Chapter Text
The night was cold and the moon hung high in the dark sky as the two archons sat on the palace’s marble stairs. What would happen after the war? Who knows. All they could do is hope for each other’s safety.
“Promise me you’ll get home safely tonight,” Venti spoke quietly. Oh, how the dangerous realm below scared him. The short god was constantly concerned for the other’s state through these dark times, pondering late at night what they were up to in that wicked realm.
“I give you my dearest promises,” Morax smiled down at his ally. “Don’t stress about me, just take care of yourself, alright?” There was definitely that serious tone that the old archon would use often with the other in his words.
Venti nodded, letting a heavy sigh escape before he raised his voice once more, “You know you can just stay here, right..?” The words he spoke sounded more of a warning than a question, but neither of them noted it.
“And you know I can’t,” Morax furrowed his brow. “I have my own land to protect, and it gets weaker the longer I’m up here in this paradise. I’m sorry, but I really must be leaving.”
Before Venti could say anything about the matter, Morax stood up and formed the familiar exit.
Now he was alone… Again. It hurt, but Venti knew better than to sit there and just cry. He rose from the steps and went back inside the palace. If he was being honest, this realm never felt the same without the tall male there by his side. Oh, how empty and echoey it felt….
Venti rubbed his throbbing head and walked towards his room to sleep for the night. Hopefully he could rest well without worry.
