“I love you.” The boy said. Flushed cheeks, eyes sparkling with hope, fingers fiddling, and heart racing.
The boy never imagined himself to be in this situation ever but here he was, heart poured over the man in front of him. He was never the man to take things seriously, or to even be as honest as to confess his feelings but again, here he was.
He heard a breath hitch, followed by a slow and gradually getting louder laugh. He watched as the man’s expression went from shock, eyebrows raised and mouth gapes small, into eyes squinting and brows knotting, confusion, and finally to still squinting eyes but with the corners of the mouth curled upwards, he’s not sure what this is. Mocking? Happiness?
“Ok, great joke, Dream. I would’ve appreciated it more if you said Happy Birthday first before trolling me.” The man in front of Dream said, followed by a: “Happy April Fools, by the way.”
