Don't mess with a god.

Summary:

Charlie is more aware than they give him credit for

Notes:

Hey I wanted to see a Charlie who knows whats up. Hes not bad, just less nice then he lets on.
Lemme know if I miss any tags/trigger warnings. I love to hear criticism/thoughts/questions, and any and all of those are encouraged! I want to get better at writing, so dont be shy to drop thoughts and, ideas about how to get better.
Its not super long, but I didn't plan on writing this until I did.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Charlie was a god. One of the four creators, he was matched in power only by his two remaining friends.

True gods, they were. The word has come to be used for other less than mortal powers, but Charlie didn’t mind. Words and their definitions get diluted all of the time, so it wasn’t too big a deal. There were even some of the new gods on this new server. But Charlie was never one to be found, and as a silent listener he stayed under the radio.

Slimecicle was a god of many things. As a creator the lines of specialty were a bit skewed. People would try and box them in as the “God of Nature” or “God of Crafting”, but truly there were no lines. When he and his friends had agreed what they had domain over, it wasn't a set rule, more like who would be overseeing what. They were all powerful, but even then it was a trying task to make sure everything was going right.

He was never known as mean spirited, but for all he was friendly, he wasn't very trusting.

After he grew bored of watching this new smp go to shit, he got involved. Gone with his human body, instead to insert himself as an oblivious slime that knew nothing.

It was fun, Charlie would admit. He enjoyed meeting people face to face, having discussions and making friends. In his new housing, Las Nevadas, he grew to know the other inhabitants. None of them were harmless, but some were better than others. Some were uninterested with anyone else, while others were there to build themselves off of others. Ruthless.

Charlie would pretend to be fooled by their machinations. All in good fun, he’d really scare them when he let go of his ruse. He probably wouldn't kill them, he wasn’t cruel. But he’d crumble their power, leaving only those he’d decided were truly good to decide their fate. Charlie knew what power could do to people, he’d seen what happened to Schlatt, the former friend turned asshole.

Maybe the server could find peace. Maybe the citizens could let the water pass under the bridge, instead of building dams to stop it.

But until then, he’d stay back ready to stop any who stepped too far. He’d let the power got out of control, letting people like Dream and Schlatt gain their influence.

Charlie hated humans for that. But he’d made a pact with his fellow gods that they’d keep their influence to a minimum. After Grizzly, they always wanted to keep a strong balance with each other, and it worked.

It was painful, but better than the alternative.

Notes:

I hope this was ok! I plan on a second chaoter, but I'll be honest, I'm kinda inconsistent.
