Chapter Text
Staring through the window, sitting on the bed, he waited. ‘Today’s the day, huh?’ He thought in his head. He had put all of his efforts into this day, the day he finally confessed and declared the feelings he had for a certain tiger boy. The reservation had been made, and a schedule had been made. Even himself is weirded out by how much he did. Maybe it because it’s his first time to have romantic feelings for someone? Who knows? All it needed now is the special someone, though that could be the only problem right now.
It’s already 30 minutes past their agreement. Kuro anxiously awaited some more. ‘Does he suddenly have plans for today? But Tetsu said that Ryuseitai doesn’t have any jobs at the moment…maybe an urgent unit assembly or something?’ He worried that all of the hard work he did for today would all gone to waste. Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door. Kuro’s eyes instantly shot up, ‘Is that Tetsu?’ He questioned inside his head. He stood up and walked towards the door. He opens the door with anticipation to see who it is and….
“Ah, Kiryu-senpai! Sorry If I’m bothering you, I’m here to pick up some equipment and papers I forgot for some DreamFes today.” It was his dorm mate, Mao Isara, the student council president of Yumenosaki Private Academy and a member of the unit Trickstar. “Oh, it’s you, Isara…” there’s a feeling of disappointment coming from his voice. “Were you waiting for someone else?” Kuro nods in affirmation, “I’m waiting for Tetsu right now, he should’ve come half an hour ago, but he hasn’t come yet.”
“Nagumo? He’s still with his unit mates. I saw them by the pond a while ago,” Mao explains while searching for his things inside the dorm. “They’re probably discussing an upcoming job. Is it urgent? I could go back and tell him to come here,” he said as he lifts some boxes full of papers and stage equipment. “Ah, no need. It’s not urgent at all.”
'So, today’s a failure,' Kuro despairingly thought. “Need some help with that, Isara?” “Ah, thanks for the offer, but it’s fine. I’m used to this,” Mao declines as he lightly kicks the door open. “I’ll be going now. See you later, Kiryu-senpai!” Mao then proceeds to walk, or rather, wobble through the dorm halls until…
*CRASH*
“WOAH!” Mao and someone else shouted in unison. The boxes that Mao brought were knocked up by the sudden impact. Luckily, Kuro managed to save one of the boxes that were filled with equipment. Unfortunately, he didn’t catch the other one that’s full of papers, so bountiful sheets of documents flew everywhere like confetti.
“Ouch…. Oh! Are you okay Isara-senpai?” Kuro’s ears twitched as he heard the familiar voice. Loud and energetic, though also a little cute (according to him). The flying papers gradually descended to the floor, revealing black hair with red streaks that match his hair and a pair of bright amber eyes. It was him, Tetora Nagumo.
“Ahaha…I’m fine, I’m fine, don’t worry,” Mao replied. “Oh, Nagumo! Perfect timing, Kiryu-senpai here had been waiting for you for a while now,” He exclaimed while pointing at the tall man behind him with his thumb. “Ah, Is that so?! Umyu… I was in such a rush to get here; I didn’t see what’s in front of me.” Tetora apologized. “It’s okay, really,” said Mao, “Though I might need help collecting these papers, it’s everywhere now.” He chuckled. Both of them started collecting the fallen documents and put them in the box. Kuro put down the other box and helped them as well.
After everything had been cleaned, Mao bid farewell to Tetora and Kuro and continued to wobble through the hallway. Tetora turned around to face the red-haired man, “I’m so sorry I’m late, Taishou!” He bows, “A man should always keep his promises, but it was a sudden emergency! Shinkai-senpai being stuck in the pond wasn’t helping either.” Kuro just smiled and gently put his hands on the black-haired boy’s hair. 'So cute,' he said in his head. “It’s alright, Tetsu. I’m already glad to see you here. I was we'd have to cancel our hangout together” He gently brushed the amber-eyed boy’s hair. “Now, let’s get going, shall we?”
The two of them went through the dormitory. Still, of course, after putting on some disguises, they don’t want fans crowded around them or Paparazzies trying to get a scoop out of their time together. Kuro wore rimless frame glasses, with a red polo shirt and black boot-cut jeans. He also styled his hair to be slightly slicked back. Tetora, on the other hand, wore a black beanie, a plain white T-shirt with a tiger’s face motif on the backside, and knee-length brown jeans to go with it.
