GOD’S SIDE

Summary:

Kusuo Saiki found himself lured into a little cafe by Aiura Mikoto’s burning question about a vision she had received. Then his telepathy picked up a distress signal from a certain Satoru Gojo, begging for Saiki’s godlike abilities. Saiki realised that Gojo and him weren’t that different after all. Both of them wouldn’t call for help unless it was necessary. So Saiki didn’t even hesitate to teleport away, leaving the gyaru with a few burning questions. Like who exactly where the four mysterious people fighting alongside Saiki?

Aka, part 2 of GODLIKE. More Saiki and Gojo being dumb together :D

Notes:

Here it is, part 2! The tag lagged some nice and funny fics so I took it upon myself to write the second part. This one is more lighthearted and picks up right before part one. I hope you enjoy!

Italic sentences: thoughts // italic words: me being dramatic // <…> Saiki speaking telepathically

Work Text:

Aiura Mikoto leaned over Kusuo Saiki’s shoulder, peeking at the notebook in his hand. “Eeekk, what kind of monster are you drawing?” The other psychic exclaimed, looking with a disgusted glance at Saiki’s drawing. <mind your own business.> Saiki said, closing the notebook with a bang. <why are we here anyway?> Saiki then asked, looking at the semi abandoned cafe where the only other person here was the barista who was scrolling absentmindedly on her phone. Saiki pulled his gaze from the bored girl to the ecstatic girl.

“Because I saw a vision of you with 4 other people that’s not us and I want to know why you decided to replace the PK psychickers.” Mikoto said, staring angrily at the psychic in front of her and attempting to steal a sip from his drink (which Saiki did not allow at all, he simply used his telekinesis to pull the drink towards his hand before Aiura had a chance to do anything). <I’m not even part of any group.> Saiki said, stuffing his little notebook in his backpack.

Aiura slammed the table, causing the barista to stir up for a moment, look frantically around, and return back to her job as social media scroller. “Not even part of any group? Do we mean so little to you?” Mikoto exclaimed in disbelief, shooting a side glance at Toritsuka next to her before correcting herself. “Do I mean so little to you?” Toritsuka didn’t even look up from the filthy magazine he was reading at the insult.

<yes.> Saiki said, taking a long sip from his drink and looking at Mikoto in a challenging way. “You are cruel.” She said, about to steal Toritsuka’s drink before refraining, suddenly remembering how dirty the most useless member was. “But in all seriousness, who are those people? You all seemed pretty close.” Mikoto continued.

<I don’t know which people you’re referring to.> Saiki lied, because of course he knew exactly to whom Aiura Mikoto was referring to. The 4 people in question where Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki and Megumi Fushiguro. 4 people no one knew Saiki had ran across. And Saiki was planning on keeping it that way, because ever making any of them meet would only cause more problems for the psychic.

“Liar. You’re a psychic, you know everything.” Mikoto hissed through gritted teeth, Saiki simply shrugged and closed his eyes for a second. He could feel the cursed energy that ran through the two people in front of him, could feel the cursed energy stored into the building, nearly making a nice and clean pathway to walk. Ever since Satoru Gojo had touched Saiki’s skin he had been able to see the cursed energy running through things like Gojo could, but only if the psychic’s eyes were closed. Saiki wasn’t sure if it was a new kind of ability or something he had just somehow stolen from the white haired teacher. But at the end of the day, Saiki didn’t really care. It was just another pain to him.

“You’re hiding something. You’ve been avoiding us ever since that day you were so worried about something.” Mikoto said, playing with the paper straw in her empty drink as she continued to stare down at Saiki. <I’ve always been avoiding everyone.> Saiki said, which was indeed the truth. Mikoto remembered the first few days she’d been at PK Academy where Saiki had made it his mission to avoid her at all cost. “You know what I meant. More so than other times. Is it because of those people? Did one of them hurt your feelings, Kusuo?” Mikoto said in slight mock, Saiki simply rolled his eyes at the girl.

<it has nothing to do with anyone. Now, if we’re done here, I have a book to finish.> Saiki said, getting up from his seat. But the moment the psychic made an attempt at getting up he got hit with a loud and clear thought.

Psychic, I need your godlike abilities.

