When the World Seems Against You.

Summary:

He didn’t think this would happen. He always had a dream to be a hero.

But what could he do now that everything seemed to be against him.

(Izuku’s friends are gone and so are his dreams. So he sees no point to keeping his notebooks and unintentionally starts a war. and somehow doodling in his notebook for all those years payed off way more than he ever imagined. Also he seems to be in the right place at the right time a lot.)

Notes:

This will have a lot of mistakes and is kinda short.

It’s the first chapter dont except much :D

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Growing Dread

Chapter Text

Izuku pov

Izuku had many things..

Time was not one of them.

He really needed to get rid of these notebooks. He couldn't look at them without going hysterical!

He just planned on throwing them away slowly, but what if one ended up reaching her?

So He started plotting.

If he memorized his mother's daily schedule and routes along with the times of when the trash was removed he could eliminate any possibility of any part of the notebooks reaching his mother.

Mabye he was being paranoid but he just couldn't have any room for failure!

But he already...Stop it izuku!

You can do this!

This seemed to help ease his mind but it seemed like he was starting to have a headache.. but it would probably pass soon.

Ok... so if he traced each trash schedule he would be able to get rid of them without a single chance of someone seeing one. Then it would absolutely destroy any chance of a coworker or simply a really problematic and loud person, talking about it.

Thus so eliminating the chance that his mother would even hear so much of a whisper about his notebooks! And if she did question what happened to them he would say something about them taking up space!

Space...space...Space for what?!?

Izuku found this as a very problematic hole in his story. He didn't have anything he needed to store and his room was so incredibly bare without the bright colors covering his walls. Or the small charms and figures that made room seem almost warm.

It seemed so cold now...

But that wasn't the main point now! Why couldn't he focus on what was most important! No wonder..!

-Ok, izuku basically cut himself off of his ramblings, he needed to focus!

What would he use the space for? What would a kid his age need space for?

He then remembered something.

He opened the ripped front page of one of the notebooks and he got an idea.

Art?

He had gotten pretty good at that. Drawing gear for his future... and even symbols for All Might or Kacchan. Even drawing hero's while in their action poses in order to study their movements.

Art supplies took up space, and even he couldn't mess something like this up. He was ok at it. And maybe it would work to trick- convince his mother that he just needed the space.

The more he thought about it.. the more promising it sounded.

It was a normal hobby.

But what if she didn't take it at face value?

That paranoia from earlier came creeping back. He had to have something other than a- ‘oh yeah I just wanted to!’

He had to make sure there was zero chance she even had a thought of him just making an excuse or worse lying!

Because if she did, she would look at him like that again! He got up from where he had been sitting on the floor. He went back over the plan to see where he could solve this issue he had with it.

He couldn't have any risk! It had to be an air-tight plan!

So he would keep track of the trash routes and his mother's routes for the next two weeks. By then school would be a week from being out.. Leaving him to try and make it known that he had taken an interest in art during that time. Maybe he should try to avoid doing this at school- or at least keep it down to a minimum- Just in case.

How would he keep tabs on the routes though? Maybe he could use an alerting system on his phone or on his mother's phone. Making it so it sent some sort of notification what area she was in. Then he could keep notes on her movements throughout the two weeks and maybe whenever she came in contact with any sort of trash disposal.. or maybe he could dump them in a single one.

One dumpster, would make it easier to keep tabs on that certain one so that he can pin point when the best time to throw away his notebooks (and have them be immediately taken away from anywhere his mother could see them or even hear one in the wind) is.

Mabye by keeping a small traceable device tapped to the outside of the dumpster he could make sure it would send a notification anytime it was bing moved or within range of his mother.

Ok one dumpster it was!

His plan would start tomorrow on Sunday. So he started preparing his materials and starting phase one of his plans,

Phase Before A!

(Get it? because it the preparation for the first part of his- whatever he thinks it's amazing )

No leads...

There was one other page found at a family gathering of one of his detectives.

he had mangled pages of such dangerous information someone could use it to take down a giant..There was no signature and even after all the testing and quirks used they couldn't get any DNA or fingerprints, only burns and what seems to be tear stains and a small unidentifiable sauce stain.

And no one could seduce if this was because of how the villain took care of it or how the person who wrote it left it.

What were they supposed to keep an eye out for?

??? POV

--

She kept running, she had to get out, her silver-blue locks fell behind her as her feet brushed on hard concrete.

But then she felt a softer substance below her. When she looked down she found what looked to be a coloring book with bright things rubbed so hard into it that part of it seemed to be torn out. With only part of the middle and the spine left.

But right when she grabbed it, something grabbed her by her hair. It felt almost like sand paper ripping on her scalp. She cried out while hugging the coloring book close to her.

Soon she was met back in her full white room.

But then she felt it. She still had the coloring book!

When she got to the first page she found that it wasn't a coloring book.. but a regular book. It was hard to figure out but she recognized some of the things in there.

And she could figure out most of the smaller phrases but she always looked for the symbols that seemed small but they turned out to be so fun!

like ones she could figure out was ' did you know that katsudun is katsudun and that I'm starving?' And, 'Kacchan x anger management (don't tell anyone I wrote that)' it was so silly and brought a soft giggle out of her.She kept flipping though out the pages spotting little inside jokes and funny phrase about 'hero's' and fellow classmates or even 'teachers'.

