They knocked on the door and it was opened a moment later by a handsome youth dressed in red, with a raised eyebrow and suspicion in his eyes.

The muddy group stared up at the man, Wei Wuxian still held under Lan Wangji’s arm while the child was cradled in the other. After Wei Wuxian had been put down and limped ever so slightly, realising he had twisted his ankle, Lan Wangji promptly scooped him back up. That was fine, Wei Wuxian didn’t need dignity right now, just a warm place to stay for the night!
Wei Wuxian tilted his head to make eye contact with the man.
“Hiya! This will probably sound a bit random, but can we stay here tonight? We’re not criminals, I promise!”
The man looked rather unimpressed, and only said, “That’s probably what a criminal would say.”
“True true, but I will pinky swear to you that we are not!”
The man lifted one smooth brow.
“No. I don’t want you getting Gege’s house dirty.”
And with that, the man shut the door in their muddy faces.

Summary

So, it might be a thing.
Atsushi grew up in an environment where anything surrounding sex was extremely taboo. He was then thrust into the Armed Detective Agency, where his mentor was a renowned playboy—though, Atsushi is starting to lose faith on how true that actually is, and whether all of Dazai’s “women” are just a certain red-haired mafia executive—so he’s definitely not a prude, okay?!
This, however, is something he didn’t even know people could have a thing for.
(He’s acutely aware that it could just be… Akutagawa. Vulnerable Akutagawa, in particular.
That somehow makes things worse.)
And Atsushi could ask Dazai, considering he brags so often about all his ridiculous sexcapades, but he thinks he might rather die than ask Dazai for advice on anything personal. Especially not this.
He also isn’t going to start fucking searching why does my enemy crying make me hard on his fucking work computer, because that seems ridiculous at best. And because he works with detectives. And because he’s 99% sure that Katai is the IT guy for them, and he’d rather just… not.
His options are limited. He doesn’t have a personal laptop, because he gets paid enough to cover the ingredients of chazuke and maybe a couple of crepes a week for Kyouka, and he’s never really learned how to be financially viable either.
The point is, Atsushi cannot work out if there is genuinely just something extremely wrong with him, or if this is like… a thing.
And realistically, Atsushi only has two ways to figure things out usually. (Three, if it’s not super weird and kinky, because he has now learned what the Internet is and how it works.) One is asking Dazai, which he absolutely cannot do. Two is arguing with Akutagawa until he gets the answer he needs.
He doesn’t think he can do that either.
