Bicycle Built For Two

Summary:

Grandmother Tucker is visiting and this is the first time Tweek Tweak is going to meet her. He is very nervous, as the old woman doesn't know about his and her grandson's relationship.

But it's her birthday tomorrow. And if he wants to have a good impression, he needs to have a plan. Maybe learning the piano chords of a very old song that she loves can be an excellent plan.

Chapter Text

“You ride that to school?”

Tweek’s gaze lowers and his smile falters. He just wants to go home but Eric has to block his and Craig’s way to their bicycle. The brunette and his group of friends are looking over the bicycle Craig’s father bought for them for the bike parade.

“So?” Came Craig’s monotone reply. But he squeezes Tweek’s hand and the blonde squeezes back.

“Dude, that’s gay!” Eric laughs.

Tweek shifts closer to his boyfriend, purposely bumping their shoulders to calm the noirette down. But he is getting pissed off himself. He rather spends time cleaning Stripe’s cage than dealing with this specific group of friends.

“They are gay, fatass.”

Kyle sighs loudly before walking past the couple, patting Tweek on the shoulder as a silent apology on behalf of the brunette. Stan follows suit, catching up to the fiery redhead and immediately strings up a conversation.

“Fuck you, Kahl!” Eric yells but Kyle is too engrossed with the conversation he is having with Stan.

“You need to think of a better insult.” Craig says as Eric and Kenny pass them.

Tweek immediately side steps from behind Craig and stands in front of him, chin high as his fists clench. Eric scowls, wanting to berate the noirette or punch him but everyone knows that Tweek and Craig are not to be messed with when they are together. And sometimes even if they are separated.

Kenny just pushes Eric further down the sidewalk, giving the couple a farewell salute but he is ignored.

“W-Where are you both off to?”

Tweek and Craig turn their heads, seeing Jimmy leaning on the head of his Thomas The Tank Engine design vespa scooter. He has his usual grin, but Tweek has spent enough time with him that he could detect the mischievousness glint in his eyes.

“And they ask why we ride our twin bicycle when you fucking have that.” Craig sighs, but there’s no bite in his words.

“Hey!” Jimmy laughs, rubbing the head of his scooter. “D-Don’t listen to them, T-Thomas.”

Tweek giggles, shaking his head at the brunette.

“But f-f.. f-for… r-re-.. Seriously, where are you o-off to?” Jimmy stammers, but gets his question across.

That glint in his eyes never vanishes.

Tweek should be wary of him, but Craig trusts him and the blonde trusts his boyfriend’s judgement. Most of the time. And Jimmy has never done anything wrong to him, actually giving him valuable information and unbiased opinions about politics.

“Home.”

Craig ignores Tweek’s questioning stare. Jimmy hums, drumming his fingers on the scooter’s surface as he and the noirette have a stare down.

“Okay, I-I’ll leave you nerds a-alone.” He declares with his hands up in mock surrender.

Tweek admits that he is a bit jealous that Jimmy seems to understand his boyfriend better than him. But maybe he doesn’t and just respects Craig and himself.

“Craig, which, ah, home?” The blonde whispers to his boyfriend, twitching a little. He gets nervous when there’s a sudden change of plans.

“My house.”

Before the noirette could explain further, they are interrupted by a honk of a car.

The three of them see the Blacks’ Mercedes slowly stopping in front of them. The backseat window rolls down and they are greeted by  Token and Clyde, with the brunette pressing his cheek against his friend just so they both can look out the window.

“Hey, dudes!” Clyde greets. Tweek waves with a small squeak and Craig nods.

“Sleepover tomorrow?” Token asks.

Tweek looks over to his boyfriend who shakes his head, further surprising the blonde.

Saturdays are always sleepovers!

“Oh?” Jimmy and Token ask at the same time while Clyde and Tweek scream.

“What?!”

Craig sighs once more, tossing his bag into the basket they installed. He tilts his chullo forward, hiding his eyes from Tweek and their friends, while he kicks a pebble off the sidewalk.

“Grandma’s birthday is on Saturday...”

Tweek sees the other three facial expressions softening. He knows why.

Grandma Tucker has always been a special person to Craig. He is a grandmother’s boy after all. And their group knows that whenever she is visiting, the noirette just gives her all the attention.

“Tell her we said happy birthday then!” Clyde grins, waving and almost hitting To- Nevermind, he did hit Token.

“Send her our regards.” Token smiles, giving his best friend a nod as he rubs the spot Clyde accidentally hit.

“She’s h-home right now, isn't s-she?”

Tweek’s back straightens, trying not to vomit at the sudden spikes of panic forming in his stomach and quickly rising to his throat.

They all turn to Jimmy, who is not looking at any of them but is leaning on his hand, with the other playing with a small paper ball. He continuously rolls it around the surface of his scooter using his finger.

“She is.”

Tweek squeaks out a soft gasp of disbelief, eye twitching as he glares at his boyfriend. But the noirette is back to kicking pebbles and trying to avoid gazes.

“Tweek, you haven’t met Grandma Tucker, right?” Clyde asks, now fully invading Token’s privacy as he pokes his head out the window.

“I-I,” The blonde licks his lips, trying hard to form words. He tries again.

“I haven’t.”

“She’s really nice!” The chubby brunette shouts, eyes almost sparkling.

Tweek swears he could see an imaginary dog tail and ears on him, with the tail wagging in excitement.

“She is.” Token reaffirms, pulling Clyde to sit back on his seat. “We’re positive she’ll like you.”

“Oh, Jesus.”

Tweek feels a tug on his sleeve before he could even scrunch up the front of his button-down. Craig is holding on to his sleeve but is still avoiding his eyes.

“Y-You’ll be fine. If Craig l-likes you, she’ll l-li.. l-li... adore you too.”

Jimmy immediately announces his leave after that. He starts up his scooter, imitating the sound of a train as he slowly rides off, with his train carriage filled with newspapers following him.

Craig flips him off and the brunette returns the gesture, laughing his heart out as his phone starts to play the cartoon show’s opening.

