Work Text:
Tim had just opened the door when he sensed that something was wrong, someone was in the house. He looked around reaching for his bataring. And there he was Ra's sitting on the armchair in the dark like some kind of Bond villain. Tim was too tired for this.
"Hmph"
"Detective"
"What are you doing here Ra's? " He was so exhausted.
"Can't I just visit a... " He hesitated " Friend? "
"No. Especially not when that " friend"-" Ras looked appalled by the air quote motion. Good the bastard deserved it and more. "- has been in 9 business meetings and fought Killer Croc in the sewers in the last twelve hours. "
" Which is exactly why I am here. I have made a reservation at a restaurant in the tenth"
"No"
"Timothy please you certainly need the food" It would be too easy to say yes but Tim didn't have the time or the energy for this.
"I have cases that won't look into themselves. "
Ra's smirked. "As previously stated, by you I might add, you've had a rather busy and tiring day and you need to rest, detective. "
"Is it the Italian one?" He really did love that restaurant and the waiting line was like a month long.
"Of course" When did Ra's get to know him that well.
"I am going to get the most expensive things in that restaurant and you are paying. You certainly can afford it" Tim was petty but he enjoyed it too much to stop himself. Maybe a better man would have but Tim was too tired to even think about improving himself.
" The bases you had exploded last week were certainly more expensive that anything you can eat or drink there" He loved blowing those bases up, it brought him a deep satisfaction. Maybe he should be concerned. But it was so nice to foil Ra's' plans. He should definitely be concerned.
" Do not challenge me Ra's. I haven't had a proper meal in around thirty hours. And you know, explosives are such tricky things. "
"Your bad eating habits are rather concerning. Shall I have someone bring you food three times a day? " No god no. The surprise dinners, the suits, the clues for cold cases, the jewelry, the books, the poetry and the flowers were more than enough.
" I had two granola bars if you must know. At least you won't have to worry about those bases anymore, I did you a favour really. You should be thanking me." Ra's hummed " And it's weird enough that you are trying to fuck me, please don't try to be my father too, I have enough of them already."
"Such foul language, Timothy. Are you saying you see me as a father, I am touched. "
"Again you are not my dad. " Fuck Ra's was frustrating. "If someone didn't know you he would say you seemed kind"
" Perish the thought, detective. I would certainly be a better father than your current one. And I am not the first father figure you have wanted to have sex with"
And God Tim wanted to fuck Ra's.
" This is not about me wanting to fuck Bruce. All of us apart from damian, want to. " Ra's raised an eyebrow. " And you certainly are not a good father. Have you met Talia... Or Nyssa... Or Dysan... Or.. "
"Point made, detective" Ra's interrupted.
"When is the reservation? "
"In five hours and 18 minutes. Enough time for you to take a shower, have a snack, arrange your affairs, nap and maybe even a game of chess. I know how you like to be prepared" Why did he have to be so nice and considerate he is a villain for fuck's sake. Being an adult sucked. Not that Tim had been anything else in at least eight years but being legal gave older people, especially a certain older man, the right time flirt with him. At least he waited until he was 22 it was considerate? God Tim was fucked up.
"Thank you for being considerate" Tim said voice dripping with sarcasm. Ra's only smirked looking mildly amused. The bastard.
" You are welcome, detective. Go on in the shower and do try to relax, it will be good for you. I'll make something for you to eat before you nap"
" You're lucky I am hungry. One dinner Ra's. One dinner, nothing more. Try anything and your bases will regret it" He glared at Ra's but he just smiled. Tim change his look, silently conveying his thanks, a rare show of appreciation for them but Ra's was always there as fucked up as it was when Tim needed him most.
"I would expect nothing less, detective" He said fondly.
