Notes:

This is my first fanfic and I took inspiration from a few other stories so if anything sounds a little familiar that's why. Please let me know what ya'll think and please give suggestions! Always willing to hear that and would love the help when creating new chapters. If this works out I'll try to post once a week or month.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Chapter 1
~Elizabeth's POV~
I was driving down the busy highway, today I got a call from a man that lived in the city stating that a mother raccon and her babies made their way into his house. So I had to go and safely remove them without harming them. I am an animal rescuer, I pick up animals, make sure they are ok, then relocate them to the proper area. It took a few hours to reach the house but as soon as I pulled into a suburb, I saw a man standing near his mailbox waving me down. The man spoke in a rugged voice, “Are you Elizabeth?”. “Yeah I am, are you Jason?” “Ya, here you can pull up here and I’ll show you to the raccoons”, he said pointing to a spot in his driveway. I pulled up where he said and then got out of my truck. I went to the back and grabbed a crate, some gloves, and a walking stick.
I then followed him into his house, his home was well decorated. Jason was a tall, well built man who appeared to be in his late 40’s to early 50’s. He led me into what I guessed to be a guest room, then he stood in front of the closet. “They are hiding between the boxes in the corner, I cut up some fruit and put it in there to make sure they don’t go hungry.”, he said, gesturing to the closet. “Ok thank you.” I said. I opened the closet after putting on the gloves, I looked between some boxes and saw the mother with her babies. “Ok mama, let’s get you and your babies out of here.” I opened the crate and slid the boxes around leaving an opening for her to go through into the crate. When I put the crate in place I took the walking stick and placed it on the opposite end and started tapping it around trying to get her to get up on her own without touching her. She hissed at the stick and stood up but wouldn’t start walking. The babies clung to her as she stood, others that weren’t right next to her started walking to her to climb on her back. When all the babies were situated I started tapping closer to her. This got her to walk closer to the crate. We continued this until her and all the babies were safely inside. I then used the stick to close the door, and I locked it. I picked it up and looked over to Jason. “Alright they are good to go.”, I said with a smile. He smiled back, “Thanks for the help, do you want some coffee before you leave?”. “Oh yes please”, I said.

I followed him into the living room, and he had me put the crate next to the couch. He said to make myself at home while he made the coffee. I looked around his home. He had many pictures of what appeared to be family and friends. Some pictures showed soldiers and I saw a much younger version of him. While looking around I saw a drawer on a side table that was slightly open. I know I shouldn't snoop around but curiosity got the better of me and I opened the drawer all the way. It was full of papers and envelopes. Taking a closer look they looked very professional, it talked about some kind of alien race. There were some pictures but they were blurry so I couldn’t see them well. It all felt so surreal to me, but before I could read it further I was hit in the back of the head. I fell to the ground and my vision blurred, I felt something warm run down my head and a pair of feet came into my vision. Before I passed out I heard a males voice that I recognized as Jason’s, “You shouldn’t have done that.” Then there was black.

I dreamt of my sister, my mind replayed the memories we had together. My sister was a part of child’s gymnastics and because she was “big sissy” I wanted to do what she did. So to keep me occupied and to train she taught me everything she knew. We did stretches, jumps, spins, everything. Our dad was one of those survivalist people so we lived in the middle of nowhere and he taught us how to survive on our own. Our favorite pastime was hide and seek. Our games however lasted for hours, we incorpt what we learned from dad and my sister’s teacher making the game five times harder. I won almost every game, sometimes my sister would get so worried that I was lost she would go get dad only to find me hiding on top of the house. We were vicious at that game. I smiled to myself, even though it was probably only mentally. I then woke up in a strange pod-like vessel. I sat up to see a strange world around me. It was similar to a forest but it was off, alien even. I notice a few other pods nearby. I may not be the only person here. I stepped out of the pod but became light headed quickly, I gave myself a second to adjust before feeling the back of my head, there was a scab and it was sore. Must have been from when I was attacked. I quickly looked around before walking into the jungle. Thinking back to the papers I read, then seeing all the weird looking plants I concluded that I was probably not on earth any more. Welp, if I’m going to be stuck here I might as well make the best of it. I walked until I found a river that could be used for food and water. I then walked some more, finding a small cave with a small clearing in front of it. Vegetation surrounded the entrance of the cave but it was still easy to spot. I looked in the cave to see it was big enough for me to move around some. Taking some of the vegetation I arranged the plants to cover the entrance of the cave. I took some of the leaves from the trees to create a pallet in the cave. I crawled back outside to look for a walking stick, when I found a decent one I sharpened the end to use as a weapon when needed. I then explored the surrounding area to see what all was there. I ended up finding a peach tree to my surprise. I picked some of the peaches and used my jacket as a makeshift backpack. I made my way back to camp when it started to rain. Quickly making my way back I went inside and ate a few peaches before placing them into a corner. I put my jacket back on and layed down on the pallet. It wasn’t long before I fell asleep, and made my way to the land of dreams.
