Couples Play Truth or Drink | Yoongi and Jeongguk | VCut

Summary:

“Maybe we should make couple TikToks,” Jeongguk says, and waits.

There’s half a heartbeat before Yoongi’s already complaining.

(or: Yoongi and Jeongguk go to Truth or Drink, couples edition).

Notes:

it's been a while, huh? missed these two.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When Jungkook got the e-mail from the Youtube channel, he knew immediately that things would get either messy or embarrassing. Or possibly even both. But God… he had no idea it’d be to this extent, that’s for sure.

“Listen, hyung, I know we are no strangers to this position”, he murmurs, trying to ignore the blinking eyes of no less than five - five! - of the cameras that are currently turned on at every move, capturing everything from every possible angle. “But usually there’s not this many people around to see us.”

“You mean you’re not into voyeurism, then?” Yoongi asks, thinking he’s so funny as he smiles up at him, wide and gummy, and Jungkook swears that he tries not to get affected, but even mortified as he is, he still feels his stomach clench at the sight of that smile.

Usually that makes his heart flutter, but right now it just makes him wanna smack Yoongi in the face.

“No, I’m not, you dick,” he huffs, making Yoongi and about 3 other staff members blurt out in laughter. Jungkook feels Yoongi’s laughter on him, since he’s… well, right on his lap and staring into the other man’s eyes since that’s what the card told him to do. A goddamn card.

“That makes one of us,” Yoongi answers, and his eyes are full of mischief. He even gives Jungkook a cheeky little eyebrow raise.

Jungkook's appalled.

Hyung!” he complains, and feels a flush rise to his cheeks when he realizes how squeaky his voice sounds, but that’s too late to control now. He moves as if to pull away from Yoongi’s hold, but the other man just laughs at his loud reaction, shaking his head at him as if Jungkook is the one being ridiculous.

“Oh, please, Jungkook-ah,” Yoongi says, rolling his eyes at him, though his smile turns a little gentler when he sees just how flustered Jungkook looks. “You’re not that much of a prude, don’t act like it just because of the cameras.”

“I’m not acting ‘cause of the cameras,” he murmurs, and it’s nearly impossible to keep staring into Yoongi’s eyes at this point, and it honestly takes a herculean effort not to turn away, but somehow he still does it. He still feels a little wronged, though.

He knows he must look sulky, but what can he do? He’s sitting on his boyfriend’s lap in front of a bunch of strangers and even more cameras than he can possibly realize, feeling like an old granny clutching her pearls as Yoongi makes a harmless innuendo about his… sexual likes and dislikes, because for some dumb reason he thought it’d be hilarious to send their names in to be a feature couple in one of those Truth or Drink viral channels on Youtube.

Honestly, what in the world was he thinking?

He shakes his head, trying to get back in the moment. He doesn’t have to be such a stuck-up right now. It’s just a video. They are just having fun.

“Hey, sweetheart,” Yoongi begins, his smile turning small but still beautiful, still blinding. “It’s okay, I was just teasing. I don’t actually have a voyeurism kink, okay?”

Jungkook rolls his eyes as Yoongi’s easy, steadfast presence calms his nerves down quick as ever. Thing is, he just gets into his head sometimes. And he’s nervous. Neither of them are the most talkative people in the world, but when they are together things just bloom easily - being in this position, in front of so many others, isn’t easy. But… well. He can admit that it’s a little funny. Amusing, if anything.

“It’s fine, hyung, even if you did have it,” he responds, huffing again. “God knows you are into some weird shit sometimes…”

Hey! ” Yoongi admonishes, and his face just looks so offended it makes Jungkook laugh, his loud HAHAHA laugh that honestly sounds like a cartoon character. “I’m not, that’s not true.”

“If that’s what you choose to believe,” Jungkook giggles, and Yoongi rolls his eyes at him again. There’s something sweet on those eyes, though, and it makes Jungkook want to hide his face again. He doesn’t. It’s hard not to.

“What was it, then?” Yoongi questions, always aware of him. Always knowing. He can’t hide from those eyes, he thinks. It’d be like hiding from his own shadow, his own reflection. He knows Yoongi would be able to see him even in the dark.

