"My my..."
Obito opened his only eye to find Kakashi outside the bath, holding a towel around his waist and a flirty smile directed at him. He briefly devoured the sight of his sweaty, toned abs before returning it to his face. His husband's own were twinkling in amusement.
Husband.
He really didn't know if the heat was the steaming water's fault or the blushing word itself, but Obito was still getting used to the idea that his best friend was now married to him. Something completely understandable after a whole life of feeling alone and unloved, and it would take a lot of time for the Uchiha to believe it was a dream he wouldn't ever wake up from.
Thankfully, he had Kakashi now to assure him everytime, for the rest of their lives.
"Hi there." Obito closed his eye again, not being able to help a soft smile in reply to his partner's.
The sound of the towel dropping to the floor was heard and little waves crashed gently against his skin as Kakashi joined him in the water. In a matter of seconds, two hands were holding his hips and pulling him closer to the newcomer body, finding no resistance.
"I thought mermaids could only be found in the sea. You come here often?" Kakashi hummed, nuzzling softly his face to show how much he had missed him the minutes they were apart.
"Your pick-up lines suck." Obito complained, but welcomed the affection by rasing his arms to put them around his neck. "And yes, they can only be found in the sea, not in an onsen. Besides, even if they could, I would be a merman, not a mermaid. Mermaids are female."
"The sexiest merman alive then," his partner's smirked against his cheek and leaned towards his ear to whisper "who just happens to be mine. Mine and only mine."
"It's something I still wonder about, you know." the Uchiha confessed suddenly, running his fingers through the back of Kakashi's hair as a distraction. Honesty was certainly a fundamental part of marriage and he was sure that his husband would get it and appreciate it once in a while. However, he didn't want to risk this beautiful trip being ruined by some silly insecurities he couldn't get rid of, so Obito added in a joking tone "Mermaids are suposed to have this beautiful singing voice to lure their victims into their traps, and last time I knew, my singing was shit. So how did that happen, Bakakashi? Care to explain?"
"Hmm, well... Maybe not your singing, but your voice when we are in bed certainly did the job." Kakashi decided to be a tease and got a surprised squeal in response by grabbing the firm flesh of the ass his husband always carried around. That gorgeous part of his body was not one of the reasons he married his childhood friend. Nope, not at all.
"You're kidding me, right?" His spouse refused to break their embrace and let go of his backside, so Obito could only gape at his silver head. "You can't possibly want to go again!"
"Come on now, Obi." the Copy-Nin reassured, using the pet name he loved and hated at the same time. It melted his insides in such an easy way, how embarrasing! "This is what newly married couples do, it's pretty normal."
"Yeah, but not here" the black-haired shinobi protested, trying to make Kakashi see reason. This perverted side of his was something he had seen coming long before the man himself did, and Obito was okay with it. Hell, he wouldn't be here right now if that wasn't the case, but that didn't mean he was shaped the same way, right? "This is where everyone takes a bath, Kakashi. Anyone could come in right now and see us doing..." He could feel it, his ears were burning by now "...it."
"My my, like I'd ever let someone, who isn't me, see you like this." Kakashi pulled back to give his husband a cheerful, closed eyes smile "And that, is why we have the entire bath to ourselves for the rest of our stay."
Obito stared at him in disbelief. "You booked it?" the other man nodded, and he made a choking sound, "I- How?"
"The owner happens to be an old friend of mine, gave us a big discount" the Copy-Ninja shrugged in a casual way, "and congratulations, too."
"Oh, that's great." Obito blinked, but soon a thought assaulted him. "Wait" his eye narrowed in suspicion, "Did you use to come here a lot before we dated?"
"I did," Kakashi conceded, "But that's not relevant anymore, do you know why?" His left hand cupped the part of his face he considered the most beautiful and caressed the rough skin with his thumb. As always, Obito caught the unspoken message behind it and his eye began to prickle as Kakashi rested his forehead on his. "Because my crybaby is the only one for me." He whispered next to his mouth.
"..."
"My, my. Are you crying, Obito?"
A soft sniff. "Shut up, Bakakashi."
