Carl thinks about that for a moment. Sure, he lives on the West Side now - he’s got an apartment, a job, and maybe even a boyfriend there. But a part of him still lives on the South Side, the part that yearns to run wild in the streets, the part that fuels him to struggle against the rich… The part that drew him to Rocco.
He gazes at the lone star shimmering in the night. There’s another face, but this time, it’s Nick grimacing at him. “Maybe,” he says at last. “I finally know what I want.”