“Un-fucking-believable.” Token shakes his head as Clyde’s grin widens.

“We were getting harassed for riding a twin bicycle but he gets away with that monstrosity.” Craig huffs, but once again, no real bite.

“I-If there is someone who is allowed to ride said monstrosity, it’s Jimmy and him alone.” Tweek says with a smile and the duo in the car agreed with him.

“We must be off too.”

Tweek sees Token looking over to Craig and the stoic noirette looking back. They seem to have a quick silent conversation and their dark skinned friend smiles at both of them and offers them a small wave.

“Bye, dudes! Be safe on the road!” Clyde shouts over Token’s shoulder before giving his attention to the person on the driver’s seat.

“Hey, William! Can we get McDonalds?”

“Clyde, he is my bu— You know what, fine.”

Tweek and Craig wave goodbye at their friends as the window rolls back up. They wait for the car to turn at the corner before the blonde crosses his arms, an eyebrow raising at his boyfriend who lifts the bicycle kickstand in its place.

Craig sits in front, feet planted on the ground as he waits for his boyfriend to ride behind him. But  Tweek doesn’t move.

“What.” He asks.

“Why are we going to your house? You never told me that we’ll be going today! And that your grandmother is visiting!”

Tweek presses his arms closer to his chest, anger bubbling inside. Craig should know by now to let him know about these kinds of plans ahead of time!

But his anger diminishes when the noirette’s gaze lowers. His grip on the handle tightens and it took him a few minutes to answer his boyfriend’s question.

“If I told you, you wouldn’t come, right?”

“Craig-”

“Sorry.” Craig says immediately, looking back at Tweek.

Tweek’s chest tightens. His eyes are duller than normal.

“I shouldn’t force you. You can always meet her some other time.” He says with a shrug but Tweek knows better.

He shrugs off his bag, placing it next to Craig’s before lifting one of the noirette’s hands off the handle. He holds it tightly, their fingers interlacing automatically.

“Yes, you shouldn’t force me. But,” Tweek smiles at him. “I’ll go and meet her today.”

There we go. That small fire in his eyes is back.

“Really?”

“Yeah. I know how much she means to you.”

“You mean a lot to me too.” Craig says but Tweek lets go of Craig’s hand, already missing its warmth. He laughs and raises a hand dismissively.

“I know, but I understand Grandma Tucker is a different kind of important.”

Tweek leans and kisses his boyfriend on the cheek. He grins when the noirette’s cheeks bloom a pretty shade of red and he hops on the seat behind him. Craig looks back at him, as if asking him if he is really serious, making the blonde roll his eyes and nudge his back with his head.

“Come on.”

“Daisy.”

“Huh?” Tweek blinks.

“Her name is Daisy. Grandma Daisy.”

Tweek smiles. His boyfriend really does love his grandmother dearly, and he finds that sweet and adorable. He is pretty sure no one in their friend group knows her real name. Except today, as Craig just told him.

“That’s a really pretty name.”

Craig nods, and off they go. They have paddled in silence, leaving Tweek with his thoughts. He is really nervous to meet Grandma Tu- Daisy, since she doesn’t know about her grandson’s sexuality and relationship.

Craig’s father- Thomas- is her son, and with the slight mess the young couple experienced with him, it might be worse when it comes to her.

He is also scared that he would fuck up his first meeting with the oldest Tucker.

“Babe?”

“Yes, Craig?”

“Does it bother you that we’re just riding a bicycle to go to and come back from school?”

“Why would you—" The coffee shop comes into view.

 “ CRAIG! ”

“WHAT?!”

Craig suddenly breaks, making Tweek bump his face into his boyfriend’s back. He groans, sitting back properly and finds the noirette looking back at him with slightly blown away eyes.

“Are you okay? What happened?” Craig asks immediately.

Tweek waves his hand dismissively then leans to him, getting close and personal to the point of their noses touching. His heart is beating fast.

“Should I get her something from the shop? Like sweets maybe? You said she also likes sweets like you—”

“Hon, you’re gonna be the death of me someday.”

“Don’t say that!!”

🌼🌼🌼

"Babe."

Tweek continues to shift uncomfortably, swaying the gift bag he is holding. Inside the gift bag are three  plastic containers, filled with soft cookies, sweet breads and  apple cinnamon hot pockets.

They are Grandma Daisy's favorite pastries.

"Babe, you don't have to…" Craig trails off.

He pulls Tweek closer to him by wrapping an arm around his shoulders. The blonde rests his head on his boyfriend's shoulder, wrapping an arm around the other's waist.

They are waiting in front of the Tuckers' house. Craig has alerted Tricia to answer the door once he texts her that they are there, not wanting to scare Tweek off.

"No, I want to, I am just—"

"G-Grandmama, I should get that!"

"Nonsense, Patricia! I'm already near, I'll open it!"

Tweek and Craig share a look before untangling themselves from one another and standing with a large enough space in between them.

"Grandmama!"

Tweek hears Tricia as the door opens.

Standing in the door is Grandma Daisy. Her hair is a silver grey and is pulled into a low ponytail, and her skin is a bit tanner than Craig's. She is wearing a simple purple dress, with the top a lighter shade with a floral pattern and the waist down is a simple darker shade skirt.

And those emerald eyes.

"Craiggy!"

Tweek blinks as the old woman wraps her arms around his boyfriend. Craig is laughing as he hugs back. She presses a kiss on his chullo-covered forehead.

"Hey, Grandmama."

"And who is this?"

Two pairs of dull eyes turn to Tweek, making him jump. He shrinks into himself, silently begging his boyfriend to introduce him.

He's glad that Craig understands Tweek language, verbal and non-verbal.

"Tweek Tweak. He's my friend and classmate." Craig alternately stares at him and at his grandmother.

"G-Good day, Ma'am."  He silently gave thanks to Buddha that he found the courage to speak.

"Oh! Are you the son of the lovely couple at the coffee shop?" She asks, oblivious to the panic arising from both of the boys.