Also she could understand some sad things written too. And it somehow brought her comfort. That she wasn't alone and someone,Somewhere, felt just as alone as she did..She felt like this was meant for her and that maybe.. just mabye... someone was looking out for her...

Just maybe.

And maybe they felt just as alone as she did.

Izuku pov

--

Izuku hadn't been hearing from his friends. But they did seem busy the last time he talked with them. And if they really wanted to hang out they would have called him.

But that wasn't his top priority right now. He had been tracking the routes of both his mother and a dumpster near his school. It seemed like it didn't move much during the week but it also only came into contact with his mother's phone 2 times.

Of course it would be better if it didn't come in contact at all but he could work around this.

He was guessing by the height of the garbage in the dumpster that it must've been emptied at least 15 to 19 days ago. And adding the population of the people in the city and the trash they produce. Also getting an average of how many people would frequent around this dumpster would make the next time the trash was taken out be somewhere between 3 to 4 days.

Oh yeah it’s all coming together!

So, also based on the days his mother's phone encountered the dumpster his best option was to throw his notebooks out in 2 to 3 days.

As long as he got the numbers right then his plan would be so successful that... ok he couldn't think of anything fun or cool to compare how successful his plan would be but, he knew it would be successful!

Also he had started drawing a lot more, and he thinks he's actually pretty good!

Like just the other day he drew this dude with a sniper and it looked decent. But he never knew how hard it was to draw hands and shoes!

He remembered something he felt when he was drawing, it almost felt like a mix of clarity and sadness. Clarity for finally being 'over his dream' but also sadness for feeling like he had given up. Like he could've done so much more but he was never going to, simply because he couldn't bring himself to even try.

But it didn't matter he could find something else. Maybe talk to his teacher about canceling his attempt at getting into UA.. Maybe he could still try to get into support? He could find something!

Katsuki pov

Bakugou had noticed something..

well rather a lack of something.

It was Deku, now yes he has always wanted the damn nerd to shut up, it made him feel weird when he couldn't hear Deku mumble.

He was always whispering about those around him. About all the great things about them. Deku always managed to brighten at least one person in the classroom with his ramblings.

Not like Bakugou was one of them.. But he was smart so he noticed!

But Deku always managed to be something that stayed the same in this changing world.

(Ew poetry what is he an emo?)

Nothing could break him. No matter what bakugou did.. but Bakugou didn't care, he just didn't want auntie to be mad at him if anything stupid happened to Dumb Deku. Why did Deku ever think he could be someone up there with him?

Is he just finally now listening to the facts about his mumbling?

Why does Bakugou feel weird in his silent classroom.?

This is what he wanted.. but maybe it was because Deku hasn't given up yet..Yeah once he was in UA and Deku was stuck back here he would be fine.

Or Mabye...

"Hey! Deku!" Bakugou yelled to get his attention.

"Huh?" Deku turned around to see Bakugou standing about 6 feet behind him looking impatient as ever,

"Oh, Hi Kacchan!"Deku's voice seemed hesitant as he greeted Bakugou,

" Deku never forget what I'm gonna say right now.. I will be loved by millions, I will be better than All Might himself and you.. you will be left behind in my dust! You will never be a hero! So you should just give up and do something that won't make you a laughing stalk for the rest of your life!" Bakugou screamed this directly into Deku's ear as he walked passed.

If Deku listened to him, he would go back to his usual self despite Bakugou, that was simply his nature.. he would never give up and Bakugou knew that soon Deku would go back to Normal. Then he could really teach him a lesson.

And make him back down from being a hero forever.

Izuku pov

--

Izuku walked home confused..

Why was Kacchan telling him this?

He was already well aware of what he would be like as a hero from All Might..He didn't need it to be repeated but it definitely downed his mood for it to be shoved back in his face.

But that didn't matter now, it was time to do finish his plan!

He had finally made it home and right when he kicked off his shoes he ran to his room. From his plans he had one hour and thirty minutes before his mom came in contact with the dumpster and one hour and fifteen minutes before the dumpster was emptied into a truck and driven away.

So once he got in his room and looked at the notebooks each and every one of them cut deep with a feeling Almost like an insult to the fact he even tried that hard for something he knew deep down was unachievable.

After awhile of just looking at them he shoved each notebook messily into his bag, then grabbing his hoodie and slipping into it.

He ran straight to the door slipping on his shoes and opening said door. He ran as fast as he could toward the alley way with the dumpster each step feeling faster than the last. He ran through the crowded streets checking his watch every so often to make sure he still had time.

Soon enough he had reached his goal with about 35 minutes until the truck came to pick it all up. He squatted down trying to catch his breath from how fast he had to run to get here.

After catching his breath he grabbed the bag off his back. Unzipping it and taking out the mess of paper that was his notebooks.

He quietly opened the lid and emptied his bag above the dumpster.

After he dumped everything that was in his bag he quickly closed the lid with a thump.

Soon he zipped up his bag and started to walk away.He walked through the streets filled with relief as he got closer and closer to his home. Happy that he had time to spare.

He could finally move on.

He was all good now.

Yup! He was gonna be great!
