With a trace of envy, Zelda eyed Link who was sprawling in the lush grass of his hometown. Arms under his head, eyes closed, he chewed on a straw.
No such luck for her, transcendent as she was.
"You know, Link? As much as I hate being a spirit, at least I'm with you. Imagine if I had to stay at home, anxiously waiting for news!"
He hummed lazily.
"And sometimes, it's fun, right?"
Another hum.
She settled down next to him in the grass, as best as she could.
"I'm so happy that you can see me, Link. I don't know what I would’ve done without you. I knew you were special the moment you knelt before me." She sighed. "I admire your way to just deal with everything. You're so clever, no matter what riddle we need to solve. So smart… Link?"
He blinked drowsily before his gaze narrowed at something behind her. He leaped up, broke into a sprint, and rolled against a tree. Bees chased him over the island, and when he finally came back, covered in stings and dripping wet, he dropped beside her. "What did you say earlier? Might have dozed off."
"Ah, nevermind."
