Chapter Text
Time travel made him feel like he was about to puke. It was like flying with a rocket combined with the one hangover he'd had but ten times weirder and with blue dots dancing in front of his eyes and his sister in his arms.
Luther lost his other siblings out of sight a bit ago (minutes or hours it all probably didn’t matter when you were time traveling and being thrown around like a rag doll) but he was still holding onto her even when the blue swirls finally spit them out and he felt a pull on her.
No, he thought faintly. Not Vanya. I need to watch her, make sure she doesn't hurt anyone, make sure she doesn't hurt herself.
And then they fell and Luther still held onto her only letting go when his head hit against something hard and metal. She landed on him safe and sound and she was coming to, as Luther slowly realized that they’re in a garbage can. “We need to uh…”
Vanya whimpered when she looked down at him, backing away until she fell off the edge and landed on the ground. Luther got the thought that… Oh God. Oh God, she’s scared of me. Oh shit.
He couldn’t blame her for that. He really couldn’t. It still hurt though.
He jumped after her hoping that she wasn't hurt.
“Vanya… are you okay… Alright this sucks. I don’t know where Five is. We need to get out of the rain, okay? Please. I won’t hurt you again. I’m sorry. I’m sorry… I… sorry… I’m…”
“Who
are
you? How do you know my name? What do you want from me?” her voice was shrill and panicked.
Luther blinked. What?
“Vanya? I’m… it’s me… it’s Luther. Hey… please…” he breathed out. “It’s me, your brother. We’re
family
. I’m sorry,” he said, putting everything in it. He was. He was sorry for a lot of things and he was scared. What was he supposed to do? Where were the others?
“Luther? My… I can’t… I can’t remember
anything
!”
"Nothing at all?"
Vanya shook her head and starred at him with big fearful eyes.
Okay. Yeah. Shit.
He nodded his head.
“Alright. We’ll take care of that. We gotta find the others first okay?”
Vanya nodded lightly, sitting up and Luther offered his hand.
He looked around. “I don’t get it… where are the others?”
Vanya tugged on his sleeve. “Uh… Luther? We should get out of the rain…”
“The- Oh… oh right… sorry… uh… we gotta… uhm…” he looked around trying to find a dry spot. Looking back at Vanya who was looking at him with big desperate but trusting eyes, he swallowed. There was a lot of stuff they needed to figure out together.
“I’m sure Five will come soon. Pick us up from here and fix this,” Luther muttered quietly.
