Chapter 1: return to wizarding world.

Chapter Text

Alastor paused in his walk as a white figure flew down landing on his shoulder causing the demons around him to still eyes wide in both terror and surprise.

Alastor’s ears twitched for a moment as he felt a previously stretched thin and so very frail bond, re-anchor itself refreshed and strengthened within an instant as it flooded with strength.

his grin widening in delight at the feeling as his static purred.

his familiar is Back!

well hello my beautiful” Alastor greeted and Hedwig ruffled her feathers before nibbing on his ear carefully fixing a few wilder strands so that they laid perfect making Alastor chuckle deeply.

looking back at Hedwig he noticed that his inheritance had affected her as well. her feathers where paler seeming to hold a faint glow almost mist or snow like quality to it. her talons and beak thought where even darker then before and her golden eyes where alight in various shades of gold and yellow adding a distinct regal power... literally glowing but there was no hiding the sharp intelligence you can see glinting in them.

Alastor noted something else, along the primaries and secondaries as well as the tailfeathers where an icy blue and silvery edge with a eldritch n runic blended pattern that curled and twisted up from it before fading off. the pattern even glowed which reminded him of a patronus now when Alastor thought of it.

she looks like a spirit owl and was clearly not mortal anymore. so, unless someone intentionally killed her Hedwig won’t die, thought if she reformed if killed he didn’t know and didn’t want to find out either.

but her presence meant that time finally realigned.

Alastor hummed, and music restarted as he started walking again with Hedwig sitting comfortable on his shoulder

the demons or rather those that didn’t took off running, looked rather confused, baffled and seem to have problem believing what they were seeing, making Alastor simply throw them a bored glance.

It’s no secret that he’s magical, or did they think familiars where nothing but pretend or make belief rumor?

///

Alastor where taking his daily stroll, demons running from him in terror, the normal stuff, not that he can blame them from running he do eat sinners after all.

“eep!”

oh?” Alastor turned toward the startled yelp, to see wide large eyes of a house elf. one dressed very different from normal.

said elf where wearing what look like a tailored butler suit styled dragonhide armor in a peculiar mish-mesh kind of way. a brilliant Gringotts crest shone on the left shoulder.

the house elf quickly composed themselves if looking a bit startled at Alastor, as well as the surroundings.

“Gringotts respectfully wishes to inform you of an official summons, my lord” the house elf said out holding out an envelope for him to take.

how unusual” Alastor mused accepting the letter.

Dear Mr. Potter.

this missive is in regards that it has come to our attention that you’ve come into an high intense inheritance.

we request a meeting in order to sort out what your inheritance is, both from titles and vaults to or ancestor vaults that may have surfaced to whatever species traits and any magical traits you may have inherited.

we await your visit at your earliest convenience and your cooperation is appreciated.

Sincerely

Peverell account manager Sharpjaw

Gringotts Wizarding Bank

How intriguing” Alastor said out his grin widening causing the house elf to yelp.

now this will prove to become very entertaining” his eyes lit up snapping his fingers a letter took form crimson text writing itself in a instant.

rereading the letter for a moment before he folded it elegantly and handed it over to the elf.

“thank you my lord” the elf bowed before vanishing, and Alastor raised a brow in intrigue as he sensed that the soft house elf teleportation were ablet o move between worlds.

///

the letter arrives to Gringotts in a timely manner and is given first to a clerk assigned to screen all mail from unwanted magics, before being handed off to a courier so that it could arrive to the right office.

Sharpjaw stared at the letter for a moment not sure if he read right before he reread it.

greetings my greedy goblins,

I’ll arrive in a day or so to clear up the chaos of my inheritance, but manager Ragnarok will Need to join in on said meeting. if Ragnarok asks why just show him the letter, he’ll be there

you’ll understand when I arrive, it will be one hell of a surprise.

on the state of my birth accounts.

this is the first letter from Gringotts written to my childhoods name to reach me and that’s due to using direct means.

that means something’s off because I know I should have received letters form you before under that name. yet every single one I’ve gotten is under my current name I gained after my chaos awakening.

let your enemies heads roll and your gold overflow

formerly H.P currently A.M

the ancient goblin started to curse.

Lord Potter should have received bank statements since he was 11, if he hadn’t.

where had they gone? this will need investigation, and heads will roll if he discovers any fraud!

it was official response, Lord Potter even signed it with the insignia for both names. his childhood name as well as the current name Lord Potter had to have assumed after going thru a chaos awakening.

ignoring the text for a moment as Sharpjaw look in the letter’s material. specifically the magic woven thread making it flexible and durable making it very hard to damage, you can even wash it without any harm.

this was the sort of material they used for heavier contracts, or dealmakers use for the written form of their deals to make it official and generally keep track on what the deal include on both sides.

the ink quality was also woven with magic, making it even more official then having just both signatures.

added, there was a symbol a familiar crest. one of a deer skull at the lower corner, glinting in black, antlers stretching out causing part of the text to be written over it.

