Work Text:

“I-I had fun tonight,” Marinette stuttered, a pink blush rousing on her cheeks. “Thank you for taking me out, Ch-Chaton.”

Saying thank you, would be an understatement.

Ever since their accidental reveal, with Marinette’s muffled screams in her bedroom and Tikki trying to calm her down with an amused smile, it was safe to say Marinette had fallen for Adrien Sunshine Agreste even more than she could imagine.

Adrien Agreste, aka Cat Noir.

Paris’ total dork and flirt.

“I-I, You’re welcome Mar-Marinette. Anytim— I mean uhh, I had a great time too!” Adrien was in no better shape than her, with his green eyes downcast and his voice pitch high.

Marinette softly smiled just the slightest. When it was Ladybug and Cat Noir, he would be a pun-filled cat, full of flirts and quips to make her laugh and roll her eyes playfully.

But it wasn’t Cat Noir and Ladybug, superheroes who saved Paris on a daily basis.

It was just her and Adrien.

And well, if she had that kind of effect on Adrien as Marinette, it’d be safe to say she was filled with Ladybug confidence.

Her gaze slid down to his lips. He was still looking down, while peeking through his eyelashes up at her.

In essence, completely and adorably cute. Her heart roared through her ears as Marinette mustered up all the courage she had and stepped closer to Adrien, closing the distance between them as he looked up at her, wide-eyed. Before Marinette could second-guess herself, she closed her eyes and pressed her lips on his. And pulled away. It was a chaste kiss, but stars had exploded through her eyes.

Kwami’s, she’d do it again and again if he permitted her. It wasn’t like first time, when it was to save her partner from Dark Cupid’s influence. It was more real and romantic and wanted.

She didn’t know if he’d want to do it though. She sheid away from him, cheeks blazing pink, as she muttered a sorry and prepared to face total embarrassment and rejection.

It instead came as a kiss.

Marinette gasped as stars shot through her vision as Adrien pulled her closer. He tasted like the sun — radiant and ever-so dreamy. She melted against his lips and his hold, and wondered how did she get so lucky to get someone like him to like someone like her.

He pulled away, eyes dreamy with a smirk on his lips.

“I love you too.”