Saiki’s eyes slightly widened as he heard the most annoying voice loud and clear in his head, nearly like Satoru Gojo was a telepathic psychic himself. “What? Changed your mind?” Mikoto grinned at the boy’s sudden change in behaviour. <perhaps I’ve never had the chance to.> Saiki said, Mikoto wanted to groan and yell at the vagueness of the boy in front of her. Stop being so annoying and just tell me! She yelled inside her mind, pretty sure that Saiki heard her since he literally had no choice. Saiki simply shot a bored look at the girl, as if asking if she was serious at all.

And perhaps, Saiki thought, Gojo was right. They were both blessed in different ways, but cursed in others. Saiki teleported his bag home without explaining any of his behaviour before he pushed his green glasses a bit higher on his nose. All of that simply to teleport away in order to aid the man he had met months ago.

Aiura Mikoto was baffled at the psyhic’s sudden disappearance, thought it didn’t necessarily surprise her. He had displayed his weirdness and preservation a couple of times in front of Toritsuka and her, but he would often explain his strange behaviour with a very bored and annoyed sigh, nearly as if he was thinking wasn’t it clear and obvious what my intention was? But it was almost never obvious. The psychic always kept a certain amount of information to himself, shielding it off from his fellow PK psychickers. Nearly as if he was somehow protecting them.

But Mikoto quickly shook the thoughts away. Kusuo Saiki was nothing but an arrogant and selfish teenager who kept his powers hidden from the world. He always thought that he was better and above everyone else with the way he avoided everyone. Somewhere, somehow, Mikoto hoped that all of her soulmates strange behaviour was simply an act and that deep down, he did care about his friends.

With a (slightly harsh) elbow poke in Toritsuka’s ribs he jolted up from his magazine, slightly hiding it in nonexistent shame. “What do you want now?” He barked, annoyed at the disturbance. “Saiki left already, meeting dispatched.” Mikoto said as she packed her own bags and stood up. “Eehh meeting? What did we meet about?!” Toritsuka exclaimed as he too hurriedly grabbed his things together.

“You would’ve known if you’d have listened, stupid!” Mikoto yelled, outing her anger from one boy to another. “Why are you yelling? What’d I do?” Toritsuka yelled back, the barista looked up from her phone to look at the two yelling teenagers. She would’ve sworn that there was a third one with pink here there…

“You did nothing! That’s exactly it!” Mikoto huffed before running off, Toritsuka looked lost at the encounter before he brushed it away. Women… he thought before leaving too. The barista rolled her eyes. Customers… she thought as she continued to scroll on her phone.

Satoru Gojo despised three things in the world. Being involved with the higher ups was one and probably the most painful one too. The second one was alcohol, both because he was a lightweight and because it made him lose control of his powers. The third one was calling for help. After all, he was the strongest jujutsu sorcerer that was currently alive. Calling for help simply wasn’t in his dictionary. Because, who else was there to help him? But now, he finally gave in after his students yelled at him for annoying the curses so much that they decided to coordinate their attacks, thus trapping the teacher and his three students in a building surrounded by all of the cursed spirits in the neighbourhood.

“You’re an idiot.” Nobara Kugisaki said as she blew a strand of her hair out of her face. “Specify who please.” Megumi Fushiguro joined in the conversation, feeling too exhausted to even move anymore. “Everyone.” Kugisaki said, taking a seat on the ground as she watched her sensei observe the debris surrounding them. “Found a way out yet?” Kugisaki asked the teacher, her gaze glancing at Yuji Itadori who was laying face down on the ground. Itadori was fine, simply napping at the worst place possible (according to Kugisaki).

“I would if you’d just shut up.” Gojo said, continuing to find out any way out. His eyes were scanning the surroundings. Of course, he could simply teleport away or send his students somewhere else. But he had to be careful where he would send them to. Because if he send them right outside of the debris they’d be trapped in, they’d be free but attacked by the cursed spirits who were now simply lingering outside. If he send them to jujutsu high they’d be tended to, but a lot of questions would arise. Like, why were you there in the first place? How’d you get hurt like that? Why are you dressed like that?

Gojo was not looking forwards to explain as to why they were all dressed in silly little animal costumes. It’d be too embarrassing to confess that Gojo had lost a bet to the second years, thus causing his students and him to dress up like animals and run around an abandoned town like that while the second years laughed their asses off. Gojo was sure that Fushiguro still hadn’t forgiven the teacher about the fact that he was forced to wear a pink bunny costume.