Before, Kuro planned a stroll around the dormitory. But because Tetora was late, and the whole mess with Mao happened, He decided to skip that agenda and go straight for lunch. “So, what do you wanna eat for lunch, Tetsu?” He guessed that Tetora would likely have meat for lunch, specifically kalbi, which is his favorite food after all. “I know a place!” The black-haired boy exclaimed. “There’s a meat restaurant just around the corner. I tried eating there before. It was so delicious!” Seeing him so enthusiastic made Kuro smile and chuckle. “Alright then, Tetsu, lead the way.”
The place has a pleasant atmosphere. It’s modern-looking, with some interesting decorations like lava lamps and little succulents on small shelves on the wall. The lighting from the ceiling is quite relaxing for the eyes. Overall, it’s a comfy place. They both sat at the table next to the windows. “Uwaa~ everything looks so good~” Tetora looked at the menu with a bit of drool in his mouth. “Fufu, you can order as much as you want, my treat,” Kuro said. While he confidently said that, he hoped that Tetora wouldn’t freeze his credit card.
Kuro isn’t really hungry. He ate some snacks his little sister had sent him while waiting for Tetora back at the dorm. Though looking at Tetora blissfully eating the meat they ordered already made him full enough. His cute face while munching the meat, his expression lit up when taking a nice bite out of the meat, 'dammit Tetsu, why are you so adorable' He thought. Tetora noticed Kuro didn’t eat much of the meat. “Why aren’t you eating Taishou? Is the meat not your taste?” He said while chewing some meat inside his mouth. “Nah, the meat was definitely delicious as you said it was. Though you shouldn’t talk while you’re eating, Tetsu. Where are your manners? You even got some meat here.” Kuro reached out his hand and wiped some bits of meat on Tetora’s left cheek.
In response to Kuro’s sudden action, Tetora’s face turned red like a tomato. “WAWAWAWA!! T-Taishou! I can do it by m-myself, yanno!” He panicked. “Haha, you’re overreacting, Tetsu” Tetora “hmph” s away as he continued to gobble up the remaining meat. Kuro let out a small laugh at Tetora’s reaction to his teasing. “You’re so cute, Tetsu,” Kuro said nonchalantly. “I’m what Taishou?” Tetora didn’t hear what he said. “No, it’s nothing. Keep eating, Tetsu.” He quietly sighs in relief that Tetora didn’t catch what he said.
After the lovely lunch that they had, next on Kuro’s plan was to stroll around the city and see sighting the never-ending busy city street. “Oh, Taishou! It turns out tonight there’s gonna be a super blood moon tonight! Fits your unit and name too, don’t you think so, Taishou~?” Tetora looked up from his phone. “Is that so? Never heard of it before.” Kuro’s a bit worried about this. A rare natural event means that people would gather around to see it. He’s afraid that they’re not going to have a romantic night under the moonlight alone tonight. Suddenly….
“Buchou! Buchou!” someone shouted in the distance. Both of them turned to look at who’s the source of the voice. Slowly, they can see red curly hair and a pair of cyan eyes. “Eh? Hiiro-kun? What are you doing here?” It was Hiiro Amagi from the unit ALKALOID and a fellow karate club member in Yumenosaki. “I could ask you the same thing too, Buchou! What are you doing here in the busy city with…Kiryu-senpai?” Hiiro’s quite unsure about who’s the man besides Tetora. “Yo,” Kuro responded. “Ah, so it is Kiryu-senpai! I couldn’t recognize you with how you dressed up.” Then, a blonde boy ran up to them.
“HIRO-KUN!” he shouted. He was Hiiro’s unit mate, Aira Shiratori. “Don’t run off like that! I was so worried that I’ll have to make a missing person announcement if I lost you!” Aira said while taking his breath from the sprint he had done. “Ah, I apologize, Aira. It’s just a pleasant surprise to see Buchou here!” Aira turned his head, “N-Nagumo-senpai an-and Kiryu-senpai?!”
“So, you two were hanging out with each other, huh~? How Rabu~ly,” Aira said. Hiiro and Aira decided to tag along, much to Kuro’s disappointment. Though seeing Tetora made new friends made him a bit happy for the tiger boy. “Aira and I were also strolling through the city. I’ve never seen a place so crowded and busy before, so Aira is here to be my ‘Tour Guide,’ as he said.”
