Summary
Two months after the sniper and three weeks after Eddie left the 118, Buck is left dealing with his trauma alone. He decides to go to the beach to clear his mind, and ends up with more than he bargained for.

Summary
When Evan had left the ranch in Montana, wind in his hair and a familiar sort of heartbreak in his bones, the head rancher had given him a little paper bag as a parting gift.
“For safe travels,” he’d said, with a lopsided smile on his face that made Evan really, really want to stay. He still leaves, though, because there’s nothing left for him here, and there is still a world out there where things can be better, he’s sure of it.
In the Jeep, he opens the paper package, letting the thin chain slip into his hands. Hanging from it is a small medallion, flat and circular, inlaid with the image of a man holding a staff, a child on his back.
Saint Christopher, the note slipped alongside it says. To protect your travels.
Buck gets a Saint Christopher medallion on his travels. It changes nothing and everything.