“This is your fault, so fix it.” Kugisaki said, looking back at the teacher who simply huffed before scrunching his face. “There’s only one solution I know that’d be the least embarrassing.” Gojo finally said after 5 minutes of silence. “Is it that boy from a few months ago?” Fushiguro asked, Gojo turned around before nodding. His blindfold was on again after he had come to the conclusion. “Told you. Give me that money.” Kugisaki said, spreading her hand out only to stare at the brown bear costume. “Right. All of our belongings are with Maki, Panda and Inumaki-senpai.” Kugisaki mumbled, suddenly remembering (and confirming) that all of this indeed was Gojo-sensei’s fault.

“You placed a bet whether or not I’d turn to Saiki’s aid?” Gojo asked, raising an eyebrow underneath the blindfold. The two teenagers nodded at the same time. “I said you would. You looked too pleased to be around the boy, and you only look like that when you’re surrounded by people with a lot of power or people that manage to impress you. Megumi said you’d find a dumb way to get us out and embarrass yourself even more.” Kugisaki explained, proud of her analysis as Fushiguro rolled his eyes.

Itadori gave a loud yawn as he finally woke up, looking tiredly around at the 3 people near him. “Oh, we’re still trapped.” Itadori said before turning around. “Wake me up when we’re out.” He said, closing his eyes again. “Why is he just going back to sleep?” Kugisaki cried, but the boy was snoring again.

Gojo yawned too, and soon Kugisaki and Fushiguro followed. “Must be one of the cursed spirits doing. I hope he hurries up.” Gojo said as sent the thought out.

Psychic, I need your godlike abilities.

Kusuo Saiki teleported not even a minute later into the small space the 4 people were trapped in. “Oh good! You’re here!” Gojo smiled, scratching the back of his head in slight shame. <and you’re all dressed as zoo animals.> Saiki remarked, noticing how Kugisaki was dressed as a bear, Fushiguro as a pink bunny, Itadori as a yellow duck and Gojo as a cat. “It’s his fault.” Kugisaki and Fushiguro said at the same time, pointing at Gojo.

<doesn’t surprise me at all. It seems like he has a tendency to attract trouble.> Saiki slightly snorted, hinting at their very first meeting. “Blah blah blah, just help us getting out of here and exorcising these cursed spirits.” Gojo said, mimicking his hand like pac man when he said the blah blah blah part. Saiki looked up. <it’s crowded with them. How’d you piss them off this time?> Saiki asked as he looked at the teacher, the two awake students snorted at the remark.

“You’re besties already!” Kugisaki said, Saiki shot a warning glance at the girl who simply ignored the psychic’s gaze. “Just hurry up and get it done.” Gojo said, Saiki simply shook his head as he reverted the time back on everyone’s body, making Kugisaki gaze in awe and Itadori to wake up properly. “I didn’t know you could use reverse cursed techniques!” Kugisaki exclaimed.

Saiki simply ignored the remark as he restored the building to its previous state too. The teacher stretched before looking at his students and nodding. “Let’s exorcise them.” He said, all of the students nodded before dealing with the cursed spirits. Most of them were grade 2 or lower, so they were quickly dealt with as Saiki simply watched the sorcerers do their job.

But then, another special grade appeared, ready to hit the (once more) exhausted sorcerers. <Gojo!> Saiki yelled, attempting to stop the hit with his telekinesis as Gojo quickly teleported his students and him to a different location. Not even a second later the hit made an impact and crushed the concrete underneath them. Kugisaki stared with giant eyes at the place she just stood at. “That could’ve been us…” she muttered before Itadori pulled on her bear sleeve.

“Let’s give it some payback then.” Itadori said before launching at the curse, followed suit by Kugisaki’s nails hitting the curse and Fushiguro’s haunt dogs attacking it. Gojo stood by and watched his students handle the curse with ease. “They’ll be great grade 1 sorcerers someday. Maybe even special grade.” Gojo said, Saiki said nothing but simply stood by and watched everything happen.

“Thank you for coming.” Gojo said, Saiki shrugged. <kind of hard to ignore your annoying voice.> Saiki replied, causing Gojo to playfully hit Saiki on the arm. <I’m right tho. There’s a reason those cursed spirits all surrounded you.> Saiki huffed, Gojo rolled his eyes.

“Oh, before I forget. Did you know that your cursed energy has increased? You’re less of a blind spot than before.” Gojo said as his students walked over to him, ready to return to the second years to retrieve their uniforms again and stop making fools out of themselves. <what does that mean?> Saiki asked, but he already knew the answer. “If you’d practice, you’d probably be able to develop your own cursed technique.” Gojo said as his students simply stared at the boy in the green school uniform.

