Chapter Text
Aether whirled his sword through the neck of a Fatui Skirmisher that dared to attack his and Lumine’s makeshift camp. Crimson blood rained on the fresh, crisp snow, and a choked grunt faded into silence as the enemy collapsed on the snow, unmoving.
A few meters behind him is Lumine, also taking care of the other Fatui members that startled them awake in the middle of the night. So much for a good rest.
They had been planning to head down the mountain and into the woods surrounding Dragonspine. Obviously their plans were canceled now as they had to restock on supplies.
Lumine growled in frustration. Finally, as they were about to leave this god-forsaken place, a gang of lowly mortals had attacked. Now, as she searched through what was left in their bags, she made a mental note to collect more mint and fowl.
“Hey Aether,” the younger twin called to the other. “We’ll need some more supplies. I’ll go and find some mint. We’re also out of fowl.”
“Got it, I’ll go hunting then. Though I don’t think that many birds will show up, now that a snowstorm is coming,” he commented.
They both look to the sky and, sure enough, the clouds are getting heavier and darker with the promise of snow.
“Just great!” Lumine snarled. “And now we’ll probably have to wait out another day or two.”
Aether huffs in agreement. He packed what was left of their supplies in their infinite inventory and shouldered the bag onto his back. It was an ordinary-looking backpack, and you wouldn’t be able to tell that it could hold anything and everything in it at first glance.
“I think there’s a cave not too far from here. When I find shelter, I’ll let you know.”
