Work Text:
“That's Cassiopeia, right now it looks like a flattened W, but it can be a flat M in a different time of the year.” Her eyes glistened with passion as she started up at the twinkling stars.
“It’s a really easy constellation to find if you are up north,” She said, as an afterthought.
Phil nodded along with her words, taking in the beauty of her. She turned around to meet his gaze, a soft laugh breaking Phil from his trance. He shyly looked at the ground. Kristin smiled, taking his hand in hers, tightly gripping it.
“You know, the daughter of Cassiopeia, Andromeda was meant to be devoured by a sea monster, because her mother claimed that Andromeda was more beautiful than Poseidon’s daughters. She was rescued by this guy Perseus, he fought for her love and now it's said that while Cassiopeia hangs upside down in the sky for her vanity, Andromeda and Poseidon stay close to each other.” She said, in fascination, still gripping onto Phil’s hand.
“Hm, I can totally fight off monsters for your love,” Phill said confidently, then smiling as She laughed.
“I know you would.”
“I can get you anything that Pose guy or whatever can get, and much more.” He continued.
“Are you jealous of a god?” She asked, mischief written all over her face.
“No…”
She giggled, laying her head on him as they continued to quietly observe the stars.
A few minutes of comforting silence passed by, both of them enjoying each other’s presence. Phil noticed her peaceful face resting on his chest, even breaths signifying she had drifted to sleep. He smiled, mumbling something to himself, “I’ll fight 100 battles to be with you, my love.” He sighed, closing his eyes as well.
She heard him, tears welling up, not leaving her closed eyes.

Phil loved her, they were like perfectly sung notes in a song.
The Sun and The Moon.
A match made in heaven.
For a couple of years, they lived the happiest life. They were blessed with enough. Enough to eat, enough to wear, caring friends, happy family, and three small kids. Technoblade, Wilbur, and Tommy.
Quite opposite to each other but they were brothers. Them being in the same room meant chaos everywhere but both the parents loved them the same.
-
On a dark night, Wilbur woke up screaming his lungs out. Phil and Kristen rushed in to see Wil crying, Techno and Tommy sitting on his bed, the oldest trying to comfort him the best he could.
Kristen noticed the symptoms of a nightmare, she reached over, carefully to not startle the kid.
“Hey sunshine,” Kristin hugged Wil, humming a familiar tune, Phil brought water, their presence calmed the scared kid down.
“What happened Wil?” Phil asked, worry written all over his face.
“Something terrible happened to you guys, and I wasn’t able to help out...” Wilbur spoke, softly as if saying it louder would shatter his world.
The couple exchanged a look, then proceeded to make all the kids go to bed. They spent some time reading bedtime stories to help take Wilbur’s mind off the terrible dream. Watching them serenely fall into a comfortable silence and eventually drifting off made Phil realize how important his family was to him.
He hoped, prayed to the universe, that whatever happens, he never has to lose this.

A thing I realized soon after she was gone was that memories are painful, they hurt you more but those memories are proof that that person was real, and they were there with you. It’s a strange feeling. Like falling in love for the first time. You don’t realize it instantly, it happens over time.
And the person I loved was real, they were here with me and they were alive and well.
-
He still remembers the time, when the call from the hospital filled the quiet home.
Numb.
Phil had his kids stay next door, as he drove towards the building.
Numb.
The smell of chlorine from the titles flooded his head as the doctors explained what happened.
“...crash,”
“She was bleeding…”
“...too late…”
Muffled voices.
His entire world falling apart, too hard to breathe, his chest getting tighter and tighter.
Please,
He begged.
Send her back.
He cried in front of the stars, shouted at the universe.
What had she done? What has she done to deserve this?
Silence.
He screamed as the loud silence took over him. Filling him with the worst feeling.
Grief.
He wouldn’t even wish that upon his enemies.
-
The kids understood.
Even when Technoblade was filled with rage at the universe for taking her mother away, even when Wilbur spoke less and less, coping by being with himself all day long, even when the young Tommy cried at night, missing his mother’s warm embrace,
They understood it all. And helped their dad as well. Each other was all they had now.
-
Phil was thankful. Thankful for his kids, for being there with him.
He sees her in them, Wilbur with his artistic skills, Technoblade with his calm personality, Tommy and his fascination with everything.
He is thankful
She loved the stars, spent her days constantly consumed in stories, bits and pieces of what people thought might be. And now she was out there, in the vast universe. Another star added in the deep night sky.