"Y-Yes, I am." He swallows, eyes shifting at Craig whose face lost all color.

"They were absolute sweethearts. Told me how they met." She chuckles.

Tweek inwardly let out a sigh of relief. Maybe his parents didn't talk about him that much.

"They were about to tell me all about you but I had to go." She steps to the side. "But since you're here, you can tell me about yourself!"

Tweek smiles at her then looks over at his boyfriend who has never looked this relieved before. Craig tilts his head, gesturing for him to follow in.

"Come in, come in!"

Daisy leads them the way, with the boyfriends looking at each other with slight nervousness. She is talking about how Tweek's parents are so smile-y and talkative, perfect for a lonely old lady like her.

"Your mother is very pretty, by the way! Her and Laura, both.

And when I mentioned Laura, she seemed really happy!" She laughs.

She is way more expressive than any other Tucker.

They take a turn to the kitchen, and Tweek is reminded of the gift bag he is holding.

"Thomas! Laura!"

Tweek peaks in front of Daisy, seeing Craig's parents with Tricia. The young blonde is whispering something in her dad's ear. Laura is holding a plate of steak and mashed potatoes.

He and the older blonde stare at one another. And she seems to already know the situation.

"We have a guest." Daisy announces, leaning back to place a hand on Tweek's head.

"He is another friend of Craig's. His name is Tweek Tweak."

"Yes, mom." Thomas laughs and Tweek knows by the stare that Tricia sends his way that the old man has been told of the situation.

"We already know Tweek. He is part of Craig's little group of friends."

"You are!" Daisy exclaims, looking down at Tweek. "Why have I never met you before?"

"Tweek's a shy kid." Laura replies sweetly, offering a smile to her mother-in-law as she places the plate down.

"Oh, uhm,"

They all turn to Tweek who licks his lips before lifting the gift bag to Daisy. He smiles weakly, hearing his loud heartbeat in his ears.

"I t-thought I'd bring some sweets from the shop." He meekly says, avoiding eye contact.

Daisy silently takes the gift bag from his hands and peeks inside. An audible gasp escapes her and Tweek digs his fingernails into his palm to not faint.

"I have tried these hot pockets earlier!" She proclaims, before smiling at everyone.

"They were very delicious! You need to try them."

"Tweek bakes them himself." Craig pipes in, chin raised with pride in his voice.

Tweek could feel his cheeks heating up. He glances up and sees the old lady looking down at him with an expression that speaks confusion, amusement and concern.

"I-I make the filling and we bake them as a family." He explains, knowing she is concerned that his parents are making him work.

They are but she doesn't need to know that right now.

She smiles softly, wrinkles under her eyes folding and making her eyes look deep set. She ruffles Tweek's hair.

"Tweek's a good kid." Thomas says, taking his seat on the dining table.

"Yes, I believe that." Daisy laughs and Tweek folds his collar up, trying to hide his reddening cheeks.

"Your son knows how to choose friends. All of them have been angels."

Craig snorts.

"As long as you don't meet Stan and his equally shitty friends. Not like I am friends with them. Fucking assholes."

Tweek smiles at Craig and has to resist the urge to hold his hand and kiss his cheek. He hears Daisy clicking her tongue and turning to her grandson.

"Language!"

Ah, there's the infamous Tucker signature; the middle finger.

And of course, Craig flips her back.

They all take turns flipping one another before Daisy looks down at Tweek. They stare without blinking before the blonde slowly lifts his middle finger up.

He sees the family smiling, with the old woman breaking into a grin. His hair is ruffled again before he and Craig are being ushered by Daisy. They glance at each other, small smiles on their lips.

"Let us eat! Laura, I hope you made enough for little Tweek here!"

🌼🌼🌼

Tweek has been answering questions being asked by Daisy. She was excited when the young blonde answered that one of his hobbies is playing the piano.

He has to fight the blush creeping up to his face whenever he makes eye contact with Craig. The noirette is looking at him with dew eyes and a sweet smile that is flustering Tweek.

"My mom likes dancing with my dad when there are no customers around."

The family finished dinner a few minutes ago and have opted to listen to Daisy and Tweek's question and answer.

"We have a small jukebox in the corner. I-I actually never know how to operate it." Tweek says while scratching his cheek.

He sees Craig trying not to laugh.

Fucker.

"But whenever Mom and Dad dances, old music plays."

"That is adorable." Daisy cooes.

Tweek is still trying to get used to her expressiveness. She is resting her chin on her palm, looking at Tweek with gentle and curious eyes while her lips are tugging into a longing smile.

"Uhm… D-Do you miss him?"

Tweek blinks then looks over at Daisy.

"Your husband?"

He saw Craig's eyes widening and shoulders tensing within his peripheral vision. Even the old woman's expression conveys surprise.

Tweek quickly slaps his hands over his mouth. An awkward silence falls over them and the blonde wants to cry. He tries to form words but only staggered breaths escape his lips.

"I-I-I-"

Then Daisy laughs softly, reaching over to place a hand on his shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze.

"Yes, I do miss him." She smiles towards him.

Tweek glances at Craig, whose shoulders relax. The noirette quickly shot him a thumbs up.

"Actually,"

Daisy pats her hips before pulling her wallet out of the skirt's pocket. She beckons for Tweek to come closer, which the blonde obeys by scooting the chair he is sitting on.

"I keep a picture of him in my wallet. Here."

He just now notices how minimalistic the wallet is. It's the type that can only hold credit cards and little cash.

She is probably the main influence on Craig.

She takes out a few pictures, and he sees that Craig is the first one in the pile.

"Oh! Look, Craig, it's you!" She holds the picture up for everyone to see.

It was a bust up photo of Craig leaning on a bus stop. His phone could be seen at the edge of the pic, and he is looking down at it smiling, with snow falling on him.

Tweek's heart flutters.

He looks so adorable!!

"This was last year when you visited!" She says before laughing loudly.

A higher pitch version of Craig's laugh.

