Chapter Text
“Have you got all your things, Darling?” Loki called out as they paced around the living room. It wasn’t their first time out in public since being back to this timeline, but he still knew several Midgardians had some rather unpleasant feelings towards him. He could handle what the few brave individuals have said to him, handle the dirty glances their way- but it was their first time out with Mobius. Their first extended vacation away from their little house on the coast and of course Mobius chose another beach-side getaway in a very populated city. Loki wanted Mobius to enjoy this vacation, experience the joys of life that the TVA had taken from him. What Loki didn’t want were hurt feelings ruining their time together.
“Yeah yeah, just looking for my passport!” Mobius called back and Loki could hear him ruffling through the desk drawers.
Loki chuckled and shook her head, walking over to their spare room and leaning against the doorway. “It’s in your carry-on bag. You packed it last night so that you wouldn’t-”
“-forget it in the morning. I remember now, what would I do without you?” Mobius sighed, looking over at her and pursed his lips. “You’re wearing that on the plane?”
“Is there something wrong with wearing a suit on a plane??”
“You’re going to look funny on a ten hour flight.”
Loki couldn’t help but laugh with Mobius, walking over to him and taking his hand. “Darling, I admire your concern but I promise you I’ll be fine. Besides, I can easily change if I need to-“
“No, no magic on the fli-“
“-because we’re flying first class.” Loki finished, kissing Mobius’s hand, grinning at the look the older man gave him. “I swear I did not create them, no laws were broken, I called in a favor. Ready to go? I think our ride is almost here.”
“A favor? Who did you call?” Mobius asked gently, picking up his bag with his free hand and slinging it around his shoulder.
“You’ll see. C’mon let’s go outside!” Loki smiled, not waiting for an answer as their phone vibrated and pulled the man out of the room. Loki hesitated once he reached the front door, turning around to place their hands on Mobius’s shoulders. “Uh before we go, this isn’t a proper introduction. I have something planned for when we get back, but I just want you to know that you are very important to me and you will get a chance to meet them all properly.”
“Meet who?” Mobius had asked but before Loki could answer she could hear Thor’s booming laughter outside and Valkyrie shushing him. Loki simply smiled and led them outside to greet Thor and Valkyrie, as they made their way out of their jet.
“Brother!! This must be the man who you never shut up about!” Thor shouted, spreading his arms out to pull Loki into a hug. “I can see why you like him,” Thor whispered, beaming down at Mobius as he let go of his brother. “Pleasure to finally meet you, Mobius.”
“Hello I’m Val. We’ve heard a lot about you, good things not to worry.” Val smiled, extending a hand to Mobius and complimenting his attire as Thor too extended a hand.
Loki brushed off his suit, blush creeping to their cheeks as they watched Mobius comfortably interact with the two other Asgardians. They made a mental note to kiss him once they were alone for taking this so well. Now that Val had mentioned it, he did look rather cute in his sweatshirt and his jeans did hug the curve of his-
“Loki, the jet’s got enough fuel to get you to London and then back to us in New Asgard. If you follow us inside we’ll walk you through all the steps.” Valkyrie’s voice drew him out of his thoughts, eyes snapping back to greet hers as a smirk arose on her lips. They all made their way into the jet’s cockpit save for Thor and Mobius. “As I was saying, it’s rather simple. The jet’s already set to autopilot once it reaches altitude. Shift these gears before you leave in London and you are all set. There are a few cots and benches if either of you need to sleep during the flight. You should reach London in seven to eight hours. Any questions?”
“No, I’ve got it memorized. Thank you both dearly.” Loki smiled, looking over to Thor and holding out a hand, “I do owe you dinner for this if I’m correct?”
“Dinner with you and Mobius! I want to know how he bewitched you into settling down!!” Thor teased, pulling Loki in for another hug. “Enjoy your trip! Mobius, please do make sure Loki doesn’t drown in the Mediterranean will you?”
Loki rolled her eyes as the three of them laughed, pouting as she conjured their remodeled TemPad, “Alright alright, get off my flight.” She entered the coordinates for New Asgard and the doorway appeared. “Don’t make me regret speaking to you Thor!”