“We ate some ‘Ice Cream’ together and went to an ‘Arcade.’ It was so much fun! We even took some pictures in the ‘photobooth’” “Sounds like you two had a fun date together,” Kuro teased. “A…’ date’ ?” Hiiro tilted his head in confusion. However, his blonde friend had a far different reaction. “HUH!? I-It’s n-n-not a date, Kiryu-senpai!” Aira panicked. Tetora just laughed as the others had their banter.
“We’ll be going now, Buchou, Kiryu-senpai!” Hiiro waves at his senpais. “Have fun on your date, Hiiro-kun!” Tetora replied. “I said It’s not a date, Nagumo-senpai!” Aira was flustered. Kuro just chuckled and watch as the other two boys part ways. “It’s getting dark, Tetsu. Let’s go back to the dorm.” To be honest, Tetora felt a bit down that their “Hang out day” came to an end. Seeing the shorter boy’s expression, “I have something for us tonight. Clean up, wear your best clothes, and let’s meet at the gates at 7 pm.” Hearing that made the amber-eyed boy’s mood brightens.
Inside Tetora’s dorm, the tiger boy is getting ready for his dinner. He bathed, combed his hair to look less spiky and wild, and even wear the fancy suit he only used for guest shows or official meetings and dinners. “Ara-ara, what’s this~?” Tetora’s dorm mate, a member of the unit Knights, Arashi Narukami, took a look at Tetora’s unusual get-up. “Who’s the lucky person that’s gonna have special dinner with this handsome dorm mate of mine~.” Tetora felt a blush appearing on his face, “It’s nothing special, Narukami-senpai…It’s just a normal dinner with Taishou, that’s all.” “It doesn’t look like it’s a normal dinner to me though~. You look so fancy, Tetora-kun.” His dorm mate replied. “Well, I won’t poke my nose any further. Have fun on your ‘normal dinner,’ Tetora-kun, Onee-chan’s cheering for you~.” “T-thanks Narukami-senpai” he shyly replied.
He arrived at the gates once again. He saw a tall figure this time, wearing a fancy red suit and a pair of glasses he had seen before. “Ah, Tetsu, you’re here,” the tall man said. “Woah Taishou, you look…handsome,” he told the last part hesitantly. “Haha, thanks, Tetsu. You look good too.” They walked across the road and through the city’s nightlife, “Where are we going, Taishou?” “Just follow me,” the red suited-man replied. As said before, Kuro made a reservation for two at a fancy 5-star restaurant across a park. He read reviews to make sure that the place is perfect for them.
“I made a reservation by the name ‘Kuro Kiryu, ’ please,” Kuro said at the entrance. “Ah, Kiryu-san. A table for two in the VIP area, correct?” The waiter asked. “Yes, a table for two.” “Then right this way, Kiryu-san.” The waitress then leads them through the restaurant.
Tetora looked around. The place was truly grand. With tables that looked so exquisite and made of crystals. On top of it was a beautiful vase full of beautiful flowers. The chairs looked like thrones instead of the usual chairs with intricate patterns and ornate design. On the ceiling, a giant blue chandelier hanged on and lit the place up nicely. He couldn’t believe that Kuro had reserved such a place for their dinner.
The waiter led them to some stairs, “Up this way,” said the waiter. It turns out the VIP area is a balcony above the main floor. On one end rest a stage where a Pianist and Violinist played their instrument, creating a romantic air with their soft and sweet melodies. Kuro’s reserved table was near the end of the balcony, had a fantastic view of the park across and the sky above. They both took their seat and sat down, and looked at the menu.
Both ordered something with meat. Tetora ordered his favorite food, Kalbi, with some vegetables on the side, while Kuro ordered a wagyu beef steak. Kuro also ordered ice cream for desserts, but Kuro whispered something to the waiter before the waiter went away. Tetora was curious, though he decided that maybe it’ll be best if he didn’t know what.