"You look so happy! I have wondered who you were texting, is that the right term?, with."

Tweek looks over at Craig, and even if his face is stoic as usual, his ears betray him. And he mouths something at him that makes the blonde smile and wish he had a copy of the picture.

Me. He was texting with me.

"And this one is when Laura and Thomas got married."

It indeed is. Thomas is wearing a black suit, holding Laura's hand as they walk down what seems to be the reception room. Laura had her hair up, and wore a simple yet elegant wedding dress. They are not looking at each other but at their guests with a smile.

"It feels like yesterday." Daisy sighs happily. "I remember being so shocked when Thomas said he has a girlfriend!"

"Mom." Thomas says, a little embarrassed.

"Sweetie, let's be honest, you were an asshole as a teenager."

Thomas chuckles and nods in agreement while Laura bites down a giggle.

Tweek has never heard of their teen days, and he'll be lying if he said he is not curious.

Daisy spends her time talking about how Thomas was known as the resident stoic asshole in their hometown. So for him to bring home a girl like Laura was a big deal.

And how they are different yet… oddly similar.

"At first, I thought Laura was a timid girl. But they fought so much!"

"We didn't fight that much, Mom."

"Oh no, you did." Daisy turns to Tweek. "But their fights weren't what teenagers fight about. They were already like an old married couple!"

"I could barely remember those fights." Laura giggles.

"The one that made me think 'Okay, she's the one' is when you guys fought over who is the cutest."

Tweek blinks.

"It's still obvious that you're the cutest." Thomas and Laura say at the same time.

Craig is oddly quiet and Tweek catches him staring at him. Daisy laughs wholeheartedly while Tricia pretends to barf.

"Can we please not do this?" The youngest in the room complains.

Daisy turns to Craig, who immediately stares back, making Tweek suspicious of what is on his mind.

"I know you're still young, but I hope I am still alive to witness you bring home a lover, Craiggy."

Tweek feels dizzy with all of these whiplashing emotions. But even in this state, he notices that Daisy didn't use the term girlfriend but used lover .

Maybe he will be accepted as Craig's lover?

But he doesn't want this topic to linger. So he leans over and picks up another picture. It's Tricia.

Tricia's and Craig's pictures are in a better condition than Thomas and Laura's, given that their picture was taken way before.

The Tricia in the picture is much younger, sitting on a patch of grass with bubbles around her. She looks so angry with a tiny pacifier in her mouth. And she is flipping the bubbles off.

"You look so cute, Trish!" Tweek grins as he lifts the picture up.

He realizes that he fucked up.

No one calls Tricia Trish unless you are family. Everyone calls her Patricia or Tricia. It's her rule.

But it seems Daisy didn't notice because she cooes over the picture, taking it from Tweek's hand.

"That is so me." Tricia says and every other Tucker laughs.

Maybe Tweek is the only one panicking over his slip-up.

He looks over at the pile of pictures. There is only one left. And it's of a man.

Grandpa Tucker.

It's obviously an old and vintage picture, since it's black and white. The man is riding a bicycle for two, wearing what young men wear in the 1940's. But the bouquet he is holding catches Tweek's attention.

Daisies.

"That's him."

Tweek looks up, seeing Daisy staring down at the picture with a smile. Her eyes are shining with longing and love. She strokes the polaroid picture gently.

"He is very much like you and Craig, Thomas." She sighs softly.

"S-Serious but caring?" Tweek asks.

"Very."

"Ah." Craig says suddenly, making everyone turn to him.

He is looking at his grandmother with a determined and excited look. Daisy just raises her eyebrow at him, urging him to say whatever is on his mind.

"Grandmama, remember when you said you'll pay me to arrange your stuff in the attic?"

Tweek couldn't help but shake his head. He remembers being so scared that  something happened to the noirette but when he came over, Craig was in the attic asleep, with a lot of boxes around him.

"Yes. Have you finished?" Daisy asks, tucking the pictures back in her wallet.

"I have but," Craig clears his throat, and Tweek could tell he is trying not to burst in excitement.

"I found a vinyl record!"

Chapter Text

...But you'd look sweet on the seat

Of a bicycle built for two.

Tweek sits by his windowstill and stares outside, seeing the Marsh’s and Broflovski’s residence. He can’t quite see his classmates’ rooms but he knows those two are on their computers and talking to one another. And it’s not like he wants to spy on them.

He just has a lot on his mind.

Specifically about what happened earlier and why he is now repeating a song from 1892 on his phone.

Daisy immediately asked the rest of her family to gather in the living room, with Craig being told to get the vinyl record. Tweek went up with his boyfriend in his room, carrying the vinyl player that Craig bought a few months back.

Tweek couldn’t help himself and gave his boyfriend a small kiss on the lips while they were inside his room. Craig smiled at him and they held hands for a few seconds before the noirette grabbed a box with various things inside.

The song on his phone starts to play again.

He remembers how happy Daisy was when he and Craig joined the rest of the Tuckers in the living room. She grabbed the box from her grandson and placed it on top of the coffee table, instantly pulling out the vinyl record out of its worn out sleeve.

“Have you listened to it, Craiggy?”  Daisy asked the noirette as Tweek put down the vinyl player next to the box.

“No, I want to hear it when you’re around.”

Tweek smiles, resting his head on the window as he remembers Daisy’s smile towards Craig.

Her smile is full of love and care.

He closes his eyes, replaying the events earlier in his head.

“This song is rather old. I wasn’t even alive at that time!”

He watched as grandmother Daisy inspected the vinyl in her hands. She let out a sigh of relief and gently placed it on top of the turntable’s platter. She ushered the young boys to sit on the sofa, and Tweek opted to sit between the Tucker siblings.

Carefully, she put the tone arm down, letting the stylus needle meet with the vinyl’s tracks.

Grandmother Daisy sat down on the single sofa chair, smiling at Tweek specifically. They were engulfed with silence for a few seconds until the song started to play.

It sounded scary in Tweek’s opinion, but he reminded himself that the song is older than the oldest Tucker in the room.

