Notes:

This is an old fanfic that I've made about a month ago.
Decided now it's time to post this.

Edit: Had to redo the fonts a bit. Frick me...

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was a cold night in Nevada.

Most of the grunts at the times like this went to their home, and sleep. Some even are nocturnal and do whatever the hell they want or need do through the night.

This certain grunt is also no exception.

It is 11:57P.M, 3 minutes before the midnight struck. He was driving a small truck towards somewhere down a narrow road.

He looks at his rear- view mirror. Behind the passenger’s seat lies a big garbage bag in a side position. It looks to be containing something alive, as it makes a slight small movement.

The grunt looks back at the road, then he pressed the handbrake, stopping the truck.

It seems that he has arrive at his destination.

It was a hidden base located at the bottom of a hill, and only the Agents from A.A.A knew well that the building- their main H.Q- was there, right on the tip of the mountain edge, camouflaging itself along with the rocks and debris.

The grunt went towards the front locked door.

The door is high-tech as it seems to be made out of metal and at its side was a padlock numbers.

The grunt gets off the truck, lifting the garbage bag on his muscular shoulders and went to the door.

He puts some of the codes on the padlock, unlocking it. The door then opens, releasing the smells of metal and grease. The grunt enters, and instantly the temperature around him drastically dropped, as if he was just entering a snowy area.

Once inside, he walked through the corridors. There are lots of rooms that has been labelled ‘occupied’ and ‘unoccupied’ randomly using digital labelling by the front doors.

There are other grunts as well. Some of them wearing a scientist lab coat, and some wear just plain regular shirt. He lifted his right hand and making a waving gesture. The grunts that passed by respond with the same gesture as well.

He finally reached to the end of the corridor, and in front of him was a door that was labelled unoccupied. He took out his ID card and press it to the card scan.

The door opens, revealing a pitch-black environment. At first it seems like nothing is there, but then, the light slowly rises, revealing some fade line of lights which lined off circle-shaped at the middle of the room. but what’s the most attentive was that at the center of the circle, there, a pile of dead bodies had been arranged like a mountain to fit in the circle line.

And it was all the grunt’s doings.

The grunt was tasked with a mission from the H.Q itself; Reviving their most notorious, ruthless cold-blooded killer, and respective mercenary, Hank J. Wimbleton.

Hank was famous for doing good at their job, and on some occasion, or any regular basis, there are several times where he ended up got killed whilst doing the job.

And the other grunt had to revive him without any complain once he got the orders from his Leader itself by an A.A.A bracelet communicator located at his left wrist.

But this time, however, he now had a need to feel worry about both of them, and himself.

27 sacrifice attempts are in, and still no feeling of his presence occurred. Usually when it turns out like this, that means he had to take down a stroll outside and find more sacrifices.

It’s not like this had happened before. Lately, his recent killings had caused him to find more.

Ever since of the monster he had become.

But the other grunt have a feeling that his own mind had started to giving up his hope on reviving this certain grunt.

Sure, he could go and proceed to sacrifice the other two A.A.A mercenaries, Sanford and Deimos, as both of their strength combined are equivalent to Wimbletons’, instead of kidnapping random grunts out of nowhere and do the trial and error of reviving the big dude.

He shook his head off, ignoring the idea as he didn’t want his already made effort go to waste, and surely, he doesn’t want to hear the end of it from the Leaders, along with the dude as well.

He opens the bag, revealing an unconscious grunt. He lays down the grunt on the top of the pile and wake him up.

“Wha-? Huh?” The grunt- no, the 28th- looking around his surroundings, before turning his head back to the person who brought him there. Fear washes all over his face.

He made no hesitation as he slit the grunt’s throat right after he turned his head towards him.

The grunt made no noise, as he tries to cover the wound with his hand, but to no avail. He then falls dead limp among the dead bodies, his vision slowly clouded with darkness as it welcomes him with open arms.

Right after that, he felt the man’s presence.

Fuckin’ finally.

The light source that lightens up the room flickers a couple seconds before it stops.

He then stepped back from the body pile and searching something in his pocket, before taking out a small vial.

Inside was a black, sticky-like liquid that looks seemingly to be alive, as it rocks back and forth without the man shaking it.

He opens up the cork, then tilted the vial mouth towards the body pile.

The liquid was poured outside, before dissolving to gas and into mid- air, moving towards the direction of the pile.

He then sits on the cement floor, leaning against the wall beside the door, lighting up a cigarette while letting the gas do its thing.

The gas overshadows the pile, absorbs it, slowly engulfing it and melting it, turning the pile into a disgusting mushy liquid clay-like.

The gas still engulfing the clay as it mixed the pile of bodies whole, shaping it into a form of a grunt.

It continues to form the grunt, adding the features that a grunt supposed to have; the facial cross, the top and bottom of the body, everything.

The grunt heard a deep rumbling sound, as if there’s a beast growling in annoyance. He lifted his head back at the shadow, notice that it had some difficult time to form the figure’s lower jaw, as the blood keeps pouring on the part. It seems that the body sacrifice is still not enough although the person itself has arrived.

He shook his head and took out another cigarette.

He will figure that one problem out soon.

The gas keeps forming and shaping the figure as if it was someone’s carving a sculpture. The lights in the room had turned dim red and flickers occasionally.

Once the figure has been finished build, a strong gust of wind blows, even though it was inside a closed-space room.

The light cigarette that was on another grunt’s mouth has extinguished. He stands up from his position, putting down the cigarette and stomp on it with his feet as he looks at the figure in front of him.

Once the figure’s body shape has been completed, the gas then puts the figure on the ground and merges with the figure, entering the figure’s body.

The figure’s pair of crimson eyes wide open. It then wakes up and tries to stand up, revealing his- their- whole naked- ass body.

The other grunt smiles at the sight of the scene, for two different reasons. But most importantly, it seems that the sacrifice attempt this time was a success.

The figure rubbed their head, adjusting their visions to their surroundings. They then locked their gaze to the grunt in the room.

“Doc- ” Its raspy voice calls out for the other grunt.

The moments were interrupted as a gush of blood from the figure’s unfinished lower jaw spills on the floor.

The other grunt sighed, then move towards the figure, bringing bandages from his pocket along with him.

A small gentle smile forming on his lips.

“Welcome back, Hank.”
