Summary:

George and Dream go on a date...

Work Text:

Slow music emitted from around the large room, filling everyone’s ears and setting the mood. Pops of red on the curtains and part of the carpet lit up the dim room. Bustling workers rushed around, bringing meals to people’s tables. “Here’s your order, have a lovely. meal.” The worker said before rushing off to grab another order, barely giving enough time for the others to say thank you.

“Thanks for this Clay, I don’t know where I would be without you.” The brunet smiled warmly across the table, taking a sip of his apple juice before picking up his fork ready to eat the large assortment of food on his plate. He tried to take his mind off of the price that this would all come to.

“You welcome George, you know I would do anything for you right? You mean the world to me, you deserved this.” Clay reached a hand over the table to grab George’s free hand and rub at the knuckles, causing George to turn a slight shade of pink. The dim room made it hard for Clay to see but he still saw his blush cheeks and grinned widely. Truth is, Clay meant every word of it, George meant the absolute world to him. Everything the smaller did for him, this was just something to pay him back for everything he has ever done.

This is everything they could have ever wanted in life, just to be with each other forever. George had been working so hard this whole week... From recording videos and editing them, joining his friend's streams even if it meant staying up at an absurd time in the early mornings. Clay thought he deserved to feel relaxed hence why they were on a date in a fancy restaurant. George complained about the price of the restaurant, but Clay insisted that the other deserved it and it was his treat. Of course he deserved it... He was George.

Both of their eyes stared at one other Longley for a few seconds before Clay retracted his hand and began to pick up his own fork to eat, before he could even register what was going on George had reached over and took a part of his chicken. Typical George, but Clay wasn't mad one bit. “Hey!” Clay whisper shouted, not wanting to disturb the whole room of people who were just trying to eat peacefully.

George let out a soft giggle, placing the chicken in his mouth and chewing while smiling at the other trying to hold back another giggle. Oh, how Clay loved his laughs, in return Clay reached his fork over and grabbed a potato of George’s plate. “Guess we are even now.” George playfully glared at Clay, a few seconds passed before both of them were laughing. Not disturbing the whole restaurant full of people was now out the window.

One thing that the two could appreciate about the relationship they had, was that after becoming official nothing had changed between them. They were still their loud goofy personalities, always teasing each other and making jokes. It was also something that their friends had admired throughout the couple years that they had been together. The one thing that had changed was the amount of love they gave one another, before it was held back because they weren't together. Now they could both freely express their emotions towards the other, not feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

Half hour went by, the two talking about the memories that the two had shared. These 2 years had been amazing for the both of them. “Right, you ready to go?” Clay finally asked, eyeing the older up. George nodded and smiled, Clay calling over the waiter. The two decided not to have desert as it was getting quite late. “Okay and that will be $$$.” George began to reach into his pocket to grab the cash he had brought with him before being stopped. “Let me.” Was all Clay said before also reaching into his pocket to grab cash.

“But-“ There was no point reasoning with Clay as he knew he wouldn’t be getting his way. When Clay wanted something... He usually got it.

“No buts George, let me do this.” George pouted, silently waiting while Clay paid also leaving a tip on the table. The two sat there for a while before grabbing their things and walking across the red carpet to the exit. “Hope you had a good time guys, hope to see you again another time.” The women at the front desk had cheered. Clay and George warmly smiled before exiting the building, immediately being hit with a light breeze of air.

Hand in hand, the boys made their way down the nightly street, barely anyone outside as they walked further away from the restaurant and to their shared house. The two had moved in about a year ago after doing a year of long distance, it was hard on them definitely... But it was all so worth it in the end. “Thankyou Clay, I really needed that.” George had looked at the taller while saying. Clay stopped them both for a short second before pulling George towards him, wrapping his arms around the shorter boy and sharing a sweet kiss between them. George would never get used to this.

“Your welcome George, I just wanted to spoil you for the night.” George giggled slightly, resting his head on the other’s chest. George didn't mind staying here forever if they could.

“But you already spoil me.” George answered back, Clay glared at the boy in front of him.

“Not the point.” They both went into a fit of laughter before continuing to walk down the concrete path.

George started walking slightly slower now, beginning to note how tired he suddenly felt. Clay of course noticed this and stopped, positioning himself in front of the brunet. “Let me carry you.” He said softly, acting as if George was light as a feather. George widened his eyes and shook his head.

“No! I’m too heavy.” Clay smiled and rolled his eyes, pulling the smaller closer to him before picking him up. George squirmed around trying to get out of the other’s grip before realising he wasn’t getting out of this. Clay laughed at George’s attempts, gripping tighter onto the boy. Clay suddenly had an idea, securing his grip before grinning and spinning the boy around. "C- Clay!" George giggled out, some tiredness being wiped out of him as he was spun around multiple times. After a few seconds Clay finally stopped, looking down George in his arms, feeling as though he fit there just like a puzzle piece.

“I love you George…” Clay whispered, noticing George’s eyes closing slightly.

“I love you too Clay… always.”