“Logan used to sing this to me.” She said, looking at the vinyl player with eyes shining with longing and nostalgia.

“Logan?” Tweek asked, and Craig turned to him with a small smile.

“My grandfather.”

“Oh!” Thomas exclaimed, snapping his fingers as if he suddenly remembered something.

“This is the song that Dad was singing when he got home from the market.”

Tweek saw how the usual scary expression on Thomas diminished and was replaced with the same emotions the blonde saw in Daisy’s eyes. The old man had a large grin etched on his lips.

“Was it the time they were dancing in the kitchen to no music with a bouquet of daisies in their hands?” Laura asked her husband and the redhead nodded.

Tweek wanted to say that they had done the dancing with no music thing but remembered he was the only one who saw them and it was by accident. He really needed to pee at 5 in the morning.

“T-That is so sweet.” He said softly, turning back to Daisy. “And I, uhm, understand why Mr. Logan would sing this song.”

“He is very romantic.” She gushed, closing her eyes.

Tweek was worried that she might cry, but he understood if she were to.

“He would wait for me, a bouquet of daisies in his hand with his bicycle parked.” She laughed before sighing happily. “He wrote me a letter everyday, even though we see each other daily.”

“Guess we know where doofus here got his old-fashioned antics.”

They all turned to Tricia. She just blinked and raised a brow.

Tweek bit his lower lip before glancing at Daisy but caught a glance of Craig’s expression.

He looked like he was ready to strangle his own sister out of anger.

“What?” Tricia asked, crossing her arms. “Your playlist consists of old love songs! I don’t even know most of them!”

Ah. Tricia caught on that she slipped up.

“Y-Yeah, Craig.” Tweek stammered but he smiled at his boyfriend.

“A-And you said that if you’re going to court a girl,”

He saw how Craig’s frown deepened.

“That you want to 'properly’ court her. G-Guitar and all.”

“You also got it from your father, Craiggy.” Daisy shook her head but her lips tugged into a smile.

“Pretty sure I was a stoic asshole when I was his age." Thomas laughed, shaking the couch a little.

"You were," Laura said as she leaned on her husband's shoulder. "To everyone else. But to me, you're a gentleman. A romantic sap."

Tweek thought it was adorable but the Tucker siblings beg to differ, gagging as their eyes rolled.

"Tweek,"

The blonde tore his eyes from Craig and back to the old lady. She is looking at Tweek with half-lidded eyes.

"Is Craig nice to you? I know our family can be mean at times."

Tweek saw Craig slightly pouting, tilting his chullo forward to hide his eyes.

"He is."

More than nice.

"P-People say that he is an asshole but he is not. In reality, he is a huge dork and he is really sweet to me."

WAIT WAIT BACK THE FUCK UP, TWEEK TWEAK

"A-A-And to our other friends, of course!"

Nailed it.

Daisy just hummed, but it seemed that she was satisfied with Tweek's answer. Craig is still silent and pouting, but the tip of his ears were a bit red.

Silence fell over them as the player sang the last lyrics, and Tweek was aware that it should be comfortable but he felt like he was being held at gunpoint.

He looked over to the Tucker parents. Thomas had his arm around Laura with the older blonde almost asleep in his arms.

Tricia was twirling a strand of her hair around her finger, shifting her focus  to her cellphone. Tweek never  meant to snoop but he noticed  Karen's name on the screen.

"Oh, how I missed hearing that song."

Daisy sighed happily then pulled the box filled with things closer to her.

"Whether she loves me or loves me not, sometimes it's hard to tell…"

Tweek sings along with the music playing from his phone, a warmth spreading in his chest as he continues to recall the events.

But the song changes into a familiar cartoon theme song.

Red Racer.

Craig!

Eyes widening, Tweek rushes over to his bed where his phone is. In his hurry, he accidentally steps on a LEGO piece he hasn't cleaned up.

"Gah!"

He wants to cry and curse but there is no one to blame but himself for not cleaning up his toys.

Whimpering, he sits on the bed, accepting Craig's call as he massages the sole of his foot.

"H-Hey, Craig."

"...You okay, babe?"

Tweek smiles, amazed that Craig knows something is wrong. He could hear battle music from the other end, noting that the noirette must be playing on his computer.

"Yeah. Just stepped on a LEGO . Fucking hurts, man."

"We really need to clean your room, dude."

"Did you call just to nag at me?" Tweek heckles, hearing the other snort.

"Nah. I, uh, actually…"

He trails off. Sometimes Tweek can pick up what he means and doesn't need the extra info, but not right now.

"You actually…?" Tweek urges before biting his lower lip in nervousness.

"Want to thank you. For today."

.. Oh, Craig.

"Why are you thanking me?"

"I was a doofus and forced you into something you weren't ready to do. But you still did it."

Tweek hugs a pillow close to him, pretending it is his boyfriend, and balances his phone on his shoulder.

"She is a sweetheart, Craig. I-I honestly don't know why I was so scared."

They both knew why but didn't bring it up.

"She said to invite you tomorrow."

Tweek smiles, trying not to bury his face on the soft pillow.

"I'll be there. I-I'll make sure to bring something."

Craig hums on the other end, and the blonde hears the computer turning off. The noirette seems to be moving about in his own room.

"I wish I could do something for her."

"Huh?"

Tweek hears bed rustling from his phone and he lays down, placing the pillow he is snuggling on the right side of the bed where Craig sleeps whenever he is over.

"For grandma. She feels lonely and she misses grandpa."

Tweek closes his eyes, humming to urge the noirette to talk more.

"She wants to dance again, but none of us knows how. Got it from grandpa."

"She misses that old romantic era, you know? The giving of flowers, dancing to nothing or in the rain, writing letters.."

"You sound so old when you say that."

"Fuck off, dude." Tweek giggles.

"But all I could give her is a daisy brooch since she fucking loves those stuff."

Tweek pulls the phone away from his ear and stares at the home screen. He sees the notification bar for his music on top.