They ate their food at a nice pace while also taking some glances while the other was occupied. A waitress came with the desserts. Although he already knew that they’d have ice cream as desserts, the cup was closed with a lid. The waitress then opened the lid and revealed the ice cream. But something seemed a bit unique about how the ice cream looked. One shaped like a cute tiger’s head with chocolate sauce for the whiskers, nose, and mouth, and a pair of tiny black candies for the eyes, while the other one looks like a dragon, with a pair of waffle rolls as the horns, strawberry sauce for the mane, and chocolate sauce for the face, and a pair of tiny red candies for the eyes.
“Woah, I don’t remember the ice cream looked like this in the menu,” Tetora questioned. “That’s ‘cause I ordered it to be like that. You can customize your ice cream here, pretty neat, huh?” Proud of his idea, he put the tiger-shaped ice cream in front of the black-haired boy. “As you can see, this one’s for you, Tetsu.” “Ossu! As gratitude, I’ll finish this ice cream ‘til there’s nothing left, Taishou! Uwaa~ It looks so cute. I’m sure Midori-kun would like to see this.” Tetora said as he took out his phone and took a picture of the ice cream. Just as Tetora was about to take the first bite, “It does look cute, just like you, Tetsu.” He suddenly felt a hand caressing his face gently.
Kuro’s sudden action made his eyes wide open, his hands trembled, and his face heated up. “Don’t mind me, go eat the ice cream, Tetsu,” the crimson-haired man said with a flirty tone. “O-os-s-su…” the amber-eyed boy was still shocked, yet he continued to eat his ice cream with a flushed face. After his little move, Kuro also starts eating the dragon-shaped ice cream. The younger boy, wanting to get revenge, grinned. “Taishou, you got some Ice cream on your face.” “Hmm? Where?” wasted no time. The tiger boy leans closer to the taller man and lightly kissed the man’s cheek, near the mouth. “Right there~,” the boy slyly replied. “T-Tetsu…how embarrassing,” The crimson-haired man said with a tint of red on his cheeks. Tetora just giggled at his accomplishment of getting revenge.
“Thanks for the meal! This is the best dinner I’ve ever had, Taishou! Thank you so much for all of this!” “Haha, pleasure’s mine, Tetsu. I’m glad we could have dinner together like this.” 'I guess this is the right time to say it,' Kuro thought. 'I’ll tell all of my feelings to Tetsu, whether he accepts or rejects it, I’ll face it,' Thought Kuro, full of determination. “Tetsu,” he starts. “There’s something that I wanted to say for a while now...” “What is it, Taishou?” Tetora raised his eyebrow. “I…Love-”
Midway through his word, the speakers on the floor rang. A voice spoke, “Attention, dear customers. Due to a super blood moon that will occur tonight, our managers had decided to open up the VIP area so that everyone can enjoy this rare natural occurrence. Please enjoy the view up there as much as you like.” The voice stopped, and seconds later, people crowded the area to take a good look at the super blood moon.
“Tsk,” Kuro said under his breath. He was obviously very frustrated. He planned everything for today. He wasted so much effort for today. He waited for so long just to say 3 goddamn words at the perfect moment. Letting nature get in his way wasn’t an option. He gritted his teeth, quickly grabbed Tetora’s hands, and started shoving his way out of the restaurant. He knew he could pay for the food later, but this was definitely more urgent. Tetora, who could only follow the taller man, was powerless as Kuro dragged him across the restaurant into the park in front of it.
The Park is rectangle-shaped, with walls of bricks surrounding it and a metal gate in the middle of each side. The Park has multiple paths, one big path that leads to the center of the park, and multiple smaller pathways that went all around the park. The big path had bushes lined up full of beautiful pink hydrangeas. There's a lake with a bridge made out of bricks that stretches above it at the park's center. The rail of the bridge was decorated with little lanterns that made a soft, radiant light.
Kuro stopped walking right at the middle of the bridge, “Ow, Taishou…you didn’t have to pull me that hard- Woah...” The black-haired boy looked up to the sky and saw a beautiful red moon above them. The moonlight enveloped them in a crimson atmosphere, swans gathered on the lake, Nightingales chirp. Together, they made the scenery felt like something straight out of a fairy tale. “Woah…this is so beautiful…Taishou-”
Not even finished with what he was saying, Tetora felt his right hand being held by another hand, slightly larger than his, and their fingers intertwined. While on his back, he felt another hand slowly pulling him forward. And lastly, Tetora felt warm, soft lips, touching his own. Eyes widened, face reddens, as Tetora saw the man, who he had always looked up to, his role model, gently kissed him by the lips with eyes closed. Moments later, the black-haired boy finally indulged the blissful kiss with his eyes closed, and he pushed his lips forward, wanting for more. Tetora felt something he had never felt before, love…
Their lips finally parted after what felt like an eternity, and both stared at each other with a soft face. “Tetsu...” The taller man said lovingly. The shorter boy went in for another kiss without notice, this time deeper and longer than the first. His left hand rested on Kuro’s right cheek before settling on the back of his head, nestled on his crimson hair.