“Just… nervous, I guess,” he says, not one to lie. No reason to, not when Yoongi knows. “Just comes and goes sometimes, you know that. Being in front of a billion cameras isn’t helping either.”

Yoongi hums, nodding slowly at the words. He makes a little face, and Jungkook knows that face, and he’s shaking his head no before Yoongi can get a word in.

“No, I don’t wanna go home, Yoon, thanks for asking.”

“I didn’t say anything,” Yoongi complains.

“You were about to, don’t deny it.”

“Fine, I won’t deny it, but we could if you…”

“Hyung. No.”

“Well, alright, then.”

“You are coddling me.”

“It’s not like I can help it, you know I just-”

“Hey, guys,” a deep, semi-familiar voice cuts through their easy back and forth, and it’s stalling enough to make them jump back a little bit, Jungkook only now realizing just how close they had gotten in the last few seconds as he pulls back from Yoongi’s face. He could feel Yoongi’s breath on his mouth, for God’s sake. “Your three minutes are up. You know… from the challenge? The card? Actually, it’s been like five minutes now but we were just too entertained to say anything, to be honest.”

Oh.

The card. The challenge.

“Shit,” they say at the same time, looking at each other a little dejectedly, at least on his part for sure. Jungkook was just starting to like this thing.

“I totally forgot that you were all here,” Yoongi comments, and Jeongguk nods his agreement quietly as he gets up from his boyfriend’s lap. His legs feel like they are not his own as his blood flow goes back down to it, having grown used to the awkward form they were positioned in.

"Oh, my goodness, we finished the challenge but I still want to drink," he sighs, wobbling for a few steps before dropping down on his assigned chair across the small table between him and Yoongi, the surface of which has a handful of different bottles of booze.

Yoongi makes a brief movement with his hand as to sign his similar opinion, pushing his own chair forward towards the table once more.

"Be my guest," the staff member who spoke before continues, gesturing towards the bottles with a smile. Taehyung, his name was. "I've been told that Yoongi likes his hard liquor so there's a couple of options there."

Yoongi smiles, shaking his head a bit. He looks good, Jungkook thinks. Looks really good. He wouldn't imagine that anyone could look good under the flashing lights of the studio but Yoongi does, because of course he does.

"Hyung looks good," Jungkook murmurs, instinctively tucking his hair behind his ears in embarrassment, but he just had to say it.

Yoongi pauses a little when he's turning the bottles around to check their contents, giving Jungkook a surprised look before bowing his head a bit in silent gratitude, trying to contain a flustered little smile that starts to tug on the pretty corners of his mouth.

"Are you trying to butter me up so I can pay for dinner again?" he comments, concealing his bashfulness by changing the topic, as he always does. Jungkook doesn't mind it. "Because it's working, I'll tell you that."

"No," Jungkook giggles, a bit airy. "Just the truth."

"Ah," the other man breathes, visibly embarrassed. He shakes his head again and just refuses to meet Jeongguk's eyes across the table. The sight makes Jungkook bite down on his lower lip to keep himself from smiling wide.

Yoongi's still looking down as he chooses a random bottle from the selection, before filling up their shot cups with the amber liquid that looks decidedly threatening. "Don't do this. You know I can't take compliments like that."

"That's why I do it."

A few giggles echo across the studio, the staff members obviously finding their little quarrel amusing. Jungkook briefly wonders how they must look like from an outside point of view. It has always been so easy to get lost in them

"Don't I know it," Yoongi says, finally lifting up his face to look at Jungkook from below. His cheeks are adorably flushed. "You're a mean one, sweetheart."

Jungkook smiles, fond enough to make himself dizzy. He grabs his cup, lifting it between them.

"Let's drink to that, love."

They drink.

Yoongi hums in appreciation.

Jungkook pales.

"It's good," Yoongi comments, nodding towards Taehyung's form in the shadows behind the camera. "Good job, Taehyung."

"Thank you, Yoongi," Taehyung says, and his smile is beaming enough for Jungkook to see it all the way from across the room, through his teary eyes.

Honestly, someone seems to have a crush on his boyfriend. He's not bothered about it, well… not too bothered. But something must have shown on his face, cause Taehyung quickly adds, light-hearted. "Jungkook doesn't seem to agree, though."