An idea crashes into his mind.

"And I am contemplating on renting a karaoke set from one of the Asian-"

"Craig, shut the fuck up for a minute."

The noirette stops talking and Tweek takes a deep breath.

"Do you know someone we can borrow a piano from?"

"...Babe, you have a keyboard-"

"No!" Tweek pinches the bridge of his nose.

"E-Either a baby grand piano or an upright one!"

Craig doesn't question why he needs it.

"Token."

🌼🌼🌼

Tweek stirs in his sleep, growling underneath his breath as a ray of sunlight seeps through the blinds and hits his eyes.  He snuggles a pillow closer, wanting to bury his face and away from the sunlight.

But the faint vanilla cinnamon scent he smells from the pillow is not remotely close to what his soap and shampoo smell like. Nor Craig’s.

His eyes shoot open, his breathing already erratic and his surroundings didn’t help. It’s not his room.

Fancier than his own room because he knows he broke his lamp a week ago and hasn't replaced it, yet on the nightstand is an LED night lamp in the shape of a lion.

Wait. He knows that night lamp.

He hears movement at the edge of the bed, specifically on the floor. He knows whose room this is now but he needs to be sure. Kidnappers these days are getting smarter.

Wrapping the thick purple duvet around him, he carefully crawls toward the noise. He lets out a breath he didn’t know he is holding when he sees Token, leaning on a bean bag with his head on the bed board.

He is awake as well. He sits up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes as he turns to Tweek, a small smile on his lips.

“I’m surprised you’re already awake, dude.”

“W-Why am I on your bed?” Tweek winces, not meaning to doubt his friend.

“Ah.” Token yawns before continuing.

“You fell asleep on the piano. William carried you up and was about to tuck you in a spare room. I saw both of you when I was on my way to get a glass of water, and I told him you can sleep in my room.”

He yawns once more.

“Because I know you might freak out when you wake up somewhere that is not your room.”

Tweek nods, grateful that Token knows him well enough.

But he couldn’t help but feel guilty that because of him, the noirette slept on the floor and it must have been uncomfortable.

“T-Thanks, man. But you should have let me sleep on the floor.”

Token laughs and waves his hand dismissively before stretching his arms and back.

“It’s fine, I’m more worried about you. That was just an hour ago, that’s why I’m surprised you’re awake already.”

“I can survive with just an hour of sleep. I just need coffee.”

“Then let’s get some breakfast. You have a busy day ahead of you.”

Tweek smiles and nods, already making mental notes to repay Token back someday.

After grabbing their phones, they went downstairs. They talk about visiting the resting place of their deceased friend, Jason White.

There's a reason why Tweek is comfortable around Token more than he is with Clyde and Jimmy.

Because the noirette is familiar and friends with his best friend. They were both in all of the sport teams after all.

And the three of them have a special bond that Clyde and Jimmy missed.

A metrosexual special bond.

Craig would strangle Token and Tweek if they mention it again. That doesn’t stop the two from talking about it behind his back.

“He likes to pretend it didn’t happen.” Token rolls his eyes, ushering Tweek to come inside the kitchen.

“But he still kept the costume.”

“I kept mine and Jason’s too.” Tweek smiles, then stopping in his tracks when he sees William cleaning the dining table.

“Fair. I have mine as well. You have Jason’s stuff, right? Because his parents threw them out?”

Tweek nods and anger draws itself on Token’s facial expressions.

“I am not one to curse other people’s parents but fuck his parents.”

William looks up from cleaning and shock is evident from his face to see Tweek up already. The blonde knows he meant well but can’t fight the urge to step behind Token.

“Ah. Good morning, young master. Mr. Tweak. My apologies, I am just shocked that both of you are awake this early.”

They greet back, Token ushering Tweek to the dining table once more. He knows he technically can hold the blonde’s hand but doesn’t want to in respect of his best friend.

“Tweek is used to having an hour of sleep and today is a big day, that’s why we’re awake.”

William nods, but Tweek knows that the butler is worried for him. He appreciates the concern but he doesn’t really know what is wrong with himself and he is too scared to find out.

"I know, it's not healthy." Tweek smiles sheepishly.

William just smiles at him before asking Token what their breakfast shall be.

Tweek twiddles his thumbs as his friend lists off what the butler needs to prepare, making sure to get the blonde some coffee.

When the butler goes to the kitchen, Token takes out his cellphone and begins scrolling. It doesn't take him long before he slides the device over to Tweek.

"Here. That's what we are envisioning for the party."

Right. The party.

"Oh, that's actually pretty. Maybe we can put fairy lights up around?"

"Yeah, that could work. I'll order now so it can be delivered later."

"Ah, wait!" Tweek stares at Token with wide eyes. "W-Who's 'we'?"

Token smiles and takes his phone back and Tweek shifts in his seat. Not a minute later, the noirette is showing something on his screen again.

It's the guys' group chat and they were up all night talking about the decorations.

Tweek was busy learning something on the piano during the whole conversation.

".. O-Oh, I didn't know. I was-"

"We know." Token laughs softly. "Don't worry. We got it all covered. You just got to play."

"But the cupcakes!"

"Craig already called your mom about it."

Tweek sighs, leaning back on the chair as he closes his eyes. He really really appreciates his friends now.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to perfect that song for Grandma Daisy."

A few seconds of silence tick by before Token speaks.

"You're really the one, huh?"

The blonde opens his eyes, lolling his head to the side to stare at his friend. Token is smiling at him.

"What?"

"He told you her name."

Tweek blinks.

"We never knew her name. But Craig told you."

Tweek blinks again and Token chuckles.

"He trusts you. They trust you. And they love you."

Tweek's cheeks heat up and he turns his attention to the ceiling, thumbs twiddling around each other again.

"I just want them to be happy, man."

"And they will be. I know it's a bit late now but, would it be okay if we help you?"

He closes his eyes, smiling.

"O-Of course, dude. I really appreciate it."

🌼🌼🌼

"Craig said they are just waiting for Momma Laura's manicure to be done and they'll head back."

