Work Text:
Visenya, Ygritte and Ryk were sitting by the fire we just started while Mance was talking in the back with the Magnar of Thenns, Rowan, Dala and Val. Jarl had just pop down next to us.
“What do you think they are talking about?” He asked us.
“I don’t know Jarl, Val’s your wife.” Sen said and took her tong uit. “Shouldn’t you know? You are one of our leaders.”
“We're just taling about the southners and how stupid they are.” Ygritte said with a cheeky grin.
“Aye, if I were to lose my sister or daughter to another one of the freefolk I would go after them and kill those fuckers!” Ryk almost screamed out. “And of course I would recognize my dear Gretta!” Gretta was his older sister, and she may even be half a giantess so big she is.
“That is not hard to do, ya big oaf!” Sen said and hit him soft on his shoulder. “They did recognize me, in the end.”
“To slow, I keep on telling you them southners are stupid!” Ygritte said angrily. “They should have recognised you immediately! Your Uncle Crow did.”
O how I long to see uncle Benjen now, he would know what to do. He would talk sense into uncle Ned and his lords.
Out of nowhere Ghost jumped up and rushed into the woods.
“Shit, go see what is going on. We’ll protect your body.” Jarl said as Sen warged into ghost. Her body is saved against Ygritte. Far away she heard Jarl say that they should have brought more skinchangers.
While looking into Ghost eyes they wandered upon a boy with bright red hair and Tully blue eyes. Robb? What was he doing here all by himself alone? They walk around Robb for a while and then let him too the tents. The wind was blowing directly towards us, no other men folk. So Robb was walking here alone? How stupid can he be!
Sen snapped out of Ghost and walked toward the trees, where Robb and Ghost were.
“Enemies?” Mance asked and looked concerned. They had moved towards the fire and Thenn had picked up his axe.
“My brother is walking by himself, the wind is in our favor, there are no others.” Sen said. “I think he wants to talk.”
“Then take him here and sit on the other side of the fire where it’s warm.” Dala said with her kind smile.
“Alright, I’ll just get him then.” Sen smiled and got up. This was going to be a tough talk.
As predicted, Robb was following Ghost here. “Hello stranger.” Visenya said with a huge smile.
“Lya!” He screamed. “Good gods Lya, we thought you were dead! And now you are a wildling princess?” He pulled her into a gigantic hug and she smiled.
“Freefolk, not wildling. And I am not a princess. Just a girl, talking in Mances stead because he forgot his lines.” She said as they returned to the fires. “I’ll tell you what happened after that fucker kidnaped me.”
“I do not think it is ok for me to be here.” Robb said and looked at the others.
“Oow, you hear that Ryk, Sen’s southern brother is scared of us.” Ygritte said and started laughing.
“Shut it Ygritte.” She said and threw a rock at her while she sat down, pulling Robb next to her. “So let's start with the beginning.”
So she started talking. About the raider from the ice river clans that had taken her. How that fucking brute had try to make her his wife and how Mance found her.
“Aye, I cave that fuckers head in like it was nothing. And the little wolf did not speak anymore. Sometimes happens, that one stops talking for awhile. It took her 3 years to find her tongue again. So we went and try to find a healer. And that is how we found my lovely wife Dalla and her sister Val.” Mance interrupted my tale.
“Aye you found me and killed that asshole. But he still did things, unspeakable things, that is why I could not speak for a while.” Sen said and gave Robb a weak smile. “But that is long in the past now. We traveled from clan to clan to make Mance king beyond the wall. I have met the most interesting people. We have giants in our army and we met up with the children of the forest. After 2 years of wandering we found this gigantic weirwood. And that is when we found him.”
“Children of the forest? I thought they were dead, like the giants.” Robb interrupted me. Those creepy little things, with their deerlike skin and large gold catlike eyes. She did not trust them one bit.
“They are dying, both of them but not dead yet. There are a couple of hundred giants left and I don’t know how many children there are still among us. In that cave there were 6 that made themselves known. And there we found my great great uncle Brynden.”
“That sisterfucker is nothing but trouble.” Jarl spit out. “I don’t care that he is the last greenseer. Fucking Crow.” And he started a slur of insults.
“Jarl, shut up I am telling my story!” She hissed at Jarl and Val kissed him sweetly in his lips. “You will know the man in the tree better as Bloodraven or Brynden Rivers. He told me who my mother was, and how she died. How my real father died. And how uncle Ned found me in Dorne. My mother is Lyanna Stark and my father was the last dragon. Uncle Ned found her while she was dying of birthing fever. She made him promise to keep me safe from Robert and the lannisters. And she told him that my name is Visenya. Visenya Snow.”
“The creep called you targaryen.” Val said. “Said her parents were married or something. But Sen still does not want to hear about that. We freefolk don’t really care about that.” Saids the woman that stole Jarl.
“He already had a wife.” Visenya argued. “I don’t care about Targearyan exceptionalisme. You can’t be someone's wife, not in our religion. So I am a Snow. I was a Snow back at Winterfell and I will die a Snow, not a Targaryen.” Visenya said stubbornly. “But back then I still did not speak, so they started calling me Sen instead of little wolf or Visenya. I already had Ghost with me by that time.” She gave Robb a sad smile.
“Wait, so you're not my sister?” Robb asked when she was done.
“I am sorry, but I’m your Cousin.” She said, “But I still see you as my brother.” And she pulled him in a hug.
“You could tell him about Frostie.” Ygritte said with a grin.
“Or you could introduce us.” Ryk said. That might be a better idea than to bring up a dragon right away.
“Right, You know Mance and Dalla. That blond beathy is Val with Jarl next to her. They are also married. Those are Ygritte and Longspear Ryk, my friends. That is Rowan, the lost daughter of Mors Umber and clan leader. And of course the magnar of Thenns. I have other friends who are still at the wall like Munda and Toregg. And their father Tormund, he is a figure! You will love him.”
Robb nodded to them all with a smile. “Thank you for taking care of my sister all these years.” he said to Mance. Robb gave Mance a hand, and Mance took it.
“Our little wolf, may she be named Lyarra or Visenya, is like a daughter to me. She is one of the reasons that I am king beyond the wall and she is the main reason that we are here right now.” Mance declared. “She can take care of her own very well, with that pretty sword of hers. And her friends, of which she has many. And I could not be more proud.” A blush had spread around her cheeks.
“Ooow, someone is getting flustered.” Ygritte teasted.
“Shut it!” Sen said back while getting more red.
“Frostie, Who is that? Another animal?” Robb asked. O right Frosty.
“Frostfyre is my dragon.” She said it is nothing. Like the last dragon had not died 200 years ago. “Bloodraven hatched it 3 years ago and I’m its rider. O and this is Dark sister.” She pointed to her hip.
“Dragon?” Robb looked faint. “You have a dragon? That is, fuck realy? And Dark sister? Fucking seven hells Lya! That is awesome!”
“Yea, that beast of hers likes getting into trouble.” Jarl said. “Always coming at the most inappropriate time.”
“That was not Frosties fault, but yours! Leaving the carcass of an elk right there!” She defended her Dragon. “But it did help convince the watch. She is still at the wall. Did not want to scare every lord of the North.” She gave Robb a cheeky smile.
“It is getting really late and your fathers men must be looking for you, boy.” Mance stated. “You should go back to your camp. Jarl can walk you back with Rowan and Ghost.”
Robb nodded. “I just needed to see my sister.” He said. He gave her a sad smile.
Sen stood up and pulled him to his feet. “You will always be my brother, no matter what my blood says.” she said as she hugged him and he hugged her back like there was no tomorrow.
