In the back of a nondescript black car, Anthea reminds him about tomorrow’s work over the phone. Flicking the privacy screen up, Mycroft lets himself shift in his seat, legs pressing together and a soft grunt coming out of his mouth. Being the most important person behind the curtain makes for some exceptionally uncomfortable experiences, for example, today he’s been flooded with crisis after crisis via pushy politicians and bad decision making by some appointed leaders without barely a wee break.
Stretched thin and full to the brim, Mycroft allows himself a couple moments to quell the sea by willpower alone. Somewhere in the back of his selfish mind, Mycroft wishes to go home and relieve himself before going to pick up his lovely date, but alas, he’d already told Gregory that he’d be on his way.
