Work Text:
As Hitoshi grew older, it became increasingly humorous, in an ironic way, that he was the one people thought was going to turn out a villain.
Y'know, considering that Midoriya Izuku, the golden child of UA, was an actual literal demon.
Oh, he didn't know at first, of course, and he wasn't certain for a while. But magic didn't lie, and if his mother left him anything, it was Magic; a tome only a proper Shinsou could read, passed down for longer then anyone could possibly know. Of course, she didn't get long to teach him, because life itself seemed to have it out for Hitoshi, but he'd work with what he had.
And what he had was a large book of spells that only only other witches could see, a lack of any real oversight, and a mystery.
So, half out of curiosity, he had laid out a summoning circle in his dorm room late at night, and quintuple checked the runes before proceeding. He was hoping to summon Midoriya and prove his theories right, and obviously confront the boy, but summoning a demon was tricky work; especially if he's wrong and summons someone else entirely, or if Midoriya's intentions actually are malevolent.
It was all but impossible to tell a Demons intent, from what he'd read, so honestly all he could do was activate a Twaz Rune and ask.
With that thought, he lit the candles and mumbled an incantation.
It goes....less dramatically, then he thought it would. The spell leaves his mouth in one blink, and in the next, someone is sitting in front of him.
"Oh?" The creature frowns, and blood drips down it's chin. It's eyes are one solid color, a green almost dark enough to be black, and deep enough to fall into forever. It's hair was a wild mix of green and purple, black horns nearly as curly as the locks swayed back over it's head. Almost curiously, it brought it's clawed hands (that led into familiarly scarred arms) up to inspect. "Huh. Well, good morning to you too, Shinsou-kun. Did you need something?"
Hitoshi blinked in shock, and took a moment to register the far too casual response to being summoned and restrained by a classmate. This....was his classmate, right? It had to be, even if it- he looked markedly different.
"...Midoriya?" He checked.
The demon laughed. It really didn't sound all that odd, but it sent a shiver up his spine anyway.
"Who else? Didn't you know that already?"
"I....strongly suspected." He admitted, pursing his lips and propping his arm on his knee to rest his head. "So. You're really a demon."
Midoriya nodded, heaving a heavy sigh.
"Unfortunately. On my father's side. And you are a.....witch, I'm guessing?"
Hitoshi nodded wordlessly, still justifiably shaken. He'd strongly suspected, but somehow he still didn't expect to be right.
"So......do you need anything?" Midoriya repeated, stirring uncomfortably in the awkward silence. He had a hand on his head, absently tracing his horns as if they were as foreign to him as they were to Hitoshi. How often did Midoriya take his Demon form? Now that Hitoshi was looking, he seemed....uncomfortable, more then anything else.
And he couldn't change back until he left the circle. Glamour counted as Demonic Magic, and the runes to forbid it were the first ones Hitoshi carved.
"I, uh." Hitoshi started, suddenly acutely aware of how awkward this was. He expected it to be more momentous, somehow, and the casual air of the room was throwing him off. "What are your intentions in UA?" He landed on, because he had a script going into this, if nothing else. Even if it sounded melodramatic, now.
Midoriya frowned, and his skin seemed leathery in texture. "I'm gonna be a Hero. It's a Hero school, Shinsou-kun."
"And that's it?" he prodded, focusing on the Twaz rune acting as a lie detector in his hand. It would start to heat up if Hitoshi heard a lie.
"Well, yeah?" Midoriya shrugged, confusion coloring his tone. The rune remained cool in his sweaty palms. "What else did you expect?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure." Hitoshi sighed. Stuck between fear, bemusement, and confusion, his hand only hesitated a little as it reached out to disturb the circle with a dagger. There was a popping sound, and immediately Midoirya slipped into his more familiar skin.
"So. What now?" Hitoshi asked, watching Midoriya stretch and wincing as he heard what had to be every joint in the greenette's body pop.
"Now?" The boy yawned, standing up and swaying on his feet. He shambles out of the summoning circle, rotating his shoulder. "Now I go to bed. I'm starting internships tomorrow, and if it goes wrong because I'm tired, I will rip your fingernails off."
Hitoshi swallowed nervously, and made a mental note to put a salt circle around his bed and reinforce the protection runes. Just in case. "Do you want a sleeping potion?" He offered, gesturing to a box.
Midoriya hesitated, but nodded, prying the box open. Curiously, he pulled out one of the small, thin cloth bags.
"It's warm." He commented, surprised. Hitoshi nodded.
"Barburry. so you don't have to boil the water. And then Phlox and Cosmos are for sleep. Floral magic." He offered, more then a little proud. If he had to pick, it was probably his specialty.
"Weak magic." Midoriya says, doubtfully, but he takes a pouch. Hitoshi shrugs.
"Only if that's what you think. Either way, better then nothing."
Midoriya conceded the point with a nod. "We're even." He states simply as he pops out of existence, no trace left behind. Hitoshi lets out a breathe he didn't know he'd been holding. Debts are an all too binding thing, he hadn't even realized he was worried about it until Midoriya dismissed it.
Shaking his head, he gets a glass of water, drops in an herbal sleeping potion of his own, and does some night time preparations while it seeps. Then, because he deserves it tonight, he throws the pleasantly warm drink back like a shot and passes the fuck out.