"This tastes like butt," he mumbles, and God it feels like he just drank gasoline. Now what in the world is this?!

"Jungkook's a lightweight," Yoongi informs them as if it's breaking news or something, and Jungkook's swears he can see the man's chest puff up a little.

"Stop peacocking, hyung. Some of us still have our taste buds."

"It's not peacocking when it's the truth, eh?" His boyfriend asks, resting one of his arms on the table and leaning in towards Jungkook, cocky as hell, the watch on his wrist glinting softly under the white lights. Jungkook feels a little weak at the knees.

Yoongi's hot when he's cocky like this.

"What can I say when I can handle my liquor and you cannot? Must I remind you of what happened in New York?"

Faintly, Jungkook thinks he can hear somebody ask "what happened in New York" but he's quicker, his hand moving at lightning speed at the nearest downturned card in front of him. He doesn't talk about what happened in New York.

"Alright, next question."

Yoongi makes a humming sound, as if he knows better, and Jungkook feels his ears start to burn a little bit so he's quick to start reading.

"What was your first impression of me when we first met?"

He tosses the card to the discard pile, a little nuggle of feelings starting to squeeze at his chest. Oh, this is gonna be difficult.

Yoongi breathes loudly out his nose, visibly embarrassed, and does that thing he does where he just won’t look at Jungkook in the face. There’s polite anticipation in the air, the staff around them quietly waiting for the answer. Jungkook instinctively starts touching his face for absolutely no reason. Good God.

“Well,” Yoongi begins, looking down at his hands that are resting over the wooden table. Jungkook sees him picking at his thumb’s cuticles with nerves. “I thought you were amazing. Remember you used to busk at that park downtown every Friday night on your own? Just you and your guitar?”

Jungkook nods in silent assent, but doesn’t think he could speak up right now even if he tried. At least, not without sounding constipated or in pain or in love or something.

“You were amazing. Your voice… your charisma, it was… unbelievable. The way it felt like the world stopped whenever you started to sing, it’s something rare. I thought you were a star,” Yoongi says, laughing softly and he sounds just so fond and reminiscing that it makes Jungkook want to cry. It’s been such a long time coming. “I still think that.”

“Oh,” Jungkook whispers, still nodding a bit dumbly as if in a daze. He must look like a fool, but that was just… that was… “Thank you, hyung. Love. It’s been a long time, right?”

“It has,” Yoongi agrees, and does an awkward, aborted motion with his hands, as if he was about to reach across the table towards him.

Jungkook laughs, rolling his eyes a bit, and rests a hand on the table so Yoongi can hold it if he wants. It takes a heartbeat, but soon enough Yoongi’s big, warm hand covers his own. It's difficult to get a good enough angle to interlace their fingers like he wants to, so Jungkook just grips Yoongi's fingers from under his palm. This is good too.

“Good to know I had groupies,” he comments, breaking a little bit of the intense moment they just had. He might go crazy on camera if he gets too much into what Yoongi’s words mean to him.

“Yah, Jeon Jungkook,” Yoongi complains, finally lifting his gaze to meet Jungkook's. There’s mirth, and love, and affection dancing behind those eyes. Yoongi shakes his head, as if in disbelief. “Of course you had groupies, do you remember that old man that kept trying to take you out for dinner? Think he might have wanted to be your sugar daddy or something.”

“Hyung,” Jungkook begins, and there’s something in his voice that makes recognition flash across Yoongi’s face. He ignores the other man’s warning of don’t you do it and just. “You were the old man who kept trying to take me out for dinner.”

“I hate you,” Yoongi mumbles, and honest to God tries to pull his hand away from Jungkook's grasp, but of course he doesn’t let it, pulling on the other man's fingers with both his hands now.

“Shut up, Yoongi, you’re just complaining,” he laughs, “think about it. I didn’t say no to you when you asked, right?”

“Damn right you didn’t,” Yoongi sulks, a flush rising to his cheeks when Jungkook laughs even more, accompanied by the giggles from behind the cameras.

“See? There’s nothing to be upset about, grandpa,” he smiles, teasing a bit more. If Yoongi looked genuinely embarrassed he would stop, of course, but he knows his boyfriend and his limits. And he also knows that, despite his shy nature, Yoongi loves it when he’s being a little shit. “I’d let you wine and dine me any day, even if you did look a little bit creepy staring at me from across the park.”