<I don’t want that.> Saiki said while Gojo grabbed the psychic by the collar like a dog and dragged him behind. “It’s not a case of wanting or not, it’s happening. Don’t say it doesn’t make you excited to be nearly as powerful as me.” Gojo continued as his students followed him towards where the second years where waiting. <it doesn’t.> Saiki said, but no one listened to the psychic anymore since his telepathic words where overshadowed by the laughter of a girl, a panda, and the soft chuckles of a boy with his mouth hidden.

“I knew you’d look hilarious!” The girl with the glasses, Maki Zen’in said, barely containing her tears as she flashed a picture of the people in front of her. Kugisaki looked less furious than before, Fushiguro was hiding his face with his hands, Itadori was brightly smiling in the picture while Gojo looked annoyed, with an even more annoyed boy held hostage in his hand.

“Sujiko. Tsunamayo.” The boy with his mouth covered asked. <Why am I here?> the psychic asked, looking at the former boy. Why did Gojo sensei drag a random boy here? He thought. I am wondering the same, Saiki sent to Inumaki’s head telepathically, causing the boy to stare at the psychic with wide eyes. It felt strange for Inumaki to finally hold a conversation that didn’t exist out of rice ball ingredients, it was something odd and exotic but he surely could get behind it if he was being honest.

“Maki, Panda, Toge, this is Saiki! My friend!” Gojo smiled, still holding the boy by his collar. <let me go, I’m not a dog.> Saiki said as he simply teleported underneath Gojo’s grasp. The three second years all raised an eyebrow at the pink haired boy. “So he has technique is similar to yours then?” Maki asked, Gojo nodded.

“I’d say he could be as powerful as me if he wanted to, but he doesn’t.” Gojo said, shaking his head. “Then why isn’t he at jujutsu high yet?” Panda asked. <because I’m not interested in your silly little world. I have my own problems, thank you very much.> Saiki said. <Now, are we done? Dinner’s nearly ready.> Saiki huffed, Gojo simply shrugged.

“Don’t just let him go! At least tell us more about him!” Itadori exclaimed, but Saiki had teleported away again. Gojo shrugged once more. “Shouldn’t have been asleep when he arrived. You made a bad second impression Yuji.” Gojo said, shaking his head in slight disappointment. “Shake.” Inumaki said, bringing in something very wise to the entire conversation.

Gojo simply hit Itadori on the back. “Cmon, let’s get our uniforms back on before heading back.” Gojo said, causing the second years to burst out in an even wider grin. “Oh. Didn’t we tell you? You have to wear those costumes for 24 hours.” Maki grinned.

“WHAT?!” They all exclaimed in unison. Perhaps God enjoyed to see them looking like a bunch of fools…

Saiki teleported back home, appearing right at the dinner table where his mom smiled and put a plate in front of her youngest son. “There you are, Ku-chan! How was your day?” She asked, but didn’t necessarily expect a response since her youngest son barely said anything. When his mother put his dinner in front of him the psychic was ready yell and curse god in the process. In front of him were some rice balls.

Is this some sick and twisted game, God? Saiki thought. Perhaps God never was on his side since the beginning…

Somewhere in the same town, Aiura Mikoto looked into her crystal ball, using her own clairvoyance to see what Saiki was up to. He was hanging around with a bunch of weird people in animal costumes and some other people in school uniforms. How odd, she thought as she didn’t even manage to recognise the uniform. She simply decided to shrug it off because it didn’t necessarily seem like Saiki was feeling at ease with those people. But if Mikoto had taken a little clearer look, she’d notice the point where Saiki teleported out of the grasp of a white haired man and things would’ve started clicking for her. Saiki was so reserved himself that he wouldn’t show his abilities near normal people, so if he did show them around those strangers she’d realise that they were far from normal. Yet she didn’t, because her cat was about to attack her fish again and she had to intervene before Mr. Fishy became Mr. Sushi.

Once she had saved Mr. Fishy she returned to her crystal ball and asked the next burning question on her tongue “When is the next time that Kusuo Saiki meets these people?” Her crystal ball showed her a scenery where Saiki would meet those people again, but this time Toritsuka and her were included. She couldn’t help but smile.

Perhaps god was on her side after all.
