Work Text:
“Where are you going, pretty boy?” Kurapika chuckled.
The sun was just setting when Kurapika got back to the apartment for the first time in three days. Light Nostrade had recommended him as a bodyguard to one of his friends, another mafia boss. Kurapika spent the last few days out of town following his client around, accompanying him on errands.
There was an attempted assassination on his employer’s life on the second day. They were amateurs, however, non-Nen users. Kurapika swiftly disarmed them after the first line of bodyguards (also non-Nen users) were injured. He left the scene with a few scratches on his face and a moderate laceration on his bicep. Neither were significant enough to use his Holy Chain on, he’d let Leorio heal them. After his shift was over, he went to his room to bandage his arm up and send a quick goodnight text to his boyfriend.
When he entered the apartment, the only light on was is the bedroom. From what he could see, the kitchen and living room looked recently cleaned. He kicked off his shoes and took his duffel bag to the bedroom.
Leorio was in the en suite bathroom pushing his hair back with gel. He was dressed in a all black suit, white dress shirt with a few buttons undone and shiny black shoes. He had the blue sapphire stud earring Kurapika got him in his right ear as well. He looked away from the mirror when he heard Kurapika speak.
“I’m going to that charity dinner, remember?”
Right, Leorio was invited to some medical event to be a guest speaker.
“Am I not welcomed?” Kurapika questioned with an eyebrow raised as he went into the bedroom to change into pajamas. Leorio scoffed and began washing the gel of his hands.
“You look exhausted, so no, you aren’t welcomed.” He dried his hands off on a towel before putting his contacts in.
He agreed, “I am exhausted. So who’s your plus one?”
“Don’t have one. Shocking, I know.”
He cut the light off in the bathroom and went to Kurapika with his arms opened. Kurapika wrapped his arms around his waist and turned his head to put his ear to Leorio heart. Leorio ran his fingers through his slightly tangled blonde hair.
They stayed like this for a while, swaying a little. Leorio must have been infusing Nen into his fingertips because he started to drift off. He guided Kurapika to the bed and helped him settle under the covers. With eyes still closed, he motioned for Leorio to bend down. He obliged and the couple shared a sweet, gentle kiss. When Leorio stood up to his full height, he moved Kurapika’s bangs from his face.
“When are you going to be home?” He asked sleepily.
“I’m not sure. Eleven or twelve at the latest.”
Kurapika hummed, “Love you.”
“Love you too, Sunshine.”
Leorio pressed one last kiss to his forehead before turning the light off and heading out.
Kurapika went to sleep with light pink eyes and a smile on his face.