“You really were one of a kind,” Yoongi agrees, smiling at the memory. “You should really do it again.”

“Only if you go with me,” Jungkook proposes. “We could be a rap duo.”

“You guys like rap?” someone asks, not Taehyung this time. Both turn their heads at the voice’s direction in unison, and the guy who asked does an awkward little wave from the corner of the room. He has a big headset on, probably a sound-design person. "That's cool. I love rap.”

“Yoongi’s whole personality is based on how much he loves rap,” Jungkook rolls his eyes.

“Wow,” Yoongi huffs. “You must secretly hate me. That’s not true at all, I love rap a normal amount, okay?”

“If you say so,” Jungkook mumbles.

“Jungk-Are you serious? Did you really just look into the camera as if you’re on The Office?”

“How about you ask him now, Yoongi?” Taehyung butts in, before they can get too into teasing each other. God knows they could go on forever with this. Taehyung’s voice is light-hearted though, so he doesn’t seem bothered at all. In fact, Jungkook thinks the man might be actually loving this. “About his first impression of you.”

Yoongi knocks a fist on the wooden table, making the bottles clink against each other as he ignores Jungkook's warning “hyung!”.

“Finally, my moment has come. Thank you, Taehyungie,” he says, sounding like a judge on a damn hearing. Great. “Jeon Jungkook, what was your first impression of me when we first met, huh?”

“God...” he mutters, feeling his stomach sink. His first impression of Yoongi? Well…

“You thought I was God?”

“No, stop it, hyung,” he sounds whiny even to his own ears. “This is difficult, okay?”

“I’m just kidding, sweetheart,” Yoongi laughs, at ease. “Take your time, it’s okay.”

Jungkook sighs, grateful, and squeezes Yoongi’s hand on his.

His first impression of Yoongi was… oh. I’m gonna fall in love with you, won’t I? Easy as that.

It’s true that he used to busk almost religiously every week, less for the money, more for the thrill of it all. Being out there in the open, singing his heart out to whoever it was that was going to listen - it almost didn’t matter. All he ever wanted was to let go. But people liked it though, and he quickly gained considerable social media following and even some actual fans after a while.

The park Jungkook used to go to was placed near a commercial street, brimming with corporations and their workers and, as it turns out, Yoongi was one of them. Min Yoongi of Tyrell Corps, a computer engineering and data senior analyst. Not at all the person Jungkook assumed he would fall for, but the one who threw his world off its axis from the very first sight. He’d seen Yoongi strolling around the park a few times, out for a smoke or just to relax a bit after his exhausting work hours. Jungkook would sing and sing well into the night and, sometimes, Yoongi would be his only company after dark.

It was nice. Yoongi seemed nice, though he never approached Jungkook to speak. He did CashApp Jungkook a lot through social media, though, always with a “good song” or “good job” or something of the sort attached to it. It was nice. And exciting too, if Jungkook's being honest. To have a cool, older, handsome - God, was he handsome - decidedly rich man being so supportive like that. What can he say? He’s only human.

Jungkook was sad the first time Yoongi spoke to him. All of his songs were mellow, and he’ll admit that he did shed a tear or two once or twice. It was one of those days. Nothing specific, just… a day. Yoongi accompanied him for a few minutes as usual, though a little closer this time. Jungkook could honestly feel the man’s gaze on him, and whenever he’d look up, Yoongi would give him a supportive smile - a little embarrassed, a little awkward, but a smile. And the sight of it was so nice, just so, so nice, that it pulled Jungkook out of his funk enough for him to smile back.

A few hours later, well into the night, Jungkook was packing up to take the train back home when Yoongi walked up to him, carrying his own backpack. Jungkook barely got a word in when Yoongi blurted out a “I don’t know why you’re sad, and I don’t know you at all, but I just want to say that you have something really special. Just… just keep fighting a little more, okay? That’s it just… hang in there a little more”

Cue to Jungkook gasping, hugging his own torso with his arms like a loser as if to placate himself.

Cue to Yoongi blurting out a million apologies, looking as if he just stepped into a puppy's tail or something, as if he’s done something wrong.

Cue to Jungkook bursting in tears.