Tweek takes a deep breath as he nods at Clyde.

Everything is settled, thanks to the guys and William's help.

The group has decorated the Tuckers' backyard.

The theme? Daisies.

In the middle is a long table, covered with a simple white tablecloth and a daisy banner that spells Happy Birthday pinned in the front.

Yellow and white balloons are scattered and tied on the table and fences. The food is decorated with edible daisies as well. Everything is daisy patterned.

At the side is the Blacks' baby grand piano. It was a bit of a struggle getting it here but William found a way.

Everyone wants it to be perfect.

Especially Tweek.

He and his friends are wearing beige three piece tweed suits, beige newsboy caps, checkered suspenders and black bow ties.

William fits in automatically.

Craig will be wearing the same as well.

"You doing o-okay, Tweek Tucker?"

Tweek turns to his side and sees Jimmy, sitting on a plastic chair as he twirls a single daisy flower in his fingers.

"Gah! My last name is Tweak, Jimmy. You know this." He squints at the brunette who just laughs.

"D-Didn't answer my question."

Tweek sighs, realizing his blazer buttons are now messed up due to his hands tugging at the fabric. Jimmy beckons for him to come closer so he could fix it.

The blonde's hands are shaking so much for him to do it on his own.

"I'm really n-nervous, Jimmy."

"We could tell."

Token pockets his phone as he and Clyde walk towards their friends. The smaller brunette has his arms on his head, sucking on a lollipop he stole from the table.

"I just want this to be perfect for her, dude. But it's too much pressure!"

"Maybe," Clyde puts his arms down and pulls his lollipop out of his mouth to point it at the blonde.

"Maybe it's pressuring you more because it's not just her you're trying to impress."

Token nods, placing a comforting hand on Tweek's shoulder.

"You gotta calm down, Tweek. Craig would be proud of you no matter what."

"And us too. You got this, dude." Clyde grins at Tweek, bumping their shoulders gently.

"A-And if Craig isn't happy with our e-efforts, we'll pu.. pu.."

"We'll punch him."

All of the doubts he still has over his friends vanish. They are rooting for him.

"I l-love you, guys." Tweeks says emotionally.

He feels like crying.

"We love you too. No homo." Clyde nods, proud of himself.

Token just shakes his head but his smile shows what he really feels.

Then they hear voices inside the house.

They all look at each other and nod. Token and Clyde help Jimmy with his crutches, before heading to where William is standing. The butler hands them each a small bouquet of daisies as they stand in a line.

Tweek sits on the piano bench, biting his thumb nervously. Token forced him to practice when they arrived and they will do the decorating.

"Grandmama, you stay there, okay?"

They hear Craig. And the noirette's silhouette appears on the backdoors' reflection. It slides slightly open and his head pops in.

He glances around and Tweek's heart leaps in his throat as his nervousness worsens.

But his boyfriend smiles at him and gives him a thumbs up. And a nod to their friends.

Oh thank you, Buddha.

Craig goes back in but the glass doors slide open wider. Tricia steps out, wearing a teal winter dress and a beret. Her hair is curled and she is wearing a bit of makeup.

Tweek smiles at her.

She looks like a young lady already.

She nods at everyone and walks to the butler, who hands her the same bouquet. She stands next to Jimmy, and they already string up a conversation.

She is really similar to her brother. She only trusts the guys, and loathe Karen's brother and his friends.

"What on Earth are you both wearing?"

They turn to the house, hearing Grandma Daisy's hearty laughter. She must have seen Thomas and Laura, because Craig steps out without his parents.

But instead of a newsboy cap, he is wearing his chullo. Of course.

"Is everything set?" He asks Tweek after getting a flower crown made of daisies from William.

"M-Mhm."

"Babe."

Tweek is refusing to look at his boyfriend. His leg is shaking and his fingers are getting tangled together.

But Craig sits next to him on the bench. And press a soft kiss on his cheek.

"She will love it."

Tweek's heart flutters and he lays his palms out and Craig immediately places his free hand on top, their fingers intertwining. The noirette rubs the blonde's knuckles to calm his nerves.

Tweek loves feeling his boyfriend's warm hands on his. But there is a song to perform.

"Oh, look! The dress fits me! How lovely!"

That's their cue.

Tweek and Craig gently nudge their heads together before the noirette lets go of his boyfriend's hand.

"I do not know what is going on but-"

The sliding doors open.

And Grandmother Daisy, Laura and Thomas step out.

They all look marvelous in Tweek's eyes. Laura is wearing a simple  brown winter dress similar to her daughter's, Thomas is wearing a beige suit and tie. They are holding similar daisy bouquets.

And Grandmother Daisy…

She is wearing a more modern outfit. A daisy dress, in the same design of the infamous strawberry dress. Her hair is down and she is wearing yellow doll shoes.

"Oh my Lord…"

Craig and Tweek stare at one another before the noirette nods his head.

Show time.

Tweek faces the piano, feeling the cold piano keys under his fingers. The mic is placed perfectly and the speakers are on.

With a deep breath, he starts to play.

And he could feel everyone's eyes on him.

"There is a flower within my heart

Daisy, Daisy"

He sings as he focuses on pressing certain keys to the song.

Thomas and Laura give their bouquet to the older Tucker, with the red head asking her for a dance.

Tweek glances at his boyfriend. And he looks happy. So happy.

"Planted one day by a glancing dart

Planted by Daisy Bell."

"Did you guys plan all of this?" Daisy asks her son who slowly leads her to the middle of the backyard.

"Tweek and Craig planned it and the rest of us helped make it happen." Thomas replies.

"Whether she loves me or loves me not

Sometimes it's hard to tell."

They start to dance, slow and in beat with Tweek's. Thomas is singing along with the young blonde, voice deeper but everyone there could feel the love he has for his mom.

"Yet I am longing to share the lot

Of beautiful Daisy Bell."

Tweek looks over to Craig who is already looking at him. He sees the noirette signals the others. And the blonde only has to play at this point.

