch on 3rd Life happened to only affect those who were on red, and I was one of those people. The glitch gave each of us different modifications and powers. I think the glitch made me kind of like an angel. And then for my power, I think it's called divinity, but I put those who look into my original eyes under my control. Those I have under my control practically worship me, call me their lord, their messiah, their savior. It's kind of uncomfortable. And with my extra eyes, my eyesight's a lot worse. If I'm being honest, the only reason I know that it's you I'm talking to right now is that the blurry blob I'm looking at is a lot pinker. And I understand if you just want to lea-"

She cuts him off there, "I will never leave you. Especially not after this. This was outside of your control. And besides, you remember what we said, 'In sickness or in health.' I will never leave your side, my pretty little angel." She pulls him in and gives him a kiss. Then, she was interrupted by a loud 'Boof' from the wolf that was black as the void.

"Now, who's this pretty fella?" "Well... that's Skizzleman." "Oh"
