Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

The smell of pastry’s filled the air as the sound of coffee being poured and quiet conversations surrounded the cafe. It was early in the morning yet Naruto was as energetic as ever. He filled up a paper cup to the brim with hot brewing coffee before putting it on the counter.

"Order 314!" Naruto yelled. A woman got up from her seat as her heels clicked the floor. She grabbed her mocha with delicacy as she said a small "thank you" and sat back down. Naruto went back to work as a small smile formed on his face. After he graduated from high school he decided to have a two year break from school to save up money, he found the job through a friend of his and has been working there ever since.

As Naruto was cleaning his station he heard a woman’s voice whisper behind his ear. “Kakashi is planing on giving you a raise.”

"Get the fuck out, really?" Naruto said, grinning from ear to ear.

He turned to see the exact friend who recommend the job, Sakura. She had just gotten out of her break and was helping him at the front.

"I'm not lying, he was talking about it with a friend, he even said that he may give you employee of the month."

"Do you know how much the raise is?"

"I'm not sure, but I know he's gonna talk about it with you today."

Naruto's grin grew larger as he continued. "That's great! Maybe this month I'll be able to save up enough to get that new game that I wanted!" He suddenly felt immense pain coming from his head, he didn't need to turn around to know what the cause of it was.

"Ouch! Hey! What was that for?!" He said, resting his hand on his head to somehow reduce the pain.

"I'd like to remind you that you’re saving up to go to acting school."

"Oh... hehe I guess I forgot about that!" Naruto laughed off, he thought it would be awkward if he didn't continue the conversation so he went off topic.

"Oh yeah, did you finish the exam that you've been studying for? You skipped work to study for it, it must've been pretty hard."

"Fortunately for me, the exam was easy. But I shouldn't be taking credit, my professor has been very helpful making me understand everything, even if I had a loss of sleep because of it."

"Oh! Is your professor the one with the big jugs?"

Sakura glared daggers at him but nodded. Naruto and her had become friends because of work. She had randomly went up to him on the streets and asked him if he was looking for a job. He said yes and she referred him to the cafe. Fascinated by her odd behaviour he applied for the job and got accepted. Sakura helped him with a lot of stuff and he would cover shifts for her, this eventually made them become closer and more talkative to each other, though Naruto was the one who pushed the friendship to where it is today.

As Naruto went to sit down in the back but he heard the door open. Naruto sighed as he did the best smile he could and said, "Hello! What can I get for you today?"

A tall pale man stood at the glass door. He had long black hair and obsidian eyes. He wore a black suit with a red tie and clearly came out of a professional setting. He walked towards the counter, his hands digging inside his pockets. All eyes were glued on to him as his emotionless face looked up to see the menu.

Naruto stood there patiently waiting for him to order. "Come on! First you come before I go to take a break, and now you're gonna take forever to order! What the hell is wrong with this dude?" Naruto thought.

He turned behind to look at what Sakura thought of the situation but to his surprise, her eyes were widened and her mouth was open. Much like what everybody else's face was. Naruto was beyond confused, what was so special about this guy? Naruto secretly moved himself to Sakura.

"Hey snap out of it." He said, snapping her out of her trance.

Sakura shook her head, not even realizing she had been staring off at space. Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. Her eyes didn’t move from the other man.

"He's a famous model dumbass, I've been a fan of him since middle school and I'm guessing a lot of his other fans are here too."

Naruto looked around to see nearly everyone's eyes drawn to the man ordering.

"Then why don't you go say hi?"

"Not everyone can say hi to anyone like you!"

Naruto looked over to the man who was now staring at him. "Are you ready to order?" His tone was less bubbly compared to his greeting. Something about the tall man made irritated Naruto.

"I'd like a large black coffee."

Unlike Naruto, his voice was smooth yet deep, it was quiet yet you could still hear him perfectly fine.

"That'll be $3.99, how will you pay?"

The mans slender hand reached into his pocket to reveal a very thick wallet.

"Sakura wasn't joking was she?" he thought.

"Debit."

He took out a shiny black card that looked even more expensive than himself, Naruto gave him the card machine as he was now more irritated. All Naruto thought about this guy was one thing:

"Bastard."
