Phil knows Techno can handle himself, can handle anything thrown his way and come out infinitely stronger and durable.
Doesn't stop his worry, though.
Because Techno leaves for hours and days and goes to fight battles and gather resources, and it's never anything major but Phil always sits and waits. Makes himself comfortable on their porch and keeps his eyes on the horizon, hoping. Now, he will think, now he will come back, now I will hold him again, now I will feel safe with him again.
Sometimes he sits for days. For weeks, for months. But then he sees the approaching silhouette of his old friend and it's all worth it, then - the anticipation, the worry, the yearning for days on end, because then Techno's back and they rest their foreheads together and Phil clutches Techno's earring, reminds himself, he's here. He's safe. He's come back to me, alive.
It makes it all worth it in the end.
