"Stay with me."
Those three words would be the death of you, you swore it. Coupled with the pleading pale eyes gazing up at you, if Legolas had had his way, you never would have left your bed.
His travels had meant a great seperation between the pair of you, but his joining of the fellowship seemed as though fate had reunited you. Though you knew his stay in Rivendell would be fleeting, you valued this time with him more than ever. Legolas, of course, felt the same way, but what he didn't appear to understand was that you still had jobs to do, whether he liked it or not. The sun had been high for many an hour now, and truly you should have been preparing for the day ahead, yet the elven prince seemed to have other ideas.
"My presence will be missed," you chuckled as his hand came to run through your hair. "I would not wish to burden others-" You stopped mid sentence as Legolas pulled you tightly to his chest, letting out a gentle sigh in the process. As if a jigsaw piece, your head fit perfectly below his jaw, and slowly you were beginning to give in to his wants.
"If you leave, your presence will be missed here too, meleth nîn," he muttered, pressing a gentle kiss a top your head.
"What will Lord Elrond think of me?" Your questions had no true intent, knowing already that you had relented. Hearing answers made you feel a little better, and Legolas was more than happy to oblige if it meant you stayed a little longer.
"I am sure he will understand." The angel on your shoulder told you to protest, to insist upon your leaving, but the warmth of Legolas' embrace enveloped you like a blanket of its own, and leaving it seemed improbable.
"Legolas-"
"I shall take the fall, meleth nîn, should anyone complain. Just stay with me." Feeling his lithe yet strong form beneath you, you knew you had succumbed; having missed his touch for so many months, there was no way you could lose this opportunity.
"I wish you did not have to leave so soon."
Humming a little beneath his breath, Legolas tilted your head to face him, smiling softly so as to ease your concern. Though you trusted his great bowmanship, knowing him to be more than capable of holding his own, there was ever a small doubt in your mind about his return. He knew you better than almost you knew yourself, and one glance at your face told all.
"Let us not think about departure while I am here. Av-'osto, (Y/N)-" Gently, the elf prince brought his palm to your face, thumb reaching out to trace circles across your cheekbone. "I spend my nights alone missing you, I will not waste the ones we have together."
You smiled, consenting, closing your eyes so as to feel wholly his comforting, warm body against your own. His arms wrapped tightly around you, his slow breathing and drumming heart beat, sounds that resonated throughout your whole person, all of which only increased your love for him. Responsibilities drifted from your mind as he began to sing beneath his breath, and casting your eyes to the light pouring in from your bedroom window, you wondered if this was what Valinor felt like.
