"It's ridiculous." But Ethan remained unswayed, so Brandt finally said, "It's the way you smell."
Brandt sounded so... defeated. Ethan had seen Brandt fight, an economy of motion, tight and controlled. Even when pressed, Brandt gave it his all. But Ethan can drain the fight right out of him, so quickly, so easily. It's one thing to have an Achilles' heel, but quite another to be somebody else's.