“hell of a surprise, he says” Sharpjaw muttered while he didn’t have a confirmation, that insignia and symbol is rather unique after all. he had suspicion of who Lord Potter had become considering he stated that Ragnarok was needed for the meeting.

///

Alastor hummed a tune as he walked thru a portal, reappearing in the human world before entered the alley and most didn’t notice his arrival.

some did, looking at him in curiosity yet some held judgmental gazes. why that would be he didn’t known, it’s not like they could tell who or what he really is as all they would see is his more human form.

as his eyes, ears, antlers together with his fangs were hidden making him more human.

‘Gringotts’ he thought seeing the large gates of the impressive building, white shimmering stone and gold decoration. an building of a complete different style and might then any other colorful wacky appearances.

walking up the stares and entered, his dress shoes clicking against the marble floor drawing attention. but the effect was instant even before the click of his soles.

the goblins shifted reaching for their weapons, even if Alastor dismissed them. they’re simply not powerful enough to register on his radar as a threat, while higher then house elves or imps it wasn’t by far. the only real difference was their magical power or they would be no higher then an imp.

the goblins thought couldn’t help but to feel nervous. despite popular opinion Goblins did in fact attend to the need of other beings then wizards. and Alastor fit the bill, despite their inability to figure out what he is, and while that fact did very much disturb them he was most likely a paying costumer.

“name?” Riphock asked as Alastor reached the counter. very much unnerved looking at the being in front of him... a being who’s on a completely other power plane.

Riphock gaze flickered down to his paperwork as he ran species after species thru his mind that would match this being. he’s seen dozen of creatures of all types.

only to come up blank.

Alastor didn’t feel like the Vampire Lords of Romania. not an abomination like homunculus, yet he didn’t feel like a druid either.

no this being was clearly a spirit of some kind, but not a high fae even with that connection to the elements. Riphock simply couldn’t find an exact species.

as a Gringotts goblin Riphock had to be well versed with different species, it’s a reason they got hired in the first place. they had to know how to treat every species that walked through the doors, to prevent misunderstandings or unintentional insults.

you can insult a vampire by not addressing them correctly and an insulted vampire is often rather lethal at best of times.

Balancing the honor of being a gringotts goblin and ones life is the life of a gringotts goblin and earning the ire of powerful magical beings was one of the primary causes for death for them.

despite Alastor’s distinctly human like appearance, who was nothing but a beguile deception than anything else, he also had enough power to make Riphock and the warrior goblins stationed as guards sweat nervously.

Riphock didn’t know what he was and didn’t want to die due to not treating this being correctly.

half lidded eyes opened fully as the black like color lit with red for a moment, the staff resting at the crock of his elbow also lit up similar color before it faded.

hello” he greeted and Riphock almost started at the voice. that voice sounded as if you’re listening to it thru a radio of all things, yet none where in sight, he noticed there where also static humming in the air.

I’m Alastor nice to meet you, may your gold grow and weapons remain sharp little goblin” Alastor said and several stared.

“your business here?” Riphock asked deciding not to even question why he was being called little, there was nothing hostile or even remotely insulting in Alastor’s tone especially not with him using that greeting. no the little part was stated like ti was compared to Alastor he was small, literally.

Alastor took out a Gringotts letter from his coat, “I have a meeting with Sharpyaw and Ragnarok they should be expecting me” Alastor explained simply, handing it over and Riphock blanched as he read the letter.

Harry Potter was supposed to be human, not whatever Alastor is, and that name he used. ‘where have I heard it before?’ the goblin wondered.

it’s obvious that the teen went thru a inheritance probably chaos awakening from looks of things considering the evident age difference.

the chaos that will come down on the wizarding world will be immense if this ever came out.

my meeting” Alastor stated.

“of course, follow me I’ll take you to the office” Riphock said giving a short bow, as denying Alastor was not in his best interest. the faster they can have this finished the easier it will be for them.

and the less nerve wrecking it will be.

‘how do Ragnarok deal with him?!’ Riphock mentally screamed.

///

Alastor hummed a tune as they walked, reaching an office, rather grand one, marble flooring, but the walls where darker almost wood like, carved woods, and gold decorated beams stretching up, while weapons of various kind decorating the walls, was that a dragon skeleton?

glancing up to the dragon skeleton hanging from the roof.

“you can leave” Ragnarok said before summoning an house elf and gave them a note.