Eyes opened once more, and lips parted once more, but the aftertaste of the kiss still lingers in each other’s lips. It was sweet as honey. No, even sweeter than honey, it was the sweetest thing they’d ever tasted in their entire life. “Tetsu…” The man with the red suit said, “I Love you, Tetsu. Ever since I graduated, I’ve seen you grow, better and stronger each day, even without me. On one hand…I’m proud to see what you’ve become. But at a price…of seeing you less and less, the loneliness I felt…grew bigger and bigger. I know it may be selfish of me, but maybe…just, maybe…” Tears started forming under a pair of yellow-green eyes. “I could be someone closer to you, someone that’ll always be with you through thick and thin, someone that’ll always…give you the love and support you deserved….”
“So..at the very least,” he continues, “I want to confess my feelings. It doesn’t matter if you choose to reject my feelings, Tetsu. A man should face failure head-on and move forward.” Quiet sobs can now be heard from the tall man, “But deep in my heart, I still hope that these feelings…came to you. So, Tetsu…please…answer me.” His sobs became louder, bit by bit. “Will you…accept these feelings of mine, and be together with me, Tetora…?” He struggles to hold back his tears, drenching the red suit he wore with his teardrops.
“Taishou…” Finally, the boy with the black suit responded. “It’s…not fair. Not fair…at all..” This time, water started forming below a pair of amber eyes. Without notice, he took off the taller man’s glasses and lean in for another soft but quick kiss. “You’re always so cool, Taishou. You’re the manliest man I’d ever met…I look up to you. But once, just once…I want to beat you at something…looks like I lost to you again tonight, huh…, Kuro-kun?” Hearing the smaller male called him with his name made the crimson-haired man’s eyes widened, tears flowing more and more. “So, my answer is…. yes.” the shorter male sobs. “I accept your feelings…Kuro-kun,” and they had their last kiss tonight, under the crimson moon.
“Taish- Kuro-kun, thank you for this amazing day.” “Anything for you, Tetora. Should I prepare for next time?” Kuro asked playfully. “I don’t know about that though, Taichou said that RYUSEITAI already had jobs for next week.” “It’s fine. Maybe I’ll start abducting you from time to time like Mikejima usually did to his little partner.” “Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, why did you still wear your disguise glasses, Kuro-kun? I know you don’t need glasses like Hasumi-senpai or Aoba-senpai.”
To be honest, before he waited at the gate. He was in such a rush and even tried to meditate to cool down. He probably wore the glasses again instinctively out of rush. But he decided to just go along with “Who knows~? But I do look good in one, right, Tetora?” “mou~ you’re so cheeky tonight. Anyway, I think I should be going now, need to get some rest for tomorrow.” Tetora pulled one of Kuro’s arms down and give a quick kiss on the lips. “Good night, Kuro-kun,” He smiled and winked. With a tiny chuckle, Kuro replied, “Good night, Tetora.” They both joined their foreheads together for the last hug before parted ways back to head back to their dorm room.
“Ara~, Tetora-kun, you’re back. HiMERU-chan said that he’ll be sleeping elsewhere, so I was waiting for you to come back.” Said his blonde dorm mate. Tetora went inside, changed into his pajamas, and immediately lies on his bed. “So, how did the ‘normal dinner’ went, Tetora-kun~?” Tetora let out a light-hearted sigh, “Alright, alright, Narukami-senpai, it wasn’t just normal dinner. It was a date night.” “See~ you can’t hide anything from onee-chan yanno~ Then how was the date with Kiryu-senpai, Tetora-kun?” “It was amazing. It’s definitely one of the best nights I’ve ever had in my life.” ” Good for you, Tetora-kun~ good for you.”