Yeah… that was… that night was something.

“My first impression of Yoongi was that he was a very aggressive motivational speaker,” Jungkook begins, eyes welling up with tears right then and there, and honestly… he doesn’t even care. All he cares about is right across the table, looking at him as if he too is living the memory again. “And that I was going to fall in love with him.”

Yoongi makes a little movement with his head in recognition, but says no more. He just looks at Jungkook… and that is that. There’s nothing to be said, they just know it. They lived it. Jungkook's answering smile is knowingly shy, but truthful. He doesn’t think he ever meant anything as much as this.

“Wow, guys, that’s so sweet,” Taehyung honestly squeals, and it’s enough to cut through the intense atmosphere, making most people in the room let out a little giggle. “You are a great couple, you know? I just wanted to say that.”

Sound-design-guy whistles in response, shaking his head in admonishment, though the look on his face is kind.

“He must really mean it. I don’t think he ever said something like this to a couple before.”

“Don’t you agree though, Joonie?” Taehyung asks, turning around to where Sound-design-guy, who’s name is apparently Joonie, is sitting behind a large laptop.

Joonie nods in agreement, but says no more. He has dimples. It’s cute.

“Alright,” Yoongi breathes, sounding a bit overwhelmed. He meets Jungkook's eyes, though, and they are full of delight. It makes Jungkook smile. “Let’s continue, okay?”

Yoongi pulls another card, looks at the question and just… starts coughing, as if choking on his own saliva. Shit… here they go.

“What is it, Yoon? God, I wanna die already,” he complains, bracing himself for disaster.

“In which sexual position do you think I excel in? Take 2 shots not to answer.”

“Oh, come on now,” he complains, kicking his legs under the table, accidentally hitting Yoongi on the shin, which he responds to with an what the hell? “I can’t answer that, you guys. What kind of 180 turn is that anyway? We were literally just crying and being cute ”

“You can just take 2 shots, you don’t have to kick me,” Yoongi mumbles, pouting. He’s pouting. Jungkook will die.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m just… ugh!”

“Guess you don’t excel in anything, Yoongi,” Taehyung teases, smiling big and full of mischief.

“Hey!” both Jungkook and Yoongi complain in unison, and Yoongi starts babbling about how he may look like a nerd but he’s actually really well-versed in the physical aspect of love or whatever but Jungkook honestly blocks it out. He doesn’t think he’ll be able to pay attention and not want to burst into flames. After a moment, he takes a deep breath to fortify himself.

“Hey, hey, listen,” he interrupts Yoongi mid-sentence as he’s going on about how he has read all the 12 versions of something-something-Guide to Bodily Pleasure. His boyfriend whips his head around to look at him and his eyes genuinely look like saucers for a moment. Jungkook refrains from laughing as he continues. “I’ll say it.”

“Jungkook, for the love of God…”

“Yoongi, he… he has a thing with… with tongue, you know,” Jungkook murmurs, and he feels his blush travel all the way from his cheeks to his chest. That’s how embarrassed he is. But he already started this so… fuck it. “He even has a rap song that mentions he has tongue technology.”

Yoongi sighs, and his shoulders droop comically as if in a cartoon while the room goes wild with whistles and teasing giggles. He thinks he sees Joonie facepalm from the corner of his eyes.

“Let’s just say he tells no lies in that song. His tongue really is a weapon of ass-destruction.”

It’s quiet for a moment. And then.

“Jungkook... what in the...”

Yoongi’s complaints are swallowed by a ruckus - a genuine, merciless ruckus that just booms across the studio. Jungkook can’t even help but laugh at the complete ridicule of the situation, something the kids would defintely call 'cringe', but honestly… it is true. Yoongi’s one dangerous man.

“Oh my God,” someone cries, and if the voice wasn’t so high-pitched in tone, Jungkook would have thought it was Yoongi himself. It’s not Joonie nor Taehyung, but another guy that just seems to be there apparently, not doing much of anything but watch. Jungkook doesn’t know why he never noticed him there before, the guy’s hair is bright yellow like a Sharpie.

“Hyung, it was a compliment, you know it’s true,” Jungkook giggles, ignoring his own bashfulness.

