"Here, hyung." Jay offered a large slice of watermelon to Heeseung.
"Serving Heeseung hyung first and the largest slice... what is this favoritism? Jay, I am literally a fellow 02 liner. You should serve me first." Sunghoon whined.
"You're not Heeseung hyung." Jay said simply.
"This is unfair." Ni-ki huffed.
"Life's not fair, Riki." Jay shrugged.
"Yeah, especially when you have someone as biased as Jay here!" Jake teased.
"Anyways, you guys can take whatever slice you want now." Jay ignored Jake, the slices now neatly piled up on a plate.
"Truly favoritism." Jungwon grumbled.
"Heeseung hyung's not annoying unlike you all." Jay smiled.
"You wound us." Sunoo sighed dramatically.
The group fell silent as they chewed on their watermelon, and receiving his watermelon first, Heeseung had soon finished.
Heeseung quickly wiped his hands off on a napkin, before he stood up to grab the knife, wanting for another piece of the watermelon.
Now here was the thing - Heeseung didn’t cook. Well better put, he didn’t cook outside of ramen. And handling a knife especially with something as big as a watermelon - as if! But he could figure it out, probably.
Heeseung grabbed the corner of the watermelon lightly and began trying to cut through the melon.
”Nnnnnnnhnhn!” Jay made a sound of objection next to him, not being able to say much for his mouth was full of watermelon.
Being himself, Heeseung ignored him.
“Nnnnnh!” Jay repeated, louder this time, violently shaking his head.
“It doesn’t matter how you slice it, you'll eat it all anyway.” Jungwon commented.
Jay quickly put his rind down and swallowed.
”But Heeseung hyung will get hurt if he slices it like that. It could easily leave a scar.” Jay replied.
”You have to hold it down. So that when you cut it, the watermelon doesn’t fall out of your grip and you won’t cut yourself accidentally. And don’t cut so close to the edge, or the melon could flip over.”
Jay gently grabbed Heeseung’s hand that held the knife, guiding his hand towards the inner part of the watermelon and cleanly slicing it.
”Thanks, Jongseong-ah.” Heeseung smiled.
Cough. Cough.
”We’re still here, you know.” Ni-ki cleared his throat. "Please get a room."
”We didn’t even do anything!” Heeseung deadpanned. "I literally thanked him."
“That’s the problem. You didn’t do anything and you guys are still being gay.” Sunghoon deadpanned.
"This feels oddly homophobic." Jay sighed.
"We are all literally gay here." Sunoo groaned. "You two are just the obnoxious types."
"Please go be gay somewhere else. You guys didn't spare my ramen but please spare my watermelon." Jake begged.
Jay huffed, grabbing Heeseung wrist loosely and pulling him away.
"Okay, but jokes aside, you didn't hurt yourself right?" Jay asked, closely examining every part of Heeseung's body.
"The knife didn't even touch me besides when I went to hold it, I'm fine. You saw me, I'm not hurt anywhere." Heeseung reassured Jay.
"Nonetheless, you could've miraculously hurt yourself without me noticing therefore I will not be satisfied until I check every part of your body." Jay said, peering at Heeseung's hands.
Heeseung laughed.
"Jongseong-ah, thanks for always looking out for me." Heeseung smiled.
"Don't mention it. I'm not gonna let my boyfriend get hurt, especially not when I can help it." Jay replied.
