Summary
This, in a way, is the closest he can get to the man he started as, whoever he was. To the boy who is still in him somewhere, who would read and draw by himself for hours on time, who got told off for being in his own head more often than not. In his life, he has to be aware of his surroundings so often, so careful about who he is and what he does and how he does it. In that context, making art like this is almost like a window in time. It's how he is able to remember how he felt during those long hours spent in his own head, almost a thousand years ago.