“You’re just upset I’m getting along with your boyfriend.” Thor laughed, ruffling Loki’s hair and waving goodbye to the couple before he and Valkyrie stepped through the door.
Loki turned back around to hide their cherry-pink cheeks, snapping their fingers to conjure their bags, and sat down in the piloting seat. Loki let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding when she felt Mobius’s arms wrap around her. “Hi.”
“Hi. You said we were flying first class.”
“What’s more first class than a jet?”
“Touché… you never told me you didn’t know how to swim.” Mobius whispered into Loki’s ear, smiling as he kissed her cheek and sat down in the seat beside them. “Don’t worry, I won’t let you drown.”
“I will leave you here.” Loki smirked, trying to sound threatening but failing as they started laughing. Loki looked over at Mobius to find him already watching her, “Ready to go?”
Mobius watched from the bed as Loki dried their hair in the en-suite, eyes slowly cascading over his tall body. Their eyes met in the mirror and Loki raised a brow, “Like what you see?”
“Maybe.” Mobius smiled, relaxing as he rolled over onto his side, and propped his head up. “Why don’t you come closer so I can get a better look?”
Loki rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue, giving his hair one last ruffle with the towel. Mobius watched as Loki wrapped the towel tighter around his chest, turning off the bathroom light and making their way back into the hotel room. Loki turned off the main bedroom light as well, dropping the towel off in the hamper, and grabbing their change of clothes that Mobius had set aside for him. “What time is it, Love?”
“A little past eleven-thirty. Our flight tomorrow is at nine, I can head down and grab us breakfast in the morning if you’d like.” Mobius hummed, making space for Loki as they crawled up to him on the bed, sitting beside Mobius. Mobius turned his head and offered a smile, eyes roaming down Loki’s body, dressed in a green silk night dress. Mobius brushed a curled strand of hair behind Loki’s ear, kissing her forehead. “This look suits you, you look good.”
“Do you really think so?” Loki asked quietly. Mobius could tell Loki was avoiding eye contact, trying to look anywhere but at Mobius. This wasn’t the first time Loki had presented themselves like this, there were times Mobius would find them fiddling in the mirror with their features noticeably softer and curvier, dressed in blouses and gowns as they read by the window early in the morning when Mobius wakes up early to use the restroom. Mobius loved every aspect of the person beside him, happy in the fact that Loki felt safe to present their gender with him.
“I know you do,” Mobius replied, reaching over to take Loki’s hand in his own, “I love you, I want you to be happy, I want you to feel safe to be yourself with me. I love every aspect about you, including this.” Mobius cupped Loki’s face with his free hand, gently lifting Loki’s face to meet his eyes. “You look beautiful.” Mobius watched Loki search his face for something, what Mobius wasn’t sure, but all Loki found was love and acceptance in Mobius’ eyes.
Mobius was taken back when Loki wrapped their arms around Mobius, hiding their face in his neck as she let out a quiet sob. Mobius sat there not knowing what to do at first, shocked at the reaction. “Can I hold you?” He asked, arms already instinctively moving to wrap around Loki’s thinner frame. When he felt Loki nod into his shoulder, Mobius pulled them closer, rubbing Loki’s back as he shook. They laid like that for awhile, Loki crying into Mobius’s shoulder as Mobius held them, kissing her head, rubbing his back, always asking if it was okay for him to do anything. Mobius offered Loki the box of tissues on the nightstand once he felt them shift their weight to lean back.
“That was embarrassing, I’m sorry.”
“No, no. Don’t apologize. It’s okay to cry, are you okay? Was it something I said?”
“I’m okay, I’m just- I was worried you were going to freak out or not accept me… It hasn’t been easy for me, in the past I mean…” Loki mumbled, eyes focusing on the pillow beneath Mobius’s head. “Thank you, it means a lot to me that you- that you accept me.”
Mobius rolled over to face Loki, thumbing away a stray tear that was making its way down Loki’s cheek. “I love you Loki, everything about you. No if’s, and’s or but’s. Thank you for confiding in me.” Mobius leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Loki’s lips, “Ready for bed?”
“Will you hold me until I fall asleep?”
“Of course.” Mobius nodded, making space for Loki to cuddle into him, and wrapped his arms around Loki. It wasn't long for sleep to take them both, holding onto one another.
