Summary
A lonely man mute from infancy, Tomioka Giyuu has been resigned to a life drifting aimlessly in a world that sees him as a burden or a nuisance, working the graveyard shift as a glorified janitor in a research facility connected to a port city's aquarium and carrying the weight of his grief with him.
When the facility attains a new specimen, Giyuu finds himself building a connection with the most unlikely person: a person said to be a god from the depths of the Pacific Ocean, and a very much not-human person. After breaking the Asset, named "Rengoku," out of the facility, that connection only grows and inevitably reaches a precipice.
AKA the one where Giyuu gets railed by a hot fish-man.