“my apologies it will take a little while for Sharpyaw to arrive, blood tea my old friend?” Ragnarok stated gesturing to a kettle next to them.

while thank you” Alastor responded accepting a cup as he sat down in a chair.

“it’s been a while since we meet in person last. you’ve gone and become an overlord from what I’ve heard” Ragnarok said with amusement and raised brow.

gained it by technicality, apparently being able to topple most overlords within a few days made me one by default” he chuckled.

“of course you’d go and do something like that” Ragnarok laughed, grinning widely.

“you had fun thought didn’t you” he said and Alastor’s eyes lit up and eyelids shadowed, sclera flashing back to darker red and iris back to it’s normal crimson as his eyes glowed faintly, as he dropped his human disguise, ears now perked and antlers visible

“oh yes” Alastor said with pleased expression. “hell have such sweat chaos. should have gotten a house there ages ago” he admitted.

“of course you would have” Ragnarok laughed, before the door opened again.

this goblin looked younger then Ragnarok’s hair just as dark thought but not as luxurious, a quirk of goblins they seem more regal and appear younger the older they get.

he stopped short for a moment, recognizing Alastor.

“hell of a surprise he says” Sharpyaw muttered,

“may your enemies blood and flesh always taste richly, Lord Ancestor Alastor” Sharpyaw greeted.

and may your gold ever increase” Alastor responded in kind with a Cheshire like grin.

“we will need a identity ritual for this” Sharpyaw stated tiredly, this was supposed to be a meeting to clear up Lord Potter’s inheritance and whatever creature trait that surfaced.

now instead he’s in a meeting with Europe’s most infamous Lord Ancestors. the head of the Most noble and Ancestral house of Mors.

Alastor, resident overlord and now official overlord considering he moved down to hell a century ago or so.

Ragnarok nodded to that, “we know who you are now, but we’ll need to know who you used to be before said inheritance” Ragnarok stated, taking out a parchment on the desk.

summoning his own ritual dagger, after all tainting a goblin blade with his blood. you’ll never know what it may be used for.

his thought wasn’t of metal rather it’s carved out of black moonstone. having a curved blade, carved form, thought said handle was made of star iron and silver decorated the entire blade. it’s dark coloring shimmered in blues and whites mixed with golds appearing as if the night sky.

removing his glove before pricking the tip of his finger. allowing the blade to get three drops before removing it and the wound healed in a instant.

said droplets fell from the dagger unto the parchment, as it shone before text started writing itself.

Alastor raised a brow as he read the content.

Awakened Name: Alastor Mors

Most Noble and Most Ancient House of Gryffindor

supported;

Most Noble and Most Ancient House  of Noir. status; known as Black. note; there still exist living members

Alastor paused looking at the result with an intrigued gaze before he gave a laugh and reread the inheritance portion.

the ones by blood where understandable, he was the born heir... but the Noir or Black came as a surprise because it still has living members. that means it went to him probably because he had been marked as the heir to start with thus even with living members it would still return or in this case given to him, even if it still had living members.

Mors he understood, it was even marked as an Ancestral, something he knew beforehand.

Ancestral houses differed from a noble or ancient one due to how they where made. while a house can grow from fresh made to ancient with time, ancestral houses started out so from the get go.

this is due to an Ancestral family magic didn’t need an ancestor or age of line to form said family magic. no the family-age portion in it’s creation is outright replaced or overpowered by the lords bond to a Primordial Force. allowing a new family magic to form on Ancient level, as it have the strength of arcane and primordial to back it up.

this makes an Ancestral family magic stronger, even then it would still grow more refined and honed with training over time.

it didn’t make the situation any less confusing.

considering Moreau and Slytherin was also there.

both goblins noticed that reaction

“we know you don’t share blood but it’s still your house. you created them” Ragnarok explained.

I just gave them the power and titles they did the rest” Alastor stated.

“and in magics eyes that makes you the founder, after all it was you to give them the title” Sharpyaw stated

I see” Alastor mused,

he created them and as both ended it went back to him because he was still around.

the others where due to he had right to them in the first place, either by blood or marked as heir.

his name remained Mors thought, which was most definitely caused by it being an ancestral and not ancient. or his name would changed and become Moreau due to it being an Utmost those higher then the other he inherited.

claiming either now would be merely formality as it’s been absorbed into Mors, that wouldn’t stop him from using either house title if he so choose to do so.

///

in the Ministry of Magic rumors started to spread about a dark mark like symbol one in black and red that an enchanted quill had written down.

Lucius Malfoy wasn’t stupid he recognized the described symbol the moment he heard it’s description. why wouldn’t he, it’s the ancestral house who supported his Wife’s birth house after all.

if that house where back then things where going to change, and he rather want to come on top or as close he could get, if not then hopefully he can come out neutral.
