Work Text:
Imayoshi gets caught kissing Sakurai against one of the lockers three days after Winter Cup. To be more precise, they both get caught, but Imayoshi is the one who shoulders the brunt of the damage control because Sakurai’s a first year, Sakurai’s younger, Sakurai’s probably just a victim of interest, happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Wakamatsu is the one who makes the biggest fuss about it, spouts off something dramatic about being scarred for eternity and regretting all the important life decisions that he’s made up until this point. Aomine rolls his eyes and Susa looks the other way. Harasawa-sensei lectures Imayoshi in the office for ten minutes. Momoi laments the resolution on her camera phone.
“I’m sorry, senpai,” Sakurai tells Imayoshi when he comes out of the office. “It’s all my fault.”
Imayoshi only grins. “I’m graduating this year, you know,” he says to Sakurai. “So it was just something for you to remember me by. Or was that not good enough for you, Sakurai?”
When Imayoshi leaves them standing there in the hallway behind the gym, Aomine is the one who opens his mouth first. “It’ll never be this good again, will it?”
