Work Text:

Lovino never dreaded something while simultaneously being too excited to sit still as he does in the moment. The pros includ going on his and Antonio’s first date, and.... well, Antonio. The cons, however, have the Italian completely in the dark on what would be happening. The only other dates he’d ever been on were with Emma and Michelle, neither of which lasted long (and both were planned by him).

A knocking on the door has Lovino jumping out of his skin in anticipation, and wincing when Feliciano opens the door- two absurdly cheerful voices greeting one another. It’s when his brother calls for him that Lovino finally makes his way to the door.

“Holà, Lovi!” Antonio greets, with a short (but tight) hug.

The older Italian was able to return the embrace briefly before its end, “Hi, ‘Tonio.”

Feliciano laughs when the Spaniard offers his arm to Lovino, and thus receives a glare (courtesy of his brother). When the couple leaves, they can hear a mocking, “Have fun! Be back before midnight, you hear?!”

“So where are we going? If this is a kidnapping, I will kick your ass.” The scenery was rapidly changing to trees- no, forests.

Antonio laughs under his breath and shakes his head, “You know my grandparents own a property... so it’s nature time!” His voice slowly betrayed him to show some insecurity.

“Oh, really?” The younger raised an eyebrow. “What do you have planned?”

Lovino was met with a wink, “You’ll see.”

They pulled into a field surrounded by trees, and an RV situated out of the way. As Lovino scanned the area, his eyes were drawn to a lighter area against the dark of the earth... fucking fairy lights.

“Antonio, what the hell is that?” He questions.

The Spaniard laughs, and tugging the shorter along to the luminescence. It takes Lovino by surprise when he realizes some rendition of ‘Falling in Love’ is playing.

“Would you like to dance?” Antonio asks, with a grin playing at his (perfect) lips.

This causes the Italian to sputter, “D-dance?” He shook his head, “Oh no. I don’t dance.”

“Everyone dances, Lovi! C’mon, please?” The grad grabs Lovino’s waist, swaying softly, convincing the younger to follow suite.

     “This isn’t dancing, you buffoon.”

“Yes it is!” He argues, cheekily. The song ends, and Lovino leans his head against Antonio’s chest, shyly. Suddenly, the music starts again with ‘wise men say....’

The Spanish teen scrambles to fix the speaker, leaving Lovino struggling to breathe due to his laughter, “Did- did you just leave it on repeat until we got here?!”