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do."

Everyone starts singing and Tweek feels his heart bursting in joy. Even though the Tuckers are slightly nasally, they still have wonderful voices.

"I'm half crazy all for the love of you."

Even the guys and William are singing along. Now for the flowers.

"It won't be a stylish marriage

I can't afford the carriage."

William places a wooden chair covered with a white sheet and has little daisies around it in front of the long table.

"But you'd look sweet on the seat

Of a bicycle built for two."

Thomas stops twirling his mother, who is at the brink of tears. He guides and lets her sit on the chair. They share a hug before Jimmy makes his way to the old woman.

"We will go tandem as man and wife

Daisy, Daisy."

"F-For you, Madam." Jimmy winks as he hands the bouquet.

"Thank you, dear boy." Daisy giggles and hugs him gently, kissing his forehead. Once he is back in his spot, Clyde is next.

"Peddling our way down the road of life

I and my Daisy Bell"

"Happy Birthday, Grandma Tucker!" The brunette grins and hands her the bouquet.

"Why, thank you, Clyde. Your father loves you dear." She smiles sweetly and kisses the top of the brunette's head.

They share a hug, with the smaller of the two hugging a bit tighter but that's just his energetic self.

"When the roads and we both dispise

P'licemen and lamps as well"

Clyde is singing a little louder as Token and William hand their bouquets to Daisy and greet her a happy birthday. The butler is surprised when the old woman pulls him for a hug.

"Thank you, William. You are doing a wonderful job. The Blacks are a sweet family and I am sure they are lucky that you are with them."

William smiles and bows before kissing the back of her hand.

"You are too kind, m'lady."

"There are bright lights in the dazzling eyes

Of beautiful Daisy Bell"

"And you," The butler steps to the side to let Daisy hug his young master.

"Thank you, my child. You have been a good friend to my children."

Token hugs back and chuckles when she presses a soft kiss on his forehead.

"They are nothing but accepting of me. I couldn't ask for more."

Tweek tilts his head back, confident that he can play the rest of the song without any mistake.

He wants to see this.

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do

I'm half crazy all for the love of you"

Tricia and Craig walk towards their grandmother and that's when Daisy bursts into tears but a smile is still present on her face. The youngest Tucker is sniffling as well and she holds the bouquet out with both hands.

"H-Happy, hngh, birthday, grandmama!" She yells, trying to act tough even though she is now full on sobbing.

"Oh, come here."

Craig steps to the side, letting his younger sister have her moment with their grandmother. They hug each other tightly, with Daisy rubbing comforting circles on her granddaughter's back.

"It won't be a stylish marriage

I can't afford the carriage"

"Thank you, dear one. I love you." Daisy kisses Tricia's forehead gently while wiping her tears away.

"I love you too, grandmama." The young blonde sniffles and she walks back to the guys. Jimmy pats her head as she continues to cry happy tears.

"But you'd look sweet"

Craig stands in front of Daisy. They smile at each other and the old woman tilts her head down for the noirette to place the flower crown on top of her head.

"on the seat." Tweek sings softly and lets his boyfriend finish the song.

"Of a bicycle built for two."

Daisy wipes her tears away. A few rolls down Craig's face but he shakes his head. He sniffs and smiles wider, showing his crooked teeth. The old woman sobs and pulls him in for a tight hug.

"Happy birthday, Grandmama."

They rest their foreheads on one another and Craig is crying now. He sobs and rubs his eyes with the sleeve of his suit.

Tweek is facing the crowd and he wants to comfort him but he knows those tears are not of grief and sorrow.

They are tears of love and care.

Daisy looks over to him and the blonde stiffens. She smiles and beckons for him to come near. He hesitantly walks towards them, fighting the urge to hold Craig's hands.

"Boys, listen to me."

Tweek nods at her and Craig sobs his answer, still trying to aggressively wipe his tears away.

"We all accept both of you. There is no reason for the two of you to hide."

Tweek couldn't stop the audible gasp that escapes his lips.

Daisy cups both of their cheeks and kisses Tweek's forehead. Her smile is both sweet and teasing. She stands up but still leaning down a bit.

"Of course, I know. I may be old but I know you well, Craig. It's okay."

Craig sobs louder and he hugs his grandmother's leg and Tweek does the same, happiness spreading in his chest even though he is bawling in tune with his boyfriend.

"There, there." Daisy pets both of their heads.

"T-Tweek, I-I like you, okay?!" Craig shouts, still crying.

Tweek nods and they hold hands as the blonde tries to reply but his throat is occupied gasping and sobbing at the moment. Attempt number two is better.

"I l-like you too!!"

Even though his eyes are a bit blurry due to the tears, he sees Token patting Clyde's head with the brunette clinging to him as he cries too. Jimmy is side hugging Tricia,  who hasn't stopped crying, and leaning on his crutch for support.

Tweek doesn't want this moment to end.

"You are part of our family, Tweek." Daisy says, kneeling when the boys let her go.

She grabs a single daisy from the bouquet and places it behind the young blonde's ear, taking the cap off.

"I know Craig is really important to you. And you are important to my grandson too."

She places another daisy behind Craig's ear. They both have calmed down, only sniffling now. Tricia runs towards them and hugs her brother on the left. Thomas and Laura kneel behind the boys and place their hands on the shoulders.

"Craig wants to give this to you. He forgot it in the car because of excitement." Thomas laughs as he hands a polaroid picture to Daisy.

Tweek knows that picture. It's the picture that Craig has on his locker.

It's Grandmother Daisy, wearing her beloved violet cardigan. She has a flower crown made out of daisies on her head, like right now.

"It's to add to your pictures. You don't have a picture of yourself." Craig said, squeezing Tweek's hand.

"Oh, Craiggy.." She sighs happily then turns to Tweek. "Guess I have to take a picture of you too."

Tweek knows at that moment that the guys were right.

"Grandma Daisy?"

"Yes, Tweek?"

"Can I show you mine and Craig's bicycle?"
