Last words of a shooting star

Summary:

I want to look as good as I possibly can right now.”

Chuuya tensed his jaw, squeezing his hands into fists.

“So just let me go, will you?”

Chuuyas hands released their grip slightly, eyes dragging down to the patchy grass.

Trying to say something.

Anything.

Chuuya reached out, grabbing Dazais thin, bandaged wrist.

“You’ll always be my partner, you bastard..!”

Was said as Chuuya tapped Dazais chest with his other fist, trying to conceal his fear, conceal his anger.

Dazai snorted, the sound a total contrast to the somber atmosphere.

“Haha…that’s the first time I’ve heard you say that…!”

Work Text:

There Dazai stood, across the street from Chuuya.

His eyes were tired.

As if he had given up all hope in this war.

“Hey…mackerel?” Was asked hesitantly, as if Chuuya was afraid to hear what would come out of Dazai’s mouth.

Dazai just smiled weakly, beginning to walk Chuuyas way, slowly,

Carefully.

“You…understand. I’m sure.”

Chuuya just grunted in shock and confusion, what on earth was Dazai doing?

“It’s finally time, you know…?”

An empty, hopeless voice filled the silence, only the light ruffling of the leaves serving as a background noise.

“…It’s my turn.”

Dazai passed Chuuya, aimlessly walking to what would for sure be Dazais death.

Because Chuuya knew. Chuuya knew Dazai and all his stupid plans.

And this plan,

Well… this plan would be one of his most idiotic ones, for sure.

“I want to look as good as I possibly can right now.”

Chuuya tensed his jaw, squeezing his hands into fists.

So just let me go, will you?

Chuuyas hands released their grip slightly, eyes dragging down to the patchy grass.

Dazai snorted, the sound a total contrast to the somber atmosphere.

Chuuya just looked at Dazai, trying his best to commit Dazai to his memory.

He wasn’t sure when he would see him next, after all.

And as Dazai sacrificed himself for the good of Yokohama, there were words that were spoken.

Words no one would ever forget.

Wow…being on the side of the good…”

It really is incredible.”

Notes:

Don’t worry, it hurt to make this as much as it hurt to read it.

Let’s cry over Hanjis death together.
