Chapter Text

"No! No please don't!" Izuku pleaded with her captor.

"Don't be so fussy little one. You won't be here long hime," a fair skin man gently assured the crying middle schooler. It didn't do much considering the tight grip he had on her wrist.

"I-We don't have a lot of money. B-But y-y-you ca-can have m-my wa-wallet," she continued to cry. The man knelt down to be at eye level with the distraught girl.

"Hime, don't you know who I am?"

Izuku swallowed thickly. Tear filled eyes briefly locked with his before snapping shut.

"Y-Yo-You're Edgeshot," she whimpered. The man smiled despite Izuku's shut eyes.

"That's right. But I go by another name too. I bet if you think about it, you could get it."

Izuku shook her head violently affirming the negative. Her head was stopped by a firm but gentle gloved hand on her cheek.

"Hime, look at me."

"No! I-If y-you're g-going t-t-to kill me-"

"Kill you? Oh hime. I would never kill you."

Izuku continued to cry. Kacchan was right. She was weak and useless. Being caught and toyed with by one of the most famous and dangerous villains without a single way to defend herself. The killer, Edgeshot wasn't someone anyone could take down, but at least others could fight back.

"I'm sorry that I've scared you hime. But I can't keep doing my assignments and protect you from the shadows anymore."

"P-Pr-Protect me?" Izuku hiccupped through her tears. What was this mad man talking about? Her eyes slowly opened, her curiosity at his words encouraging her to look at her kidnapper face to face. Grey eyes bore into hers, crinkling a bit to indicate a smile on his part.

"There's my hime's pretty green eyes. A little tarnished by your tears, but nothing a good night's rest can't cure. Do you still sleep with your paper cranes watching over you?"

"H-How di-did you-?"

"Breath hime. You know in your heart how I know."

"No. No. I-I made them."

"I know you did. You made so many, hoping for a quirk. A thousand cranes for a wish. I recall you wanting a quirk so badly."

"I-I was alone. M-Mom sa-said so! The house was locked!"

"My dear hime, a door cannot stop, a single sheet of paper," he said as he held his hand up in front of her. She watched in horror and fascination as his hand flattened to be the thickness of paper.

"Y-Yo-You... Sh-Shinya?" Izuku gasped. Edgeshot's smile seemed to grow, as evident from his eyes.

"Yes Hime?"

Izuku felt all the blood rush from her face. Her imaginary friend was real, and he was a killer.

"Why?" she croaked out, fear saturating her question.

"Why not? My master told me of his precious little lotus blossom. How you were so lonely and needed protection from this world. I didn't understand it either," Edgeshot began to explain, "Heroes were supposed to be good. The world was supposed to be good... But the shadows told the truth. People are cruel when they think the world isn't watching. But you, you were so gentle, even when no one was watching. I couldn't let you just shrivel up and harden."

"But you're a killer," Izuku spoke quickly, fear and accusation in her voice.

"Just removing the weeds from the garden hime. They don't belong in the palace, and they certainly don't belong near you."

"Palace?"

"Oh yes. But there are so many weeds now, Master has asked you to be brought somewhere safer-"

"Halt!"

"Do cover your eyes hime. You won't want to see this," Edgeshot sighed. His visible eye went to look at the man who yelled at him. A hero from what Izuku could tell. Her heart skipped a beat. They could stop him! She could see her mother-!

Faster than she could blink, Edgeshot struck. His fingers folding precisely into something long and sharp. Izuku gasped seeing the hero collapse to the ground, moaning in pain as their costume began to darken with blood.

"He should die relatively quickly. I made sure to hit his lungs and kidneys. Come now hime. It's time to take you to master-"

"No!" Izuku thrashed. Edgeshot tightened his grip as a warning.

"Now hime, you know I won't hurt you, but if I must, I will make sure you can't hurt yourself," he spoke, a threat laced in his words. His hand that he used to strike down the hero made its way to the back of her neck. Izuku instinctively froze, feeling the hand that had no doubt killed so many on her neck.

"There there hime. There's no reason to be afraid. Master will take good care of you. You won't need to worry about anything else anymore," he spoke as though he hadn't just gravely injured someone. With great precision, he rendered Izuku unconscious, falling limp in his arms.

"Y-You won't get away with this," the hero gasped out, choking on his own blood.

"Oh, do be quiet will you? Hime is sleeping," he said as he cradled her in his arms. He used his quirk to tap his receiver in his ear. The moment the receiver was pressed, a dark purple portal appeared.

"I would say it was a pleasure killing you," Edgeshot continued to the fallen hero, "But you were no challenge Ingenium."