“Well, let’s see if you like it, then,” Yoongi says, and oh… oh. “As for the position my lovely boyfriend Jungkook excels in…”

“Yoongi, don’t you do it -”

“Let’s just say there’s a reason why Jungkook's ass is often at my face level, okay? Have you ever seen that meme of the guy with the neck-brace on the ER? You see I’m skinny, right?”

“Shut up, shut up, they get it, alright?” Jungkook admonishes, reaching across the table to cover Yoongi’s mouth with both his hands.

“So that’s how the cookie crumbles, huh?” Yoongi murmurs, but it’s muffled from behind Jungkook's hands. The staff is still cackling around them though, and he must look beet-red, but the whole thing’s almost too funny to care about. “The Kookie.”

“That was terrible, never make that joke again.”

“You started it!”

“And I’m ending it.”

Yoongi licks his hand in response, and Jungkook grimaces at the wetness, pulling away. “That was traumatic. Let’s drink to that.”

“Say no more,” Yoongi agrees, picking another bottle up at random before serving Jungkook and then himself.

Taehyung's face is honestly red behind the camera, and Jungkook thinks he's quite possibly right about the other man's crush, but honestly… who can blame him? Yoongi's a catch, for sure.

"I'll ask this time," he picks up a card. "Did you think that we would last as long as we did so far?".

Yoongi hums as he takes in the question, and he leans back into the chair a bit, deep in thought.

"No," he answers finally, and scratches the back of his neck as he does when nervous. "No, I didn't think we would. Sometimes it still feels like a dream."

Jungkook's heart feels a rush of difficult emotions at that. Hurt, disappointment, a little bit of insecurity.

"And why is that?" He checks, just to be sure.

Yoongi sighs.

"You know how I am, I… I have a difficult relationship with my head and my perception of my own self is damn blurry sometimes," he explains, looking burdened, as if confessing something embarrassing. "Sometimes I think that I'm just… too normal, I guess. Too serious. And you just shine so bright and I don't know. I guess I sometimes think that I'll end up dragging you down or that I'll ruin us somehow."

"Yoongi, that's such -"

"Not so much anymore, don't be upset," Yoongi interferes, finally moving forward again, closer to the table and, consequently, Jungkook. "Not as much as I used to, in the beginning of our relationship, I mean. Now this is just… a ghost that comes at random, but always goes."

"Do you promise?" He needs to make sure, he needs to make sure that this ghost goes away and doesn't burden Yoongi anymore or else he doesn't know what he will do. "Because, Yoongi, that's so not true. You are perfect. You are so perfect and listening you speak right now just felt like going into my own insecurities. Honestly, like… you are successful, and important at work, and everybody loves you. You are funny, and beautiful, and so passionate - and that's just scratching at the surface. How could you not be perfect? How could you not be perfect to me?"

Jungkook shakes his head in disbelief. How can Yoongi doubt himself even for a second? But then again… how can he? When he knows just how much they mean to each other? As it turns out, it seems like the both of them are way more alike than they initially thought.

“How about you?” Yoongi asks, eyes teary but… curious. “Did you think we’d end up together this long?”

“God, I…” Jungkook begins, unsure. “I don’t know… yes. Yes, I think I did. You know I don’t… think about these things, I don’t see things like this. I’m more of an in-the-moment type of person, you know that. But Yoongi… ever since we met, I just knew you were it for me. That hasn’t changed and it never will.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Yes, I do!” Jungkook complains, a little frustrated now. He knows Yoongi has his own doubts but about them? About who they are to each other? “Yes, I do know it. Honestly, Yoongi… do you, like, I don’t know. Do you wanna break up with me or something?”

“What the…” Yoongi blurts out, and his eyes are comically wide in his face in a way that’d be endearing had this been any other kind of situation. Right now, it just makes Jungkook wanna cry. “Of course I don’t, Jungkook. You are my…”

Yoongi sighs, shaking his head as if disappointed, with himself mostly. The silence in the studio is palpable, like a thick fog. It’s making Jungkook a little crazy.

“You are the love of my life, Jungkook,” Yoongi murmurs, gaze heavy and intense and right into Jungkook's eyes. He doesn’t think he’s ever seen Yoongi look so serious. “You are it for me too. I just have a hard time believing how lucky I am sometimes.”

