Chapter Text
Hitoshi is mid-sidestep for the cluster of students advancing down the walkway when he sees a leg jut out to trip one of said students, accomplishing this fact successfully, as the blond tips forward with a yelp, cutting off whatever he’d been talking about before abruptly.
He’s not going to be able to get his feet under himself in time to save his plate of food, and Hitoshi is already moving before he registers the urge to.
One hand focused on the tray and the other shooting out and maneuvering to take the blonds weight placed in the center of his back, Hitoshi sinks to one knee in the process of slowing his descent, majority focus shifting back to the tray once it's clear the blond in his grip isn't going to land hard, but his efforts to save the glass of water balanced on it are in vain, and it clatters to the floor with a splash.
“Dammit.” Hitoshi exhales, accepting the loss and rising to standing once more, taking the surprisingly light blond guy up with him, and soon they're both on their feet. “Here.” He shifts the tray back into range of the blonds grasp, shifting his attention once more, now to the instigator of this accident.
Too often has Hitoshi seen power dynamic’s taken advantage of, kids with more powerful quirks using that status to lord over others, do what they please knowing there won't be any consequences.
The electric blond who's shoe corresponds with the one in Hitoshi's memory is just as shocked as the rest of the group, and pales a little in the face of Hitoshi’s resting bitch face. “What are you, six? Who trips people?” He spits, but the redhead next to him is unaffected and jumps in.
“Don't worry man, he deserved it.”
“Regardless, it's immature as fuck.” Hitoshi points out, taking a bit of a shot in the dark and banking on mostly a guess. “I can't believe someone like you is the future of heroics.” Simple, succinct, effective, all of them take offense, the pink one moving forward and snapping,
“Hey, who are you to judge us?”
“Doesn't matter who I am, you're the one who's supposed to set an example and be positive role models, and you're doing a shit job of it right now.” Hitoshi dismisses coldly, moving off without another word and ignoring the stares he's getting from both sides.
And sure, its definitely a little early to be pissing off the top dogs, but this is a big school and they don't even know his name.
Yet.
