It was during a call with Sneeg, when Tubbo had his first real interaction with Ranboo. He had kept appearing on the media share and Tubbo was just curious on who he was and when he saw they were friends on discord, he thought what is the worst that could happen adding hm to this call and question him a bit.
So that’s what he did, which might have been a mistake because as soon as he heard Ranboo’s voice clearly for the first time he started to smile, and he could tell he was gonna be red by the end of the conversation. Tubbo immediately felt something towards this person, but he could not tell what it was. He was not sure if he fully paid attention to what was happening while Ranboo was in that call for only a couple of minues but after he removed him from the call, he felt he needed to immediately clarify that Ranboo was lovely and that he liked him. Later, in that stream Tubbo brought Ranboo back in the call and just talked to him, enjoying the conservation between the two of them, feeling some stress melt away.
Then a couple months on Ranbbo was added to the Dream SMP and that is where they really hit off their friendship or should he say relationship. It was in those months where they became close and became the duo as twitter calls them. Building the apiary gave then their duo name, bee duo, giving further excuses to be on stream together. This led to them talking before and after streams and after that, meet up talk started at first it was for a short time but as they grew closer and the lines between platonic and romantic feeling blurred the trip became longer and longer until it ended with the decision that they would basically live with each other for almost 8 months and possibly beyond that.
As the date of Ranboo’s arrival in the UK came closer, it was all they could talk about. The fact that they would be able to touch each other, interact with each other, be on the same schedule. They had fun messing with the fans, teasing the date, talking about it constantly but truthfully, they just could not stop thing about it. They knew that the nature of their relationship changing from online to in person would also change the entire nature of how they interacted. The possible feelings they had for each other would have to be confronted, it would be much harder to dance around the attraction in person.
When the date came, they could not believe they could touch each other. Hug each other. Be in the same room.
This immediately change everything and nothing at the same time. Everything felt like it was more, they were inching closer and closer to something more than friendship, but they were also stalling on the way there. Neither quite wanted the change to come in the way of what they had already but they also knew nothing bad would happen. They could both tell that the other felt the same, but the worry stayed.
The trip to Brighton led to being the catalyst of the change. It was a walk along the beach, sky turning orange, highlighting their faces in a warm radiant light. They had started to walk down on to the beach down the slope and more hidden from people walking along the promenade. Tubbo stopped in front of Ranboo and turned around in front of him and placed his arms n Ranboo’s chest.
“I think we have to do about those feelings now, Bossman” Tubbo brought his head down to look at the pebbles beneath them. He could feel his heart speed up and the blood rushed to his cheeks, he did not know where this courage had come from, but he was glad he had it. “I don’t want to dance around this forever”
Ranboo didn’t answer Tubbo but he did move one of his hand from his side and softly pulled Tubbo’s head up so that they could look at each other properly. Ranboo then moved his hands to Tubbo’s waist and forced him on to his tipe toes and then moved his head closer to Tubbo’s. Suddenly his lips were on Tubbos, it was awkward and weird, but it answered every question and worry they had to his change. Most importantly it felt right, it felt like their relationship had finally settled into what it was meant to be. They were both home. They would be together for a long time in some form or another in any universe, they would always find home in one another.