“I’ll jump across this table right now, don’t - don’t say things like that,” Jungkook complains, chest squeezing. He finally does get up, circling the table before getting to Yoongi’s hunched forward form, who’s posture hikes up like a bowstring as he lifts his head to meet his eyes.

“You’re too cute,” Yoongi comments, though it’s muffled from the way his face is squished on Jungkook's neck as they hug. The position is a little awkward, with Jungkook bending over at the waist to meet Yoongi’s still sitting form, but they make it work somehow. They always do.

When they pull apart, Yoongi gives him a look, one that Jungkook recognizes. He feels his cheeks flush but concedes, leaning in to give Yoongi a quick peck on the lips. His cheeks grow even hotter when he hears his boyfriend’s “thank you” in response, and quickly moves back to sit on his designated chair again.

“Alright, let’s continue this before I end up getting dumped on camera,” Yoongi complains, feigning worry. Jungkook rolls his eyes as giggles fill the room for what feels like the billionth time at this point.

“Last one, guys,” Taehyung warns, mirth clear in his voice. There’s an easy-going atmosphere in the room and Jungkook feels happy that the crew feels comfortable enough with them around to be this laid-back. It helps to put his own haywire emotions at ease too.

“I’ll just read it as soon as I pick it out so I don’t overthink,” Yoongi comments as he reaches over to the pile to pick their last card up. “Right, so… who fell in love first, you or me?”

Yoongi rolls his eyes, not even letting Jungkook take a breath before answering himself. “Of course I did… of course.”

“That’s not fair though,” Jungkook answers, hovering forward mindlessly to be closer to Yoongi’s hunched form. He rests a hand on his boyfriend’s forearm that’s leaning on the tabletop, just because he can. “I was in a position to be seen, so you got to know me way before I knew you. It’s understandable that you felt something because of it.”

“You don’t have to console me about it,” Yoongi laughs, visibly exasperated. He rests his free hand over Jungkook's in his arm, looking embarrassed at his own cheesiness and the need to be close, but too far gone into this mess to care too much about it. “Falling in love with you was an adventure, and it still is. And I don’t mind that I was the first. I feel lucky that you got there eventually too and that… I don’t know, we got to be here at all.”

Jungkook doesn’t know what to say, so he doesn’t say anything, just shakes his head - overwhelmed. Yoongi is one of a kind. “Ah, hyung…” he sighs, finally placating. “I’m the lucky one.”

Yoongi’s sharp eyes are brimming with tears when they meet his, and Jungkook knows for a fact he must look just as gone, but he just feels so… happy. To be here, with his man, telling the world about just how much they love each other. It’s overwhelming and cheesy as hell but they are both cheesy so it doesn’t matter. All that matters is right here. It was always been, since those nights together at the park, busking the world away.

“Jesus, just pick another one, you guys,” someone whines, and Jungkook nearly jumps in his seat at the interruption. Is the yellow-marker-hair guy again, and he’s squeezing both his hands in front of his body as if in pain. “I can’t stand this, just one more, promise.”

“Fine, God… let’s just rip it off like a band-aid, okay, sweetheart?” Yoongi asks, still sniffing a little bit as his hands move at lightning speed to rest over the pile.

"Just ask it, you're making me crazy!" Jungkook whines.

"Okay," Yoongi breathes, sharp eyes widening a little at what's in the card. Oh, dammit. "Well, would you marry me?"

"Yes, I would," he rolls his eyes, anxiety loosening from his chest. "What kind of stupid question is this? Isn't this obvious by now?"

Yoongi gawks, and the silence in the room is enough to suffocate a man. Not Jungkook, though. "I'm just waiting, hyung. You're just too slow, I guess."

"Hey, I'm not slow," Yoongi complains, still looking a little surprised, and flustered which is cute. But also pleased.

Taehyung huffs from behind the camera, shaking his head as if exasperated. Jungkook conceals the need to smile. Yoongi's a self-proclaimed genius, and he truly is, but honestly... when it comes to matters of the heart, his boyfriend can be very obtuse sometimes. He gives so easily, but is always so surprised to receive.

Jungkook sighs. Well, if the new determination behind Yoongi's eyes from across the table is anything to go by, he knows they'll have a long time together ahead still. A lot of time to get Yoongi used to being loved as much as he loves.

