Summary
A promise was made between Adora and Catra when they were younger: to be the first to reach the South Pole together. But throughout the years, that promise tore them apart, and they were only left with bitter memories of a relationship turned sour.
Eight years after their break-up, the year is 1910, and the two of them command their own separate ships and crew. Unintentionally, they both begin to head for Antarctica at the same time in what soon becomes known in the global newspapers as the 'Race to the South Pole', a land that has yet to be claimed by any explorer.
The world sees them as rivals trying to secure their place in the history books. The two of them see a chance to try to bury the hatchet by creating new memories of beauty and adventure—only hoping that this time, they’ll last for good and not be lost to the ice.
