Chapter Text
Airi laid in her bed, covers drawn up to her chin. Shizuku bustled around her, doing all kinds of ridiculous things like cleaning Airi’s room and bringing her tea. ‘I can’t let you be alone when you have a migraine! I’ll come and take care of you,’ she’d said, inviting herself over before Airi could even agree. She couldn’t say she didn’t enjoy it, though. Not just being waited on hand and foot, but Shizuku’s company itself.
Shizuku made her steps deliberate and soft, making as little noise as she could. She seemed even more graceful than usual as she tiptoed around, Airi thought. She wondered what she’d done to deserve someone as caring and beautiful as her.
“Hey, Shizuku?” Airi said quietly, her head throbbing a little more as she spoke.
Shizuku looked up from where she was knelt on the carpet, stacking some books by the wall. “What is it, Airi? Does it hurt? Do you need another drink? I can get you one right n-”
“No! No… I just wanted to say thank you for being here. It means a lot to me,” Airi interrupted, smiling at Shizuku’s desperation to help her. Shizuku smiled back, that warm kind of smile that made Airi’s heart melt every time.
“Of course, Airi.”