That's something Jungkook will die behind if he must.

A few weeks later, enrolled in bed together with Yoongi’s cold feet - cold, hyung! - tucked in comfortably between his, Jungkook thinks the whole thing could actually have turned a lot worse.

“Jesus, the people love us, look at some of these comments,” Yoongi says, in awe, as they scroll through the countless comments underneath the VCut video.

“These are hysterical, for sure,” Jungkook deadpans. “The thing you said about eating my ass was out of pocket, by the way.”

Yoongi huffs.

“You can’t just say my tongue is a weapon of ass-destruction and not expect me to retaliate."

“Retaliate,” Jungkook mimics, rolling his eyes. Yoongi’s just too funny sometimes. “Why are you talking as if it’s a diss track or something?”

Yoongi makes an aborted sound, as if groaning, before launching himself over Jungkook's body.

“Ow, hyung, ow,” he complains, just because he can because Yoongi weights basically nothing. He whines, trying to pull away from Yoongi’s grabby hands and arms where they surround him completely, his phone clutched tight on his free hand not to fly across the bed.

“God, you make me crazy sometimes, you know? You make me crazy,” Yoongi murmurs, hiding his face in the crook of Jungkook's neck where he likes.

“How do I make you crazy?” he giggles, unconsciously nuzzling into Yoongi’s fluffy hair, and hugging the other’s body with his thighs under the covers.

“With the things you say,” Yoongi complains, and Jungkook just knows he’s pouting. He can hear it in his boyfriend’s voice, for God’s sake. "Must you really talk back to me every time? I should teach you a lesson, you need to respect your elders."

"Hyung," Jungkook sighs, exasperated. "I literally got you in between my legs this instant. Don't refer to yourself as 'my elder' right now, please! "

Jungkook ignores the muffled "see?" he hears from under Yoongi's breath. His boyfriend is cute when he whines like this.

He scrolls down the comments under their video for a little longer, snorting at some, ignoring others, before his eyes zero-in his favourite so far. He feels himself flush a little bit, but tries to make a point of calling Yoongi’s name. After Yoongi’s answering hum, he asks:

“You wanna see my favourite comment?”

Yoongi feign complaints are muffled on his neck and chest as his boyfriend emerges from the confines of his hoodie, and from the corner of his eyes Jungkook sees Yoongi’s sharp ones peeking the cell phone screen from behind his overgrown bangs.

There’s a moment of silence.

Jungkook doesn’t break it when Yoongi takes in what he’s trying to say. He’s never been one to verbalize just how much he loves his boyfriend, Yoongi being the one who’s always saying it first.

Yoongi doesn’t this time, but pulls back a little more to finally lift up his head and stare into Jungkook's - big, sparkly , as the comment said - eyes. The love in Yoongi’s own is so overwhelming it nearly makes him turn away, but he holds Yoongi’s gaze.

Yoongi smiles.

“I always did say you have stars in your eyes.”

God… Jungkook could cry. He really, really loves this man of his. So much he doesn’t know what to do, so he just pulls Yoongi closer into his arms.

“They’re for you.”

Notes:

“Maybe we should make couple Tiktoks,” Jungkook comments, and waits.

There’s half a heartbeat before Yoongi’s already complaining.

“Never say that again. What do you take me for? I’m a computer scientist, Jungkook. I’m not going to be making TikToks…”

Jungkook's mind is foggy with the comfortable atmosphere, the deep rumble on his chest that’s echoing from Yoongi’s voice, so he honestly doesn’t ever hear the rest of Yoongi’s speech on his he’s not going to be doing couple yoga on a video any time soon. He just looks at his boyfriend as he speaks, feels his weight on his body, the warm gentleness of him, the way his mouth forms out the words so prettily, and honestly feels as if he’s never been more in love than right now.

When Jungkook got the e-mail from the Youtube channel, he knew immediately that things would get either messy or embarrassing. And, God… they did. What he didn’t know, though, is that that would bring a new light into their relationship and… a considerable amount of new admirers on his own channel too.

Well, Jungkook thinks, as Yoongi’s speech turns from couple TikToks into how Jungkook should post more covers of himself on Youtube, he already has all the attention and love he needs right here.
