Being a treasure hoarder has it's ups and downs. Some of the time, they would end up getting beat up by Vision Holders that they'll accidentally meet along the road, while most of the time they'll find some kind of treasure, sell it, and get the mora that their group would probably spend on food, inns, weapon upgrades, and their hidden guilty pleasure– Idol Merchandise.
Buying merchandise is probably the only thing that brightens up their lives.
After a whole day of looking for treasures, being chased by slimes, unintentionally waking a slumbering Ruin Guard, and having the honorary knight of favonius from Mondstadst hunt them for their insignias, all of them are tired as heck and wanted to rest for the whole week at most.
Each of them has no more energy to spare, only the strength of their spite and the promise of a comfortable place to sleep was the only thing that fuels them to keep on walking.
One of the treasure hoarders, let's call him BingBing, their newest and youngest member, was staring mournfully at the cliff that his hammer had fallen in.
The other treasure holders noticed his dejected expression and looked at where he's looking, "Hey, dude, what's the problem?"
BingBing, eyes glistening with tears, screamed at his fellow treasure hoarders, "That damn traveler kicked my hammer to a cliff again!"
They all looked at each other hesitantly, keeping a safe distance from their distraught member, confused since the other probably lost lots of hammer by now and this is the first time that he got angry, "Look, Bing-er, we can always buy you another one! Don't worry! We still have some leftover money from our last treasure hoarding!"
BingBing, crying mournfully, glares at his useless teammates, who's probably unaware of how important his hammer is, "Shut up! You don't understand how important that hammer to me!"
They all winced at the shrill voice of BingBing, "W-what?", their leader asked weakly.
BingBing ignores the uncomfortable looks they are sharing, kneeling in front of the cliff, "I've put my Limited Edition Idol Barbara Sticker on that hammer... there's only twenty copies of that sticker and after saving up for seven months, I finally managed to get a copy."
Upon hearing that, all of them looked at their youngest member sympathetically, fully understanding now how important that hammer is. After all, each of them carries some kind of merchandise of their idol.
"For seven months, the only thing that I've eaten everyday was apples and sunsettias," He hiccups, "For that sticker, I ignored that gorgeous and sturdy hammer that I've seen a few months ago." Their leader was now patting the head of the crying young man, all of them was surrounding their sobbing member, trying to comfort him.
"That sticker was the only thing that encourages me to do my best, it was one of the only thing that makes me happy, and–and now it's g–gone...!"
Their marksman, who has been quietly comforting their youngest finally decided to speak, "Sshh... stop crying now, Bing-er. I'll give you one of my Barbara crochet dolls later."
BingBing, who has been hiccuping, froze upon hearing that, raising his face to look at their unapproachable marksman, "Wha–"
"Remember that Barbara doll in my pack that you've been eyeing ever since I showed it to you? I'll give it to you." The marksman ignores his other teammates cries of favoritism and envy, staring calmly at his shocked teammate.
BingBing's eyes glistens with tears again, but instead of sadness, it was tears out of happiness. He immediately hugged his teammate.
"Oh my Morax, you don't know how much I want that doll! Thank you very much, Gege!"
Marksman just smiled and patted his teammates head. Urging his team to start walking towards the inn that they'll be staying for the day with promises of giving each of them Barbara dolls too.
A few days later, BingBing was humming cheerfully as he walked down the hallway of the ruins that they found. Hidden in his pack was the Barbara doll that marksman promised to give him.
He's still sad that he lost the Limited Edition sticker that he bought using the money that he spent months of saving, but whenever he looks at the doll, his sadness just instantly vanished.
Every time he's too tired to finish his tasks, he'll just hugged that doll to his chest for a few minutes and his energy would immediately replenished. He's heard how great of a healer his idol is, and he can't believe that even a doll with just her features can cure and erased all the trace of sadness and exhaustion in him.
He's really glad that all of his teammates are also fans of Barbara and understands him, or else, this action of him would probably embarrassing.
He was about to head upstairs to check if there's a chest there or anything when the noises outside caught his attention.
"Huh, another test subject!"
Upon hearing that familiar line from their Potioneer, he immediately rushed towards the exit to help his teammates. Knowing that it's probably another adventurer attacking them for the chest hidden in this ruin. He was about to take his hammer out, when a fairy-like young lady plunged in front him.
"Tada! Barbara is here~ Leave the healing to me, I will not disappoint you!"
His body completely froze. His mouth dropped open, staring at the young woman in front of him with awe.
Because of his fixation to his idol, he didn't manage to hear the cries for help of his teammates, or he probably heard it but chose to ignore it since Barbara is more important than them at the moment.
"W–wait.... is that Barbara?! That's Barbara the Idol, right?!" He yelled happily, staring at his ever so wonderful and beautiful idol, disregarding the fact that she's attacking his teammates.
"Bing-er, you bastard, help us here! Stop fanboying and hit them with your hammer!" The leader of the treasure hoarders was yelling at the awestruck idiot near him, trying to get his attention back to the battle while also dodging both of the attacks of the honorary knight that attacked them last time and the redhead man that he's sure was the bartender who served them wines the last time they drink at the tavern.
"Oh my Morax! Barbara, I'm a great fan! Can you sign–" BingBing tried to look for a pen in his pockets, eyes still trained on his goddess. He tried not to squeal when Barbara's blue eyes landed on him. He was about to declare his everlasting love for the young woman when he noticed that Barbara's body is now facing him.
"Go Barbara, go."
Was the last thing that BingBing heard that day as he saw his goddess sprint towards him, aiming her book towards him, and suddenly getting hit on the face by his idol's hydro attack.
